Hello Adventurers!! What dare I say is this campaign? What are we all doing here?
This is a 4 part journey of a much larger quest that you must follow till the end to see where it goes. This is the beginning of Tomb of Annihilation. It is ok if you have never played before, it is ok if you have done this before just do not RailRoad or ruin it for everyone else. Describe your strategies or what you would like to do. I will then make an assessment of what to do from there. Please respect others and be kind. If you are interested please DM me your character sheets so I have them on hand, when you play something you can say " I will use_____" and I will know what it does before hand having the sheets. Don't forget this is about you and what your adventure becomes. Have fun, make mistakes, get messy, and above all else DON'T DIE!
I need 2 more players that can post daily
A shocking rumor buzzes through the Forgotten Realms; a mysterious affliction is targeting those who have been raised from the dead. This wasting disease, which marches its victims back toward the death they once defied, has been dubbed the “death curse.” When this wretched sorcery claims a life, divine magic no longer revives them. Any others who fall to their demise, through natural or unnatural causes, is similarly lost to the living realm. Adventurers who wish to stop this devastation must travel to the peninsula of Chult to find the source of this death curse and destroy it. Chult is a tropical wilderness composed mostly of jungles, plateaus, impassable mountains, and belching volcanoes."
Wallace lived as an apprentice to a great dwarven blacksmith for more than a decade. His once-peaceful life was disturbed, however, when a white dragon laid waste to his home. After the attack, Wallace didn't want to just settle back down. He chose to set out as an adventurer. To see what lied in wait in the world outside his ruined home, to save people from threats like the one that destroyed his past life, and to hunt down the White Dragon that got away. Wallace has since drifted from place to place, searching for adventure. He now finds himself aboard a ship sailing to the Port of Nyanzhru, eager for what may await him there.
Belsar was trying to enjoy this trip to Nyarzhu, but he couldn't. Watching the waves made his mind was wandering again back to the last failed job of the Company of the Wyvern, How many months have passed since that tragic event in the Dreadwood region? he thought for a moment, but then said in a strong and clear voice "Bah! It's no use to think of things that cannot be undone. Nyarzhu will be a good place to start again." He proceeds then to check his equipment: a partially damaged but still good chain mail, a hand-crossbow and a greatsword.
OCC Belsar is muscolar man, 6.2" tall with fair skin with dark brown hair.
Belsar will look for a tavern near the port and start asking questions about this "death curse". Before leaving the ship he will try to find other adventurers and introduce himself.
"I'm Wallace, Wallace Freemarch. Good to meet you," Wallace greets."You've got the look of a fellow adventurer, are you headed for the nearest tavern as well?"
"Pleased to meet you Wallace. I'm called Belsar, replies Belsar, "Yes, I had my share of adventures, hopefully the next one will be a bit more pleasant and I'm also headed to the nearest tavern as soon as we reach the port." "What is your area of expertise? As you can see from this greatsword here, I'm a swordsman, but let's also say that I have some natural talent for some elemental magic."
Leslynn stares out at the water from the front of the ship, wondering why anyone would ever agree to send her of all of people to inspect this new threat to the world. As the rumors had spread, her mother had become more and more worried. Then her father died, killed by the very rumors she had been hearing about. Suddenly it was no longer a rumor, now it was real.
"Looks like that we may have one more adventurer", Belsar says to Wallace pointing to the half-elf woman. He then walks near the woman and says "Good day miss, are you too travelling to Nyarzhu for investigate this "death course" rumor? I'm called Belsar and that guy over there is my new friend Wallace. As soon as we disembark we plan to head to the first tavern and start asking around. You are more then welcome to join us if you don't have any other plans.
Leslynn jumps, taken off guard. "Oh, sorry, scared me." She tries to laugh it off. "Ya... I'm her to investigate the... rumors..." she trails off. She turns to face him, "I'm Leslynn," she holds out her hand to shake. "And I'd be happy to help, I just need to meet someone here first. My mother wanted me to talk to him." She looks back out onto the ocean and waves her hand over it, casting Druidcraft to see what the weather is going to look like today.
"Sorry it wasn't my intention to scare you." Belsar replies while shaking her hand. "Maybe it's better if we join you in your errant or at least go together to your appointment. Port cities may be sometimes a dangerous place for a lone adventurer even if I think that you can handle yourself in such situations."
"A pleasure to meet you," Wallace said, extending his hand after Belsar. "I have to agree that it just wouldn't be right leaving you to wander the port alone. We'll go with you to meet this person before we start investigating."
"Oh, um..." Leslynn trails off. "I'm not sure about that. He doesn't really like strangers. But if you insist maybe he'll be okay with it." She stops her casting after getting the information she wanted and leans her arms on the side of the ship to get a better look in the water. "My mother insisted I went to talk to him before investigating. He's her one contact out here, so talking to him means that she can talk to me if she needs to tell me something important. Just um... don't worry when you meet him."
"If your contact doesn't like strangers, we may just accompany you to the place of the meeting. I would prefer to be present just in case, but I will not force you of course. Do not worry, my career as mercenary has made me pretty open-minded, I don't judge a person by the book, but by his deeds and actions." replies Belsar.

Thank you for the introduction Belsar, welcome. You will soon be on your way to the Port. What is the first thing you hope to try upon deimbarcation?
