How would you like to travel? On foot it would be a 13-day journey, however you would not been seen as quickly. With horses your travel takes only 4 days, but would be more obvious.
“I think this’ll be a walking journey to start. Easier to get lost in a crowd, make us a bit more forgettable. Keep our profile low for a bit longer. Any bright ideas to help that cause, this isn’t the time to hold back.” Brill walks towards the city gate.
"I think you're right. We should walk." Gryok scratches his beard. "Wait a second! Is that a pun about me being smaller than you!" He demands to know while running after Brill.

“It wasn’t, and I’m pretty thrilled you’re short. Smaller targets get filled with arrows less often. Try not to disabuse me of that notion. A short life is a long life.”
Erred laughs at this. "Yes... unless we have a legitimate reason to be there, best to avoid unnecessary attention. Perhaps, though, it might be worth putting some thought towards legitimate enterprises, in the future?"
"Hmm... I could pass myself of as a Blacksmith and you could pose as my assistants, apprentices and guards. I learned how to work a smithy and swing a hammer as a young lad."

Brill turns to Erred with a raised eyebrow. “Alright, you have my attention. What do you have in mind? Some sort of cover story?”
"I'm just saying, the line between merchants and war profiteers blur on the front, and it's quite possible to secure lawful contacts for goods and services of all kinds from technically antagonistic parties, if the proper paperwork and persuasion ate presented amenably. However, I note that we have no such contracts, or resources for exchange, though our good dwarf may be able to make some inroads should be offer his services as a handyman - perhaps a blade sharpener, a strap fixer, or what have you. Depends on the situation. And where there's a situation, there's, well, opportunity. That's all I meant. Simple business principles, really."
De'ran just looks amused as his partners discuss the principles of business. "I suppose we can have 13 days to decide if our friend Gryak is a renowned blacksmith traveling the world over with his crew of merry men. But about the delineation between business and war, what makes one different than the other? IF we approach as businessmen, they can become hostile. If we approach as soldiers, they can become hostile. Shaking his head "Time really is our decider. It is a sensitive matter I am sure, and although the target may not know that we are coming... we can not assume that he will still be there in 2 weeks time."

“Easy De’ran. As they say, ‘Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.’ Taking our time now could save our hides later. The time will come to put aside patience, and we’ll be there together. Makes me glad to have you. A man - err... elf, I s’pose. Well, an elf who can keep his eyes on the goal and seize it with speed and might no matter his fears is a good ally to have.”
Brill thumbs at his stump deliberately at this, looking De’ran in the eyes as though he’s proud of his wound, no matter how much it pains him.
De'ran nods and then runs a finger down his scars that run from his cheek, through his lip and up to his nose. "To serve the greater good. Onward and forward always."
As you all make your way to the city wall, you pass the people of the capital, the inns, blacksmiths and stores. You make your way through the city gates, the guards posted there giving you a salute as you pass through. The road is still wet after the heavy rain of the day before, but the weather seems promising for this day. On your day on the road you dont pass many other people, mostly farmers transporting they‘r goods to the market.
The next stop for the day would be the Poperro inn alongside the road. If you have plans for the nights rest, feel free to do so.
OoC: Danvan Fembis gave you all individually a small bag filled with 15 gold, specifically for lodging.
"Alright alright alright. Now, I know that we were given a few measly gold pieces for lodging, but the weather's rather fair, a night under the stars won't kill you, and where there is an inn, there's usually gambling. Need I say more? I daresay we could all use some extra money, one way or another."

Brill gives a long, steady look at Erred.
“Your pastimes are your own, which I will neither condone or condemn. But if you get locked up, beaten up, robbed or otherwise unable to do your part in this mission, I will make sure you regret it.” He then breaks into a wry smile “but if you have a good time and make it back all the better. Knock yourself out.”
"I'll keep an eye on him." Responds De'ran "We elves don't sleep much anyways." He smiles. "There's a smell of adventure in the air tonight. Silvanus has willed it so."
Erred claps a few times. "Bravo! That's the spirit. What's a journey without a little fun? A little risk. Anyone care for a few practice rounds tonight?"
Erred scuttles after them, hits little legs making at least two steps for each of their strides. He remains, for lack of a better word, twitchy.

(OoC: pretty sure the DM’s indication via the general is that we don’t have any worries about time or locating this first guy?)
