Cade cracks into one of the crates with "Elf Pudding" in it, it does pique his interest and he puts some in his cup to eat as he's going by. Xavnan, Thrak, and Cade (eventually) wait by the door for anything to happen. About 5 minutes goes by, and nothing happens except that some of the smoky haze is starting to escape at the top of the open doorway.

(And Cade, since he was late, was just waiting to see those results. But seeing as some halflings are in a rush...)
Cade grumbles, puts away the remainder of his pudding if he hadn't already, and then looking about the room decides to give the northmost door closest to their entryway a check to see if its unlock. And if it was, unless something happens or he spies a trap just beyond, he carries on just far enough inside as if he owned the place.

Cade will take a moment to search the ground for any scratches of clawed feet on stony floor or disturbed dust in along the ground. Once satisfied he moves on to try the northernmost door if his discoveries does not possibly lead him elsewhere. Though one hand has to stay free, the other keeps a tight grip on a handaxe for safety.
Thrak will follow behind Cade, looking around the room as his raven surveys the area from his shoulder. "Well... I had hoped that there would be a little more.... anything... in here." The hobgoblin would mutter as he looks for anything useful.
As Cade reaches for the northern door, Thrak's raven flies over to the western side of the room and starts pecking at the floor. Thrak goes over to investigate, and notices a slight difference on the floor coming out 10 feet from the door. The edges around the floor are unmortared. Thrak ascertains this to be a trap door, which has not yet been sprung.

(OOC - He made it and installed it, but can't disarm it. He made it too well. LOL)
Rivon, a little perturbed, goes over to the trap door and looks it over, He sees that there's a 2 foot wide caltwalk along the pit's center that will allow safe passage over it, but when he tries to disarm it, it just doesn't seem to want to cooperate.

"Guess we're in for a bit of a balancing act. Unless any of ya seen some planks back in other areas?"He looks back to the others, and then back to the trap, scratching at his head. After a moment or two he fishes out some rope again, and ties some of it around his waist before passing the length to the others. "Less one of ya magic folks got a way to open this bad boy from a distance. Mine as well get to springing it and seeing what's beyond, eh?"

Thrak will look across the trap door to see if there is anything on the other side that they could use to tie a rope to. "I could create a spectral hand to carry the rope to the other side... or the hand could just work to help us to cross by providing us a bit of stability..." The hobgoblin would suggest.
"Or you could just use this hand of yers to open the door? That's assuming it ain't locked of course, but it'd save someone from have'n to trigger it by opening it."Cade replies, giving Thrak a bemused s mile.

"OK" Thrak would say taking a few steps back... (20ft back) and uses mage hand to open the door. As the hand approaches the door he looks to the goblin. "I just hope those doors don't open and flood the room with boiling poison"
