Application :
Race: Aasimar (Protector)
Class: Warlock - Patron : Archfey (Sarula Iliene)
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Name: Frilse Mizanmi (which I imagine is pronounced Fril-SEH)
Backstory: Ok long story short the Nixie queen mildly corrupted a nascent demi-celestial to win a bet
When Frilse Mizanmi was 6 the voice began speaking to her. Telling her she was different. Telling her she was special. Telling her she was destined for great things. She had been chosen. This voice, who called herself Sarula, was more than just a friend, she was a confident, a benefactor, a teacher - giving amazing gifts and training Frilse in their use. These gifts would come at a cost, of course, but not till she was older.
Others would come, Sarula warned, and try to turn her from her destiny, scold her into mediocrity, maybe even try to make her give up her special gifts, but Frilse was strong and Frilse was special and Frilse would stand fast with Sarula's help.
So when the deva Mariel reached out to this nascent celestial power through prophetic dreams with her tried and trusted, harsh but fair 3-pillared approach (Self-denial! Guilt! Penance!) to building a stoic protector of man, Frilse and Sarula were ready for war, resisting that clicking tongue and accusing finger at every turn. These visions were sent by demons to corrupt her! Try as she might, Mariel could not brow-beat the maiden into submission to her higher calling and a life of humble servitude.
That is not to say that Frilse isn't a force for good in the world, nor that she doesn't strive against seemingly impossible odds to do good things, just that most of them end badly with someone falling into a river or a dam getting destroyed.
(I don't know much about Strahd, will google what Transplanted means in context and work it in, but something along the lines of the Nixie convincing Frilse that in going there she's confronting the demons that torture her and will finally get a good nights sleep. Putting the aasimar in danger and thwarting whatever destiny the Deva had in mind is it's own reward).
You can roll for ability scores, but I'll allow you to go with Point Buy/Standard Array if the scores are truly terrible.

(oh man... that 6... let me see if I can make it work... maybe make it an 8 in something lol.. or maybe I will just be really really bad at something..)
Ever since he can remember, Vic has been tormented by dark spirits of shadow. When he was very young, he can remember one evening.. the shadows moving from the walls around him... strangling him in an attempt to push him for a crime he knew nothing about. As Vic stuggled to cry the door to his bedroom opened and the light of his mothers lantern drove the spirits away. Although he survived that night, the attack took its toll. Vic's body was left weak and ravaged. As he aged, his body continued to stay frail and thin. Although while covered and clothed, the Kalashtar lookled much like a good looking young man... even if he was a bit thin. If you were to remove his robes however, you would see what looked like little more than a skeleton covered in small amounts of muscle and skin. Being so weak lead Vic to run into problems with illness and eventually lead him to look for a way to end what seemed like his constant suffering. One night he heard voices call to him and they led him to a black twisted staff in the middle of a nearby grave yard. As he touched the staff... a being offered him the ability to live forever... to help heal his crippled body. Vic Quickly accepted the offer and with his new found power decided to work towards slaying the dark spirits that wrecked his body so long ago... After years of traveling and searching for these spirits.. he finally ended up in a strange misty place.
(I also have an idea for a hobgoblin necromancer that I Might actually like MORE but Whichever you want)
Thrak has always been a soldier first. Originally assigned to the front lines, he faught hard against a band of orcs but was badly injured. With severe burns and scars covering most of his body, he was reassigned after his body had recovered.. Raised to do what was asked of him and not question his supervisors, he took his assignment to clean the battlefields of bodies and gather the weapons and armor of the dead without protest. Having more brains than brawn, Thrak was often asked to help advise on tactics... and on ways to grant their army an advantage. It was during his time cleaning battlefields that he started viewing the corpses around him as a resource. The bodies were not burden to be buried.. they were instead just another tool to be used in protecting his homeland and fighting the enemies of his people. After working with his superiors, he was provided tomes and access to the knowledge needed to pursue this controversial path.. that path of a necromancer. In some of the texts he was given... references to a misty realm where forbidden knowledge and power was hidden away was written.... Power that could be used to help his clan and improve his standing within its ranks...
