Stonehill Inn is filled copious Phandalin residents whom of which are conducting their typical business. Socializing, order food and drinks, pondering their life choices, etc. Amidst the group is an outsider, one whom has never ventured to this town before. A dwarven man who is sitting at one of the tables with a flagon of mead in his grasp. His slick bald head glimmers when light beams on it. His flowing auburn beard rests easy as he spills bit of his beverage on it with each drink. The outfit he's wearing consists of material he's acquired from his hunts. Green leather armor that was skinned from a bear, the armor has a fur trim that was salvaged from a dire wolf. His boots are toeless, much like how his gloves are fingerless. He has a longbow and a spear strapped to his back, with a quiver of arrows and an explorers pack on his hips.
"Ah nocked mah arrow, peered doon th' sights as ah tracked th' bear thro' Ardeep Forest. Th' bear wis oblivious as ah itched closer 'n' closer. Ah swiftly shot mah arrow, 'n' pierced his hert fae 120 feet!" the dwarven man says enthusiastically. His foreign accent is certainly a culture shock to the residents of this town as the dwarven man tells his story. He's sitting at a table of civilians that he's intriguing with his hunting stories as he continues to chug down mead. "A'm waantin' ye tae mind mah name lads, Thrann Wildhammer. Ah lik' tae explore 'n' hunt wild gam. Dae ony o' ye ken o' ony places that a jimmy lik' me needs tae visit, or o' ony wild beasts that needs huntin'?" Thrann asks curiously as he finished chugging down his flagon of mead. He rests his forearm on the table and ganders between each of the civilians closely to see what they have for him.
I sure need a drink after a journey like this. Archie, Herman , first round is on me. Kelden says upon spotten the Inn. He enters the building and is immediately scaning the interior for people that might be a threat to him or his purse. His eyes Rest on a bald dwarf for a second who was just spilling half his drink all over himself while telling a Story to the other patrons at his table. Then he head of to get some drinks for the group.
Archie’s eyes widen as he has been lagging behind Kelden. It’s hard to keep the pace when your head is on a swivel taking in everything going on. The boy, never have left Neverwinter, much less the castle walls was fascinated by such the self sufficiency of the town. Bursting through the doors, watching Kelden get some drinks; Archie goes to find a table.
Sitting by the dwarf regaling of his tales. He responds in dwarvish “Fine trophy that should’ve been, what did you do with it?”
Finding his way into the Stonehill Inn, Waltyr makes his way through the room until he can find a spot at the bar. He motions at the barkeep for two flagons and slides them the necessary coin. He offers the other flagon to Nikolaus if he had followed him to the bar. Waltyr turns and scans the room, taking in the sights and sounds of the mining town. He keeps his ears open for any gossip or tales being told while he takes careful drinks from his flagon.
His ears perk up as he hears the ending of a hunting tale told by the leather and fur covered dwarf. Impressed with the dwarf's accomplishment, Waltyr motions for the barkeep and requests that the dwarf has his flagon refilled. Reaching back into his coin purse, he pulls out a few extra copper to help expedite the service. When delivered, Waltyr raises his own glass as a salute to Thrann.
Thrann turns his head and raises an eyebrow as he notices the human speaking his native tongue. "Oi, tis nae ilka day that ah see a human that kin speak dwarvish." he says to Archie being a bit impressed. "See whit a'm sportin'? that's whit ah did wi' it. Ate th' rest o' her."he proclaims while stroking the fur that hugs the nape of his neck that drapes into a hood. "Care tae dram wi' us laddie?" Thrann politely asking Archie to join him and the other patrons at this table.
Realizing that his flagon of mead is empty, he sighs. Before he can flag down the barmaid, he sees that she's already delivering another flagon. "Aye." he says cheerfully as more alcohol is served to him. Thrann peers ahead to see another man raising their glass. Thrann raises his newly acquainted flagon in response. "Cheers mate."
Nikolaus following Waltyr to the bar quickly gets lost in the dwarfs retelling of his hunter and gladly accept the flagon the looks back to Waltyr and say “Thanks I’ll get the next one! That dwarf must be one hell of a shot to have hit that bear from 120 feet. Maybe we can convince him to tag along on one of the more dangerous and more expensive jobs ehh.”
Kelden returns with the drinks and to find Archie Sitting next to the dwarf. He slams the beer down in front of Archie glancing at the dwarf and says with a grin: Archie, I see you made a friend here. Is there room for two more at this table? Kelden turns around to Herman. Herman, I'm supriesed that I have to invite you twice to a free drink, take a seat and drink your beer before Archie does. He starts laughing and turns to the dwarf to give him a closer look, deciding that he doesn't seem like the kind of person who would ask for trouble after having a drink to much.
Waltyr nods at Nikolaus and says, "Always a good idea to have someone with that level of skill on your side. Seems he's gaining the attention of some others as well. Best we get to convincing now before he's agreed to another group's offer." Waltyr begins to make his way to the table where Thrann was telling his tale.
"Cheers! Thrann you said? My name is Waltyr. My friend and I just arrived in town and we're hoping to pick up a bit of work to earn some coin. Could use someone with your talents if the work around here is anything like I've seen in other smaller towns."
Walter moves to take a seat at the table attempting to find some room without displacing anyone already there. Seeing that Thrann has taken up conversation with a few others, Waltyr takes a moment to stretch his legs and listen.
