I'm looking for a party of four or five people that would like to play The Lost Mine of Phandelver module. This will just be the module, but could open up to more more modules if everything goes well. I'll keep the recruitment open for a few days.
Notes: - Anyone is welcome to apply - Standard array or Point buy - Standard starting equipment - Official D&D material only, please. - Able to post often. I'd like to keep the game going at a steady pace, but I know that life happens and that comes first. - Adventure will start with the party on their way to Phandalin. This is to avoid the how the party meets up section, but I can start there if players desire. - Be excellent to each other - Feel free to ask any questions
Background: Was a trainee man at arms in the local lords militia, when the old man died his vicious son took over and beatings were regular for the serfs. When Cormac finally had enough and beat the little turd for man handling the serving girls he was driven out of town, with the armour he was wearing by the other guards before the Lord Schiessen came around
Hi! Im newish to PBP but have played a fair share of 5e. I have loved PBP so far. I would love to play in Lost Mines and maybe more modules afterward.
My character is Geerblir Tomereader, a proud Svirfbeblin from Blingenstone, he is the owner and operator of a quaint but overfilled lending library in Blingenstone. As a wizard and scholar, he is constantly reading and searching for new books for his library. Literacy is very important to Geerblir and he believes everyone can learn something new.
Geerblir is 215 years old, which for deep gnomes is mid to late life. He has traveled in the past and studied for years to become a wizard and librarian. In the past 30 years however, he has remained in Blingenstone because of the library. Recently however, he has hired a manager to run the library while he travels once more.
As the party comes together I will write a hook for how he joins the party but I am excited about the possibility of playing this!
Wilson Dales is a mercenary who served with the Silent Rain group, where he learned to hunt goblins and orcs. He eventually fell in love with another elf in the group: Thierastra. They both retired and settled down in the countryside to live out their days in peace. He and she managed to adopt a series of children who were orphaned, but have two of their own. In the end, his wife fell ill and the medicine was highly expensive. Unable to afford it, Wilson set out to earn the money to support his family.
Dales' family, while likely to have little impact on the campaign, consists of Piety and Caspar (Tiefling and Aasimar twins), Korag (orc) and Kathra (Dwarf), Rinn and Ta (his children). He left Kathra and Korag in charge, as they are the eldest, followed by Piety and Caspar, and his four-year-old children. Korag and Kathra are natural rivals, which is why he knows they'll outdo one another to provide/protect the family. Piety is one of the most devout children he's ever met, and Caspar is . . . not so much. Rinn and Ta are four year olds who like to torment each other.
Anyway, Dales eventually found a job with Gundren Rockseeker's task to deliver these supplies.
Hello! I'd like to join the campaign. Although, this is my first time trying out play-by-post. I hope that won't be an issue
I'd be playing Eyrin Ashtree, young wandering ministrel that finds employment by playing music for taverns. Her instrument of choice is a wood-carved flute, a gift from her late father, who was a well-known elvish virtuoso by the name of Aldri Ashtree. Aiming to follow in her father's footsteps, she sets out on a journey with her instrument at her side to better her music. She prides herself on her flute-playing, although is aware that she has much to learn before being able to match the skill her father had.
Varis Dorn... Dorn a lineage of people of the Chondathan ethnic group, Tethyrian. Orphaned when his family was killed by the Redbrands and forced to raise himself... Varis found something was unique about him at a very young age. Unlike the human ethnic groups that were derived from the ancient Netherese, Chondathans had no strong bloodlines that had sorcerous ancestry, nor did they have significant traditions related to the arcane arts. But Varis does. Brought up in Phandalin, Varis has found himself in Waterdeep and Neverwinter... continually looking to help where he can. Trying to seek answers for his parents' death and trying to figure out just how he came to have these sorcerers ability.
Hi, I'm interested in playing. New to D&D, only played once.
Character is Shauku, a Tabaxi Monk. Forced to flee my commune, a sect of the Kensei, when it was forcefully dissolved due to conflicting ideologies. I lend my support where needed as I seek to test my training in real world scenarios and search for other remnants of my commune.
I am interested and am up for a game. I have 5 characters made, so I am flexible what party might need. This will be my first play by post, hope that won’t be an issue.
Well guys i'm excited to get started so i am going to start thank you all for your apps and have a wonderful time on your adventures! Normally I would only chose five players but I enjoyed the background descriptions so I have chosen six players:
The crowd mills about around you as everyone waits patiently in the cold morning air. All applicants were told to meet here near the south gate of Neverwinter and those who were chosen were to move out within the hour. You watch as the gruff but jovial dwarf Gundren Rockseeker, that you had all met the night before at the Driftwood tavern in answer to his posting for supply guards, steps up onto the platform near the south gate. "Alright! Good to see all you fine adventurein' folk up and about freezein' your bits off this morning for a chance at getting paid. Unfortunately, I can only hire a few of you so when you hear ya name make your way over to the right side of the platform and present yourselves to Sildar to sign my employment contract." Eyeing the crowd with a bit of child like anticipation enjoying making them wait he finally belts out "Cormac" and you watch as four individuals step forward and Gundren has to wave off the few who were confused finally pointing to the one chosen. A bit flustered now at the confusion he plows through the next names. "Eyrin Ashtree, Geerblir Tomereader, Shaukuu, Not you ya great oaf the tabaxi" yelling out at a half-orc who also step up at the name. "Varis Dorn and Wilson Dales." "The rest of you can bugger off and i'll probably hire ya next week!"
