Burik will look over the bodies and have a quick look through the tents (Investigation if needed 15) before returning to Sam and asking about the Sons of Oshait and taking a swig from one of the skins and readying for travel.
Burik, you rummage around through the tents and find quite a few pairs of dirty socks.
Sam continues taking his turn with the wine and fills you in on the Sons of Oshait. "Surely ya'll know - or have just felt - how damn evil this place can be. Well, the Sons have been the last line of defense for longer than anyone currently living can remember. When something threatens to encroach on this country, on our family and our homes, we refuse to sit idly by. These dirty sons of *****es, the New Moon as they fancy themselves, have been dealing with some shady characters. Robbing caravans and running gambling dens is one thing...but kidnapping folks and selling them off to who knows who? Working with these dark forces...well, we just couldn't stand by any longer." He takes another swig, wipes a bit of red wine from his chin, and passes the skin to Percival.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brask eyes Sam suspiciously, but slowly puts his maul away. A spy, is it? Well, you can fight, that's for sure.
He looks around for any sign of Elka's stuff: Investigation7
As he does so, he nods to Burik. Thanks for getting me back on my feet. He gives the bandit captain's corpse a vicious kick as he walks past it, propelling it several feet along the ground.
"Are you guys looking for anything in particular? We have a stash about a quarter-mile up the road. A little bit of gold. Some other odds and ends from town. Nothing that I've found to be that interesting." He throws the now heavy satchel over his shoulder, picks up a scimitar, and starts walking.
About fifteen minutes later Sam pauses in the road, looking around thoughtfully. After a moment he turns, walks back about twenty feet, and then heads off into the woods. Not far from the road, he starts to pull away some branches and clumps of leaves, revealing some burlap sacks. He starts to dig through them, eventually pulling out two fairly hefty bags. "There's your gold, big guy," he says, handing them off to Brask. "There's also a bunch of silver utensils, dried herbs, some strange powders...not sure what any of these do. Oh, and these." He pulls out a stack of parchment, each with little scribbles of writing on it. "These are the contracts for all the people they've been taking. Don't recognize most of these...here." He hands Cynder a parchment that calls for his own abduction. There's scant information, just that the Tabaxi is to be taken alive and delivered to the predetermined meeting place. There's a vague warning about his power.
Sam stands up and starts heading back toward the road. "Grab what you want, and let's get the hell out of here. If we move at a good pace we'll only have to spend one night on the road before getting to the city. I know a good spot."
Brask grabs whatever he thinks might belong to Elka, and frowns as Sam leaves. Good luck to you, friend. He looks at Burik and Perceval. I'm headed back to Southwort to get paid. Come if you want. Or don't. He looks now at the Tabaxi who seems to be tagging along and frowns. I'm not all that keen on a four-way split, but you did your share of the fighting. Like I said, come if you want. He shrugs, apparently not caring whether the others join him or not, and carrying what he can he makes off towards the town.
"Ya'll are free to do what you want, but the clan has a way of finding things out. If they catch you in Southwort there's going to be a whole lot more of them to deal with, and none of them friendlier than Griff," he pauses for a moment to see what the others decide.
"I'll make sure you get back safe to Southwort, after all it's safer to travel in a group. I'm happy enough with a half-share. Money's not a big deal for me, just nee enough for food, lodgings, and travel. Afterwards though I plan to head to the city, sounds like I good do some good up there with these Sons of Oshait. They're not the only ones to notice a growing darkness." He then turns to Sam, "Feel free to join us for roof above your head before travelling, otherwise I'll meet you there to discuss this further."
Burik follows after Brask after getting a response from Sam, muttering some sort of prayer or spell over the bodies as he passes.
Brask shrugs at Sam. I've no problem going to Lovilra, with you or without. Was thinking of heading there anyway. But I'll be going to Southwort first, to get paid. Understand? Or are you in some kind of hurry, friend?
To Burik, he nods. Safer in a group, true enough. Lets get on then.
"I do not know why someone would be after me.. I would like to find out more about it but I agree that it will be safer if we travel together. I would like to tag along with you all for now."Cinder gathers his things and readies himself to follow the group.
(OOC: Sorry about the very delayed response guys. It was a long weekend where I'm at and things got... crazy. Haha!)
Sam bids you all farewell, and says he'll try to meet up with you when you get to Lovilra. He heads off down the woods, but quickly turns into the woods and disappears.
The hike back to Southwort is fairly uneventful. You get back into town just as the sun is setting, but as you get into the center of the village, Elka spots you and happily runs up. "Welcome back! Did you all have a successful trip then?" She asks with a sly smile.
Brask nods. Got your stuff. Killed some scum. Met some good people. He grins. A successful trip, yeah. Assuming that Elka takes them back to her shop, he hands over everything he managed to carry, and everything he persuaded Burik and Cinder to carry as well
"Good, good! Come!" She gestures toward her shop and everyone enters. She collects her things, and starts counting up the gold. "This is wonderful! I can't thank you enough. Here, I believe this is yours..." Elka hands Brasks a moderately-sized pouch containing 30 gold pieces. "I do pretty well for myself considering how far out we are from the city. But lots of folks come traveling through town. Now...meaning no offense, you all look like absolute horse shit! Can I offer you a room upstairs for the night? This ain't no inn but I have a couple of extra beds if you want to rest up. And if you need any supplies for the road, I can of course offer the best prices in town!" She smiles, pauses, and then goes back to sorting out some of the herbs and other items you brought back from the bandit cache.
"Most of kind of you to open your house to us. My name is Burik. Where should I put my equipment, miss...." He'll then put his stuff up in the room, taking a much needed rest.
Brask takes the money. Pleasure doing business with you, Elka. He heads up to the rooms with the others. You know, Burik, we never actually agreed payment terms for this job. He hands over ten gold to Burik. You might want to take more care with that. There's some unscrupulous folks about, or so I hear.
He stares at Cinder for a moment. You still here? Coming to Lovilra too? Well, doesn't hurt to have company on the roads these days. He hands Cinder ten gold as well.
Cinder grins almost awkwardly as he takes the gold. "Thank you.. I am still here. I left home looking to explore the world but got captured soon after. I still seek an adventure and although dangerous, sticking with you guys seems to be a logical choice right now... As long as you don't mind."
Brask wakes, washes and waits at the door to the outside, ready for the group to make a start to the capital soon. Sooner I put this worthless town behind me, the better, he mutters under his breath. Hmmph, a dwarf, a tabaxi and a minotaur; sounds like the start of a good joke.

Sounds like the one, replies Brask. I'll be taking that back to town. He also starts walking along the road, eyes still warily on Sam.