Thrann grins widely upon noticing that he's drawing the attention of several of the patrons. As more folks move to his table, some of the regular civilians of the town walk away, opening up more seats. "Aye aye, tak' a seat. Hae a dram lads." Thrann speaks enthusiastically as they gather around his table. He takes a drink of his mead while Waltyr is introducing himself.
"Ah wis juist keekin tae fin' wirk masell. A'm always up fer adventurin'. Hae ye git anythin' in mynd?"Thrann scans each individual closely as they make their seats. Looking to see what sort of equipment and weapons they're carrying as he tries to measure their threat level. Thrann is typically cautious of other adventurers, so he takes the moment to attempt to read their body language and speech habits to profile them.
Following behind Waltyr, Nikolaus eagerly ask Thrann "Where did you learn to shoot like that I would love to learn mind if I sit?" Turning to the others at the table "Hi, I'm Nikolaus it's an honor to meet you."
As Thrann looks over Waltyr, he would see a man in his very late 20s wearing light travelling gear. Across his back is a worn quarterstaff that Waltyr doesn't seem to need for walking. Looking closely, Thrann may see the tips of several darts that Walytr keeps tucked into a pocket on his vest. He also has a small backpack that you surmise is what carries most of his odds and ends on the journey to town. Waltyr doesn't appear to be much of a threat and it makes you wonder a bit on how he safely made the trip.
Thrann would notice that there's a slight dialect accent to Waltyr's speech that makes it seem as though the human isn't from this region.
"My friend here actually spotted a board down the street when we entered town that looked like it may have had a few jobs nailed to it. We haven't made our way over to see if anything looked worth the while yet." Waltyr settles into his seat and takes a few more drinks from his flagon. He makes a bit of room for Nikolaus to find a seat without issue. Waltyr instinctively attempts to reach out and touch the fur.
Archie nods as the drink is placed before him, a nod of appreciation to Kelden as to not miss any of the transactions occurring at the table. His eyes widen as large as they can get to Kelden once the topic of jobs start up. An urge to volunteer to join. Kelden has seen the twitch in Archie’s hands before, barely containing himself to show of his skills as to toss their names in for the jobs.
Thrann nods his head as Waltyr mentions the Posting Board in town that may have potential quests. "Ah must've missed th' boord oan mah wey in." Thranm says as he takes another drink of his mead. "We kin go check that oot efter. Tell me, whaur ye lads from?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When looking at Kelden, Thrann sees a tall muscular man in well made and well kept chain mail, which has obviously seen some battle already. A shield is strapped to his back with a crest showing two griffons holding up a jug that is puring out water wich forms a small river. He entered the Inn with a heavy warpick at his side which he now keeps close to his body using its head as an armrest. Most of his armor and weaponry is decoratad with cavalry themed engravings.Thrann gets the sense that Kelden is cautious about his suroundings and mainly wants to keep himself and the others of his group out of trouble.
Kelden turns to Waltyr,Nikolaus and Thrann. Gentlemen, I' may interupt you there. But where do I keep my manners, let me introduce myself first. My name is Kelden Faroso Siegfried von Fellbach, Kelden will do for now. I have seen the two of you on the road today, you were not to far ahead of us. We all had a long journey today, lets not waste this evening for business. There will be plenty of time for that tomorrow and I am certain the board you mentioned will still be there in the morning. Thrann just entertained us with this incredible story, which I doubt is true for he seems not to be able to hit his own mouth with the mead he is drinking without spilling half of it. So sit and listen or share a story yourself, you look like you have seen a bit of the world already. Let's keep business for tomorrow. Kelden starts laughing and takes a sip of his drink.
However, some time later, Kelden will leave the table and organize a rooms for three people in the Inn if possible and he will try to make his way to the board outside without the others noticing, to get a glimps of what kind of problems the town is facing, to get an idea of the threat level in the area and to estimate what would be nescessary to be succesful in completing them.

Thrann tilts his head upon hearing Kelden accuse him of telling a false story. He sits back further into his chair as he clears his throat. "Oi, whin a'm sober, ah hae th' eye of a blood hawk. Whin a'm inebriated, then mah eye-hand coordination is a wee bit skewed."he exclaims with a hicc-up afterward.
"If th' bear hunt story is tae unbelievable fer ye, then ah hae somethin' else fer ye. Whin ah wis young, ah wis oan a hunting trip wi' mah ol' man on a ootdoors trip near Mirabar. We wur pacing alang, 'n' we saw a dragon battle in th' sky. Two ancient dragons. A gowd dragon 'n' a rid dragon wur battling it oot. How did ah react? Ah grabbed mah dad's spear, 'n' ah threw it at thaim. Jalouse whit, ah skelp yin! it stuck tae thair tail." Thrann tells the story excitedly as he takes another drink of mead.
"Pity th' dragon didnae notice it. Th' spear wis basically a skelf tae a dragon. Ye cuid ainlie jalouse how furious mah ol' man was."
After Kelden’s assessment of the story Archie sits back in the chair skeptical of what he has been hearing, the look of amazement falls from his face. After he takes a sip of al he shrugs and smiles at Kelden. Looking back at the table he will use minor illusion to make a small gold dragon with a spear sticking out of its tail wander across the table.
It's gotten rather late, and most of the locals have filtered out. The barkeep is cleaning up behind the bar.
Kelden is not around at this moment. You think you may have seen him slip out.

Umbrage Hill Quest. “The local midwife — an acolyte of Chauntea named Adabra Gwynn — lives by herself in a stone windmill on the side of a hill a few miles south of Phandalin.
