Iradon leaps and stretches, catching the rim of bucket just in time to stop it falling over, then lands on the ground with a flourish. The bucket is filled with chunks of metal - Burt would recognise them as cheap fixings used in making maybe 3rd- but definitely not 2nd-best wagon wheels. They'd have made a hell of a noise if they'd tipped out. I hope no one is disappointed it wasn't cold custard or gunge. I wasn't sure how many of you were fans of Crackerjack or Noel's House Party. Inside the door there's a 10' wide tunnel that runs into the hill as far as the eye can see. Which is not very far at all, because it's really dark.
The Black Knight scratches his chin with his hammy hamds, on the outside of course because of the really awkward cylindrical helmet, whilst looking at the symbol over the door and then down at the bucket that shorty managed to catch. "Chicken!" He exclaims. "Would have sworn it was chicken. Back in my village that symbol plus a bucket, always meant chicken. Keefryed, the village was, and this guy Kent, the things he did with chickens would melt your mind. And he was a pretty good chef too. Ah, old Kent of Keefryed chickens... 't's been ages. Does look like one of his buckets though, maybe that guy's here somewhere," and walks through the door even more cautious, because of the possibility of some crazy chicken guy being nearby.

Yes, a stick that casts dim light to 10ft out. That's not very far if you're eye-looking. It's huge if you're measuring your underjunk. You might be a Tapir.
The Dark Knight moves further into the tunnel. He's not wielding a torch so he very quickly leaves the small pool of light cast by Ira's glowing stick - and due to his pigmentation, he appears to observers to melt into the darkness - though it's less unsettling because you can sill hear him. While he's being cautious, it's impossible for him to move quietly on account of him wearing both a chain shirt and chainmail. Did you think I wouldn't look at your character sheet? There's no AC bonus to wearing them both, you know, and any chafing is only going to be intensified. Around 15, maybe 20 feet into the black, he feels the wall to his left end - it's opening out into a chamber of some kind.
Greg's torch is a gamechanger - you can now see that the tunnel opens out into a square room, thirty feet by thirty feet, containing a stone block table. Stains and marks atop this slab suggest rusted objects were once arrayed on it. In the middle of the wall to the right of the entry passage, is a closed and severely rusted iron door.
Given that the Black Knight has a +1 Scabbard for a +1 sword that no one remembers him earning, I guess a hat is ok.
Burt conducts an extremely thorough investigation of the room, extrapolating data from the condensation marks on the wall, the depth of the dust on the block table, the fractal patterns of the rust flecks on the door, and concludes through a process of elementary deduction that this is a square room, thirty feet by thirty feet, containing a stone block table. Stains and marks atop this slab suggest rusted objects were once arrayed on it. In the middle of the wall to the right of the entry passage, is a closed and severely rusted iron door.
The door, being just a door, is not a valid target for EB. Your spell holds no power over it. And yet out the tongue pops, the door tastes like a three year old bread roll, like a burp after eating a wheelbarrow left out in the rain. It tastes old. The spectre who lives inside the door steps out, hand up the hilt of its ghostly sword and declares
"Varlet! Thou oughtest first purchase for me a meal at evensong! Who darest threaten my master's slumber? Who darest try to pass? For none shall! None sha- oh hey, BK, long time! What happened your arms?"
"Ah, um... you. Bit of a long story actually. I was seemingly minding me own business thinking about having a game or some such and these two, bumble heads up and hijacked what little bit of thread it seemed to be where I was and low and behold up sprang leg mimics and other most miraculous, um silly, no let's stick with miraculous sounding things. There was this guy Burt 'ere, seems to know 'is way around the bush but not much on the wood if you see what I'm saying, he comes along looking like he's going to need a bit of 'elp with the old leg mimics so you know me, thought I'd lend a hand.Which, as you can see, was a bit of a hard thing to do, what with all my None Shall Passing and all." He looks down at his arms and then back up to the spectre, "Oh... you mean my arms... just a flesh wound really. I wouldn't bother over it. Long story. Not related to the aforementioned long story which I shortend above so that you didn't have to hear the whole thing. Short of it is though, it was a limbless adventure what popped up, and well, turns out arms do come in handy so the old pig muffs here," he starts to lose his thoughts, wondering how the old fellow himself has been on so simply continues, "Eh... really, quite a long story. You can find out all about it on some guys recruitment thread. But the bigger thing here is... remind me again about how you came to be here. And where here is. And... have you seen my arms about?"

The Caped Crusader looks quickly at his garments and blushes, thought it's not noticeable what with the blood and round helmet and all. He quickly removes his chain mail because he remembered that he forgot to do that when building his character sheet. Also he has no idea when his sword got plussed but it is now plussed, so there. He feels like it was plussed somewhere earlier in the story and that you should all take his word on that because otherwise you would have to scroll back through quite a bit of recruiting thread story line. He didn't realize thought that he had a +1 scabbard for it but was quite interested to find that under his chain mail when he took that off so now will make sure things are even more dicey, diceyer, umm... have larger numbers on rolls, when he uses said weapon. It would, in any normal situation, make him have quite an impeccable weapon, but what with less things to sword, if one can use that as a verb, and more things to sword, if one were to mean the things that Burt seems to do between the bushes, he's not sure his +1 +1 will work out to his advantage quite as much as Burts little +1 seems to work out for Burt.

"Me? Oh just same old same old. The boss says 'make sure no one comes through that door for the rest of time' so I just sort of hang out here. It's a bit gloomy but it beats.... You know I can't remember what else there is to life. Not that it matters now eh? Ha ha. Funny old game, this guarding.
I'd have thought, being as the wuz chopped off stopping someone passing, your arms and legs wudda become, you know, ghost arms and legs? Like mine! You know, just till you fulfill the terms of your binding. Maybe you'll get em back when someone kills you getting past, eh? H
wotchoo doin in here, who's guarding that thing you was supposed to be stopping folk passing if your here? You're not a deserter are you BK? Not after all this time?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Burt, feeling his main character status evaporating faster than 91% rubbing alcohol tossed into the middle of an AA meeting, steps forward and clears his throat. *Ahem* Excuse me good sir, but considering your prior relationship with this darkly hued knight, perhaps you would consider, maybe, possibly, not letting us pass, of course, but maybe letting us on the other side of that door? We wouldn't pass through, we'd probably just walk.
"Pass? Knave! Speakest thee of passing? None shall pass! Seriously, BeeK, who is this guy? With the passing? Seriously? I'm starting to worry man, you're moving around instead of stopping people, you're hanging with people who don't know about not passing... Please tell me you haven't gone Frotkehler... have you?"
Iradon debates between charm, or murder, or charm then murder, or charm during murder. He settles for charm, anticipating charm then murder. So he casts charm person (DC13 wis save)
The spectre does not even bother to roll - your magic hits him with all the impact of a dandylion gone to seed, except that his garden isn't permanently ruined by the experience. It seems dead men don't make friends.
Changing the game is what this game is all about. Particularly this game where somebody even changed who's in charge of the game. That's why Dee'emm is the deity of choice, he really changed the game. And Burt too, but he's not a deity, he's a god. Greg is proud to have been a GCer, even just this once, and he's becoming pretty obsequious when he's not raging.
Anyway, not having much that he could expect to affect the specter (or tre, if you're one of those) (not that there is anything wrong with that) (except that it's ter in the rules, so if you look for tre you find nothing) he does casually position his javelin in a slightly more useful position, not like a threat or anything, just less carrying and more wielding, if you understand. One cannot really glaive anything when you're carrying the torch that changes the game.
