"Fire seemed to hurt it pretty badly!" Gilbert would shout as he holds his staff tightly in one hand and places his other hand holding the dagger tight to his chest while casting dragon's breath. "I have a plan!" The verdan would shout as smoke billows from his nostrils and trickles from his floppy ears. He would quickly move around the creature and position himself behind the enemy, flanking the prone creature but far enough back that he wouldn't ignite his friends. Then once in position, the small Verdan would exhale a wave of flames towards the prone monstrosity.
DeX 13 save or take 9 fire damage, or half on a success. The roll should be at disadvantage because it is prone
OOC: Whoops, sorry. I thought the squares were a different size. I was dumb and didn't see the 10x10. Gilbert would move up next to the right of Darvin then and angle his flame breath so that it hits the creature and not Whistler.

Gilbert breathes fire at demogorgon making sure he doesn't catch Whistler in the blast. It tries to roll out of the way Dex save 2 and is able to roll away from the flames and most of them miss.
The creature jumps to its feet and the Demogorgon lashes out at Whistler 1-2, Gilbert 3-4 - 4 blood seeping from its wounds. It slashes with both claws and tries to bite Whistler

The monstrosity slashes with its right claw and Whistler ducks but the left claw catches him across an arm and blood spills. It lunges in to bite and it takes a bite from his shoulder.
Whistler swoons from the injuries but manages to stay on his feet.

Darvin whistles at the monster with a sing-song "yoo hoo!" intonation as he winds up his whip for another strike, taking a couple of steps toward the creature and then lashing at it again.
Then, turning to Whistler, he shouts, "It's not time to fall over yet! You've got this!" his inspirational words tinged with a magic that actually causes the Kenku to start to feel better ( healing word for 8 HP)
"I'm going to regret this, I know it" he says quietly to himself, holding his position near the demogorgon, bracing himself with his shield held out in front of him.
As Darvin's whip cracks across the body of the demogorgon it cuts deeply into its flesh. Blood spills freely as the monstrosity falls to the ground dead.
Gilbert would move to the creature and begin collecting the blood in a few small glass vials. "Good job everyone!" he would exclaim as flames fire from his mouth and into the dark sky. "whoops.... Look out.. " Smoke would continue to spill from his nostrils until the verdan shakes his head and ends the spell. "OK, we have the blood... I guess we need to go find some flowers now right? Do you need a rest?" He would ask with a look of concern towards his companions.
"I am doing fine, although Whistler here looks like he could use some more help. I vote we press on, though; this place gives me the heebie jeebies and I'd rather not spend any longer here than we need to. But I am willing to offer my healing potion to our monk friend, if his own supply is not enough to get him feeling up to snuff."
"I think he needs some kind of healing" Gil would say moving towards the Kenku and looking him over with concern. "I mean... when we leave here we will be in the lair of the beast.. for all we know we will end up looking face to face with the creature we have been sent to kill..."

Whistler straightens up a bit as he reaches into his bag and pulls out his healing potion. Pulling out the stopper, he swallows the contents in a few gulps.
Potion: 9
He then pulls out his small blackboard, and heads over to the group. I don't want to stay any longer than you guys, but a quick stop and a chance to eat some food and I will be all good.
"I am fine with a short rest... although this place is kind of spooky" Gilbert would say as he picks a spot on the ground and sits down.. looking through his spellbook as well as looking through his inventory of treasure.
You find a spot away from the remains of the creature. You quietly spend 2 hour resting and keeping watch. The eerie feeling that something is watching you never goes away but you don't see or hear anything.
After a couple of hours you've rested and eaten some food.
However Whistler doesn't feel any better than before resting.
You can click the short rest to reset any abilities that you would get back from a short rest but you cannot spend any hit dice to heal.
Still feeling a little stiff and sore after the rest, Whistler feels like something is odd about this place. He gathers everyone and gestures they should get ready to go.
You quickly find the cave. You take it to the cavern with the flowers. You pour the blood on one of the flowers, it bursts open violently and you are knocked to the ground as it does. As you get back to your feet you see that pouring the blood on the flowers created a cross-planar gate.
You push your way through the gate and step out of an oversized flower (like the one you stepped into in the Upside Down), you are back in the Material Plane — home. In fact, you are pretty close to Sir Tristan’s castle (you can see the towers above the tree line). Prints in the dirt make it clear that the thessalhydra has come this way often, and the tracks lead into a nearby cave.
Gilbert would look to the others. "I suppose we can setup camp here and recover from the last fight while waiting for the monster to come out" The small Verdan would say looking to Whistler. "Otherwise once we are all feeling better we can go in there"

Gilbert, you are 30 feet from the creature right now. You don't have enough movement to move that far.

It is now very late in the day and the sun is beginning to set.
Whistler looks at the offered potion, but refuses it with a nod of thanks before setting off.
When they exit the flower, looking up at the setting sun, Whistler gestures to his bedroll, indicating that he is suggesting they set camp.