A somewhat scrawny half-elf girl saunters up the platform. Her cheeks are red from the cold, and eyes slightly groggy. She rubs her hands together to warm them up, and approaches the group to greet herself. "I'm Eyrin Ashtree! Usually I'm someone who gets hired to play for taverns, but that pays in coppers. This seemed like something a bit more exciting pay-wise and hey, more exciting in general! It's a pleasure to work with you all!" she says with a grin.
A broad shouldered human looking male makes his way through the crowd. He has a shield strapped to one forearm, javelins strapped to his back and a warhammer on his belt. His chainmail armour tinkles slightly as he makes his way up to the platform. A pale blue bandanna covers his hair as he reaches a hand out towards Gundren Well Met Mr Rockseeker sir. I am Cormac pleased to make your acquaintance. And to you too my new colleagues!
Geerblir, a small bald dark skinned creature seated on a short stool looks up as the Dwarf calls his name amongst the others. He raises his hand in acknowledgement, before looking back down at the tome he had been occupied with. A few moments later, he dog-ears the page, closes the tome and carefully places it inside of his pack. As he rises, you can see that he is quite short, with a long white mustache and beard which reaches his knees. He picks up his stool and places it also into his pack. While rummaging through his pack he retrieves a long pipe and begins to smoke as he makes his way to the platform. Arriving on the platform accompanied by a billow of smoke, Geerblir greats Gundren, "Arausamman ...Thank you for your most kind invitation to accompany your supplies wherever it is that they are going. I quite look forward to enjoying the long quiet road with a good book and a better smoke."
Geerblir looks to each of his new companions, removes his pipe, and gives a brief greeting. He then makes his way to Sildar and says, "Greetings, I would like to have a perusal of this contract before signing if you would be so kind."
With a graceful step, a medium built Tabaxi male in travelers clothes approaches from off the fringe of the crowd. He flips down the hood on his dark-brown, poncho-cloak made of some type animal hide. It reveals his brown furry face and shoulder length locs. Only a portion of his yklwa spear can be scene underneath.
"I am Shaukuu. I accept the opportunity to leave this place, and trust this job is being offered in good grace."
"Halo Cormac, aye I remember you and miss Ashtree hope you don't mind serenadein' this rabble down the road." "Shaukuu the job is indeed offered in good graces" "Geerblir as I told ya at the tavern the supplies is headed to Phandalin glad to have ya on" "Varis indeed a man should be trusted at his word but the law of the land don't care much for words but sign and I'll note you qualms" shaking his hand in turn. Turning to look around to the large covered wagon behind him Gundren yells out "Hey! Sildar you damned sloth where's that contract." You all watch as a older man clad in full armor steps around the wagon saying "Hold your horses Gunby I have to get it out of the wagon where you tossed it gods know if I will even find it." Gundren reddens at the name Gunby fury rising red to his cheeks "I told you! You call me that one more time you'll have my boot up your backside! You hear hear muffled laughter and mumbled words from Sildar as he steps up into the wagon and the clang of metal and shuffling items. (Perception: check for everyone who would like to strain to hear Slidar's response). If Gundren heard Sildar's response he definitely ignored it and after a few moments Sildar step back out of the wagon a rolled up sheet of paper in tow. "Here you go Mr. Rockseeker" Sildar say exaggeratedly then turn to address you all. "It is an honor to make your acquaintances, I am Sildar Hallwinter bodyguard and close friend to this one here." as he motions to Gundren. "If you all don't mind stepping this way we will get this signed and out of the way." Sildar set the contract on the nearby platform with quill "There has been a small change in our plans we are leaving today to get some early preparations done and your party will depart tomorrow so you will have one night at the Driftwood tavern paid for by us then you will all escort the goods early tomorrow if you would like to take a day to get to know each other better.
From behind the others, steps out a tall half-elf.."Contracts? I don't sign contracts. A handshake should suffice."His piercing blue eyes, find their way out of the long black hair covering his face."If a man can not keep his word, no paper will force that upon him." He continues to make his way to the front of the group now. You can see that he's garbed in regular, worn common attire with a long cloak that seems to glide behind him. He brushes his hair out of his face, revealing a jet black goatee to match the hair on his head. "Varis Dorn." He offers his hand.

Deleted as I've been accepted for another game and don't want to overwhelm myself with starting out having multiple going at the same time.
Thanks for your time.
