Eskie (20) is loving this drink, and his new drinking buddy. He has been 'alone' for so long, it's hard to say if he's drunk on whisky or high on adrenaline, but he looks at Zak, then at the door, says: Just because I'm tiny, you think I can't open doors?! I'll show you, big guy! As he walks over to the door, he winks at Gwenant: Death door? I'm not scared of no door. Nobody will ever say a simple door got in the way of Eskie Timboon! As he gets to the carvings, you see him hesitate, he looks a little confused, then exclaims: AHA! Rebuke the Dead! So obvious! He puts one hand in front of him palm facing the door, holding a small coin, while the other hand is making small circles behind it. Eskie says something in Gnomish and you feel energy emanating from the small creature, and with what almost feels like an invisible gust of energy, the skeleton doors are pushed open.
The gnome puts the coin away, and heads through the door, he laughs and sarcastically adds: Oouu spoooky! I'm terribly scared, I think I might've peed myself...He calls out from the room: Nothing in here but old sarcophagi..For those who peer into the room: Five dusty sarcophagi, three to the north and two to the south, stand on end in this silent chamber. Each of the carved stone coffins resembles a noble, elf-like humanoid in ceremonial robes. An altar, with images of dragons carved into its black obsidian, is set in the center of the west wall. A single candle burns brightly on the altar.
The Kobolds (14; 8) seem a little confused at Spotty's entrance, then at the mention of their queen, they seem afraid.
<-- Uuuh Yusdrayl? Us? Why us? -->
<-- No way! Who are you to speak for the queen? -->
They don't budge from their positions, but don't take out their weapons either.
"Heh heh heh!!" Zak is having a blast here with Eskie and is excited to see him take the dare and open the door. "Wow - cool spell! You and Renny should have a chat... you should see the stuff she can do with fire."
As usual with not much regard for respect to the dead and feeling a bit tipsy, Zak will kind of barge into the coffin room and poke around a bit. He will check out the coffins and the altar to see if there's anything more to them. "Wow I bet Renny'd like to see this..."(the dragon carvings)
"Eskie - I wonder who these people are? I mean... were?!" He laughs a bit but then reels it back in as even Zak knows that's going to far.
Investigation for the coffins and altar: 7
After all of that, Zak will ask Eskie for another drink, and will drink another big swig if Eskie obliges and will get him to take another swing with him.
Gwenant nervously looks between the open door and Renny and says, "They're... satisfying their natural curiosity?" Taking another peek into the scary door, she notices a drunken Zak fiddling around with the sarcophagi and with alarm on her face quickly moves to try and guide him away from doing anything too rash. As she does, she takes another brief moment to focus one last time, just to make sure that the bad feelings are past... and of course, take a proper look around with her regular eyes.

She throws an arm around Zak's shoulder and says, "Zak, old buddy! What have you found?"
Martin looks over to see the door open and immediately comes to full attention. He remembered undead being mentioned and rushes over to see what could be there and if there was any signs of foul magic in the room with the sarcophagi.

Spotty: The Kobolds seem a little more alert now, hands on the hilts of their weapons, but don’t draw them yet.
<-- Reward? That doesn’t sound right?-->
<-- You fool! Have you been eating too much Goblin flesh? You sound completely crazy... get back to the colony or we’ll have to take you to the queen see what she says about all this... you know what she does to “deserters” -->
(in Kobold, “deserters” doesn’t only refer to individuals who leave or escape, but also for the ones who try to act freely and don’t think like the rest of the colony)
Zak: On the altar, you see a small whistle made of crystal, and a crystal flask containing and orange-looking liquid.
Gwenant: There are definitely undead creatures in this room, the energy is emanating from the sarcophagi.
Martin: Their is a sense of undead in this sanctuary. The candle has a continual flame spell cast on it. In the flask is a potion of resistance (fire). The whistle, made of crystal, has the name Night Caller inscribed on it in Dwarvish.
Gwenant goes completely still in the sanctuary, the sense, practically a foul stench, of undeath clear and unmistakable in the room. "Martin,"she says, readying her trident, "there are undead in the sarcophagi. Zak, Eskie, for the love of the gods, don't touch them."
Zak was about to touch/fiddle with one of the coffins. He reaches out, and right before his hand touches the lid, he hears Gwen and turns around quickly and pulls his hand back.
"Oh... undead... well did you think they were going to be alive in there?" Zak snickers a bit at himself since he's feeling the effects of the booze, but realizes she is 'dead' serious about this and then moves slowly away from the coffins.
Still looking to Gwenant: "Hmmmm.... well, not much other than that bottle of who-knows-what over there and this whistle...<Zak snatches the whistle up>. Turns to Eskie "Eskie - play us a tune?" Zak starts to reach out and is about to hand the whistle to Eskie. (Zak of course doesn't know what the whistle is due to his roll).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Martin immediately steps up and holds out his hand. "That bottle is a Potion of Fire resistance and that whistle has a dwarven inscription giving it the name Night Caller. Let me hold it for now, I would hate to have it blown and call up creatures of the night." Martin then moves further into the room to examine the sarcophagi more closely to see if there is any identifying markings.

"At the moment, yeah, everything's still fine." Gwenant keeps looking between the sarcophagi, her trident occasionally flicking this way or that. "We have a few sleeping undead in here, just trying not to wake them up..."
The gladiatrix pauses when Zak holds the whistle out to Eskie, then starts towards them in a mild panic when she hears Martin's description of the artifact. "Don't blow it, don't blow it!"
With that, Spotty runs away, grabs his gear, and hurries back to the others. Many different plans and ideas fly through his head, but... that won't work... no, that won't work either. ...really, I think there's only one way...
When the others see him again, he looks like he's about to burst into tears- and if kobolds had tear ducts, he probably would.
"Guys, I screwed up. The kobolds are suspicious now, and they'll probably have reinforcements soon... I gotta get Calcryx out of here while I still can. It's my fault, so I'll do it alone. You guys... please promise me that you won't hurt the kobolds, ok? I'm sure they're decent folks, just... misguided... but I know they'll kill me if they catch me. So... don't wait up for me."
(at this point, this is the only solution I can think of to free Calcryx without the kobolds turning against all of us)
"Yeah... but if we all do it, the kobolds will hate us... they'll probably try to kill us, we'll be forced to defend ourselves, and..." Spotty frowns. "I don't want that to happen..."

"Another time, Eskie." and smiles at the Gnome.
Hearing Martin's description of the whistle kind of confused him, but hearing Gwen's warning he knew they should not blow it.
