"Well, for me it's a lot of digging of counting in a dusty warehouse. Unfortunately, there isn't very much in the way of supplies, especially magical supplies. I did add requests for the outbound ships, but it will be months before they arrive. Rope we have, and I have asked the blacksmith to make these spikes and rings for climbing. Pitons, I think you called them. There is a bag of 20 by the door, and three lengths of 50' rope."
Uncharacteristically Corum stumbles down the stairs much later than he normally would. He grabs a tankard and a cup filling the tankard with ale and the cup with water. Sitting down he looks around at the others, So when are we heading out? And takes a big (for him) drink from the tankard.
Finishing my breakfast, "Thank you Altaira, and it sounds like you are always busy as well. When we come back where are the places we should look for you as I am sure none of have any confidence in the people we have seen the other day and would rather report our findings to you"
Turning to Corum, "You OK? And I guess we can leave as soon as we are all ready, probably the earlier the better."
Navi too would look to Corum with concern. "Aye if you're good to go. I am too." and Navi would go to the door where the items were piled up. She'd haul them over to the group and distribute them evenly.
Corum stretches in his seat finishes the ale and starts sipping the water, Yup I am good friends just wanted to sleep in a little bit longer since I am unsure when we will come back.
Georges yawned and placed his mandolin over his shoulder. "I just hope we don't encounter any more oversized insects." he paused for a moment, then smiled and continued with "After all, they really bug me out! Get it?"
(I tried posting a couple days ago to have Navi react to Georges pun, but then it flagged my post as spam. I tried another post and it was flagged as spam again. So Hopefully this works this time! I agree, we go back to where we were and continue from there?)
Corum gets up from where he was eating breakfast puts his dishes where they need to go. As he walks back over to the group he asks, Who is ready to hit the road? I don't know about y'all but I'm pretty curious as to what we will find next. Only slightly subdued now Corum grabs his gear and says to Altaira Get some sleep miss, hopefully when we return we will bring back some more mysteries for you, and maybe an a start to some answers.
Navi would let out a snort at Georges pun. She's been standing, arms crossed, ready to go since she passed around the rope and pitons to the boys. She'd give Altaira a polite nod, agreeing with Corum's suggestion for her to sleep and head for the door. "Aye, I better get teh use my axe this run!" Navi would shout back to them with an exaggerated arm gesture for them to follow.
Bren nods and follows out the door. “I see your frustration, but I’m honestly praying that you don’t have to. Any easy trip wouldn’t be a bad thing either.”
Opening the door you are hit with a sense of deja-vu, as clouds have moved in over the night and a fine mist falls continually. As you exit through the makeshift gate, you note that Via, along with to other guards are in their perch watching the forest. Via acknowledges you with a nod of his head, but is otherwise silent.
The 3 mile trip back to where you left the road is beautiful but uneventful. Excepting, now familiar scurrying sounds and what you take as bird calls in the forest, there are no other signs of life. Leaving the old road, it takes most of the next hour to traverse the rougher terrain back to the site of the Mantis encounter by the stream. The bugs remains have disappeared, testimony to the existence of unseen scavengers.
Continuing on, the morning remains uneventful as you reach the site where the tower's lone ring of stones can be seen from the game trail.
The remains of the (shall we call the giant lizard bats?) have been mostly eaten during the night (probably by their cave-mates), and the remaining creatures have returned to the cave. Otherwise, the area seems undisturbed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While Corum did his inspection of the area, Navi would do her own. She’d take a sweep around the area to inspect the local foliage and plants to familiarize herself with some, and maybe if she was lucky, maybe she might find something of interest ie. medical herbs or edible fungus, roots or fruits.
Nature: 2
After her sweep, she’d want to get her bearings and look for available trails to navigate the group down when they’re ready to continue beyond where they’ve ventured previously.

Ulrich will be keeping an eye out for anything dangerous potentially sneaking up on us while we are searching around, "Did we want to travel up the river to find out where the source is coming from? Anyone have any luck finding anything interesting?"
Many of the plants are the same as found on Faerun, but the number and variety of ferns is greater than you have encountered on the mainland. Like most of the forest, game trails run here and there from the main trail you have been following. The trail you had been following continues in a west by northwesterly direction.

OCC: The stream is some distance behind you now.
No one sings out that they have found anything of interest.
