The Known World is a sprawling continent and neighboring islands inhabited by a variety of races. They have been at each other’s throats since time immemorial, but, lately, an equilibrium has emerged.
Roughly one and a half centuries ago, the Human Empire managed to conquer roughly half of the Known World. They annihilated a number of factions, leading to all of the remaining seven major races to unify against them. The following conflict, known to all as the Great War, lasted for fifty years, resulting in a stalemate. The peace that was signed in Dubwer, the human capital, left everyone overjoyed, yet exhausted.
Ever since, the factions have been reluctant to engage in conflict, as any strife between the races could lead to the humans sensing weakness and attempting another conquest. Hence, for almost a century, the Known World has been at peace, universally known as Pax Humana.
However, your characters won’t know this. In fact, they won’t really know anything, except for how to speak and fight. They will wake up in a ruined tower, on dirty beds with their names written above their heads. Everything else, including their past, or anything about the world around them, they will have to learn anew.
Campaign Rules
Campaign Type: Open World, Intrigue, Adventure
Number of PCs: No more than 5. If there are more than five people willing to participate, I will choose among them.
Levels: 3+ (Start at level three, with no pre-determined final level)
Restrictions: Only the races and classes that are provided in the Fifth Edition, Players Handbook, minus the halflings, are allowed. No homebrew or variant rules of any kind are allowed.
Tactics: We will be using maps, as all combat will be tracked using maps that I will upload every round. I like theatre of the mind as much as the next guy, but, when playing online, I find that tactical maps work better.
Additional Rules: I will be rolling initiative for all players and averaging their result, then comparing it to the averaged result of the enemies. Whichever wins, gets to go first. Players themselves can act in any order they wish.
Enemy stats: Keep in mind, that I will be changing enemy sheets quite a lot, so, even if you recognize the monster you are fighting, do not assume that Googling their stats will be of any use. This is not Forgotten Realms, so the creatures are quite different as well.
Posting Rules
You should post at least once per day. If you do not post for a day, I may act for your character for the turn. Frequent absence will cause your character to be replaced. The weekend will be treated as a single day, as most people, I find, have trouble finding time for online D&D on the weekends.
You should try to roleplay, including talking as your character. You should pick a single color, which will denote your character’s speech, so that it is easier to identify.
You should be friendly to the group. Any toxic behavior may cause your character to be removed. Any actions that ruin the fun of others cannot be tolerated.
How to Play
If you are interested, post here or message me with the following information:
How long have you been playing TTRPGs and D&D 5e?
How much experience do you have with Play-by-Post games?
What type of campaigns do you prefer (combat-heavy or roleplay-heavy, dungeon-crawls or open worlds, etc.)?
What character would you like to play (the PC must be third level, with restrictions provided above. All scores must be rolled, with all 1s being rerolled. We will be using milestone leveling. No backstory is necessary, as your characters won’t remember it anyway),
How much experience do you have with Play-by-Post games?
About three years, though less so on D&D Beyond specifically.
What type of campaigns do you prefer (combat-heavy or roleplay-heavy, dungeon-crawls or open worlds, etc.)?
A little bit of everything, frankly, as long as it's cohesive, not too railroady, and everyone's having fun.
What character would you like to play (the PC must be third level, with restrictions provided above. All scores must be rolled, with all 1s being rerolled. We will be using milestone leveling. No backstory is necessary, as your characters won’t remember it anyway),
A gnome wizard (presumably without their spellbook, as per the description above).
P.S. When you say that you want scores rolled, do you mean "4d6, drop lowest, reroll 1s"?
And yeah, there will be no spellbook, or weapons, or any other possessions, just some rags that you wear and that's it (though don't worry, that won't last for long).
How long have you been playing TTRPGs and D&D 5e?over two years
How much experience do you have with Play-by-Post games? Just about a year, playing in multiple games at once.
What type of campaigns do you prefer (combat-heavy or roleplay-heavy, dungeon-crawls or open worlds, etc.)? I’ve found that I like a bit of everything actually.

Hi everyone! I’ve been playing about a year. I’m in a face to face game. So I’ve got a bit of experience but still picking it up.
ive been trying to play by post for a about a year on and off. I understand the website and mechanics okay.
i like battling but I find that a good cohesive group that rps and post regularly is more fun.
Ive never been through a dungeon really, always open world . I tend to stay towards melee combat but I would like to try and mix it up.
