Eyrin pulls out a wooden flute from a leather pouch on her belt. She starts(attempts) to play a calming, serene tune. As she does this, she peers at Geerblir's journal with interest as he sketches.
Geerblir finishes his sketch and write up of the gem, noting that it is of illustrious quality and it's owner considers it both functional and fashionable. He notices Eyrin's glance, and never being one to let an opportunity like this slip by, he slides his chair nearer her. He pays no mind to the scratching sound it makes as he moves it, nor mind you, the fact that she is playing the flute and is unable to engage in conversation currently. He draws in a deep breathe and begins:
"ah yes, no doubt one with such fine artistic interests as yourself would be interested, nay, drawn to consider such a fine work as my compendium. Indeed, he continues as he reaches into his bag, retrieving 3 identical books, each equally worn, I have 3 more, already full. I am happy to present to you the manuscript for my book - Geerblir's Compendium of Quaint Curiosities, Trinkets, and Quality Goods. Aside from my very life, it is my most prized possession, which is why I have 3 copies - one on my person, one hidden, and one in the Lending Library I run in Blingdenstone. Tell me, have you ever had opportunity to visit Blingdenstone, or better yet, to read A Traveler's Guide and History of Blingdenstone, the paramount work on that great city?"
Slightly taken aback, Eyrin stops playing her flute.
"Er, those books seem quite nice. I haven't had the fortune to visit Blingdenstone, though maybe after we finish this job I might stop by. I'm not very familiar with the underdark, but I've heard stories that pique my interest."
Wilson Dales, a tall elf with copperlike skin wearing a dark green coat with splotches of brown and lighter green spread across it. His head is adorned with a simple green bycocket decorated with leaves and branches, though a peacock's feather peeks out on top. He wore simple brown pants and black shoes designed for forest travel. His short black hair is peeking out from under his hat. Across his shoulder is a longbow and a quiver, and at his sides are a pair of shortswords strapped to his waist by a finely crafted belt made of deerhide, though designed to easily be disguised in leaves and branches.
Dales looked up. "Looks like I got lucky today," he said aloud. Work here in Neverwinter was a bit scarcer than he'd been used to, and based on the sheer amount of applicants, he knew he might need a change of locale to get better-paid work. Seems like they're heading on an expedition, and it's likely that Phandalin probably could use a mercenary. 'course he'd use his time tonight to write to his family to explain where he was and send a bit of coin their way.
"I'm here,"he said, walking over to Gundren first, extending his hand for a shake, going down to his knees so that the dwarf could reach it. "Wilson Dales, but I prefer Dales."
Being fully accustomed to contracts as a mercenary, Dales quickly scrawled out his signature onto the paper. "Honestly, I think you should really reconsider leaving today, sir. Safety in numbers and all that. 'sides, with me at the helm, I can guide us through the forests, and avoid all those rumored bandit camps, unless you want to crash 'em, in which case I'd happily oblige. In any case, you have my bow at your service. This ten gold'll be one of the best investments you've made.""And hopefully one of the easiest,"he thought to himself.
Cormac orders an ale and some stew and sits at the table. He watches the interaction between the others with a smile on his face. Interesting company he thinks to himself. Friends! A toast to a successful venture and easy money! May the road be empty and the weather pleasant for tomorrow we leave for Phandalin! He chugs his ale and slams the stein on the table
"It's a tune called The Amber Sunset. I learnt it back in the Dalelands. Something to remind me of home, although it seems I've gotten a tad rusty at it."
Due to not having a drink, she raises her porridge bowl to Cormac's toast.
As Shaukuu watches everyone join in the toast with high spirits, he feels consumed with a mixture of rage and anxiety, despite appreciating Cormac's words. He pulls a sheet of faded tan paper from his pack, folds it in half, tears it in half, and returns half to his pack. He then retrieves a small inkwell from his calligrapher's supplies, dips a single claw into it, and returns it to his pack. He takes a minute to scribble on the piece of paper and retracts his claw. As he rolls the piece of paper into a small scroll he lets out a sigh of relief.
He then stands, gives a respectful nod to the group and says:
"To success indeed. Until the morning then, rest well."
He leaves the small scroll on table and heads to his room to meditate before sleep.
Scroll:
As I travel with you whom I've met this day/ I'll do my best to quell any threats that come our way/ And should I make a grave mistake, or worse, should I fall/ Know that I intend the best for each of you one and all. -Shaukuu of the Mashairi
Geerbril joins in the toast, noting the curious look upon the Tabaxis face, although he himself is feeling quite sleepy. He yawns, and makes his way upstairs, bidding each of you good sleep.
Strange reaction that.... Ah well free dinner and lodging is good for me. Speaking of which ladies and gents I’ll be off now to test out the bed. See you all bright and breezy in the morning. Cormac gets up and heads to his bed
Varis watches as the rest of the group retires for the evening. He grabs the scroll that Shaukuu left and puts it away in his cloak. He finishes his stew and his ale. As he stands he takes a look around, soaking it all in... This ought to be interesting. Varis retires to his room....

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
You all awaken to the wondrous smells of cooking eggs, sizzling sweet brown sugar bacon, warm bread baking, soups, stews, fresh baked fish and the light conversations of other patrons on the floor below. As you all know the wagon full of supplies that you will be transporting to Phandalin today was left in the stable house beside the Inn to be looked after till you were ready to leave. Gundren and Slidar wave to you all as they road out the gates on two black mare's while your the group made their way back to the Inn for a good night's rest in comfort before their days on the road. The morning has come your task lies ahead of you.
Geerblir is awake before the sun, as is his habit, and he makes his way down the stairs slowly, creaking as he goes. Despite being an early riser, he is not a morning person. He takes a seat nearest the hearth and pulls out his spellbook as he prepares for the day. He also retrieves his pipe and begins to smoke.
His mood improves dramatically as others begin to wake up, and particularly when he notices the smell of breakfast. He puts away his spellbook and pulls out another Tome which he seems delighted to read: Kobolds: Habit, History, and Culture
As breakfast is offered Geerblir addresses the waiter warmly, "if its quite alright, i will take a double portion of both bacon and eggs, although you can keep the fish for the other patrons just the same."
The burly dwarf from the night shift has been replaced by a Half-Orc man who tilted his head in your direction when you made you way down the stairs and replies warmly "A double portion it is sir will be right up anything to drink for your morning?"
Shaukuu enters the dinning area and is initially indifferent to having a meal until his senses isolate the smell of the fresh baked fish. He orders from the half-orc, joins Geerbril and greets him.
"Good morning, Geerbril, is it? Should be a good day, eh?"
Dales, being an elf, had to sleep little. Thus, he spent his night writing a letter to his family along with his last bits of coin. (He's going to send out all the coin he has) - after all, he would be setting out on the road, and wouldn't need to sleep in an inn until they hit Phandalin. He steps downstairs and orders a plate of eggs with bacon, and some coffee. "Well, gentlemen, are we prepared to go out? I would propose we assign each of us to a location beforehand. That way, we can each fulfill responsibilities. I also recommend that we don't get intoxicated before we set out. Long walks make hangovers worse. We'll need a cart driver, and someone watching the road with him on the cart. We could even take alternating shifts as well. I honestly don't mind being a forward scout to avoid any unpleasantness to either address or avoid, whichever we choose. My name is Dales. Wilson Dales."

At every session, I say, "Everyone's here, except Waluigi."
Good morning Dales, I am Shaukuu. It seems to be a sound plan. If no better suggestions are shared, I agree. I suppose I would take watch with the driver, unless there's a better position recommended for me.

Shaukuu responds to the barmaid:
"Yes, you're freshest fish, please."
