As a reaction, Tovar would like to retroactively impost disadvantage on one of the attacks against Ravi, using the protection feature interposing his large, round shield between the skittering horrors and Ravi's armor!

Gunnar turns toward the bugs and unloads a fire dart into the creature. However, he’s going to Sharpshooter this one! Attack: 21 Damage: 16 piercing damage + 6 fire damage.
Gunnar then shouts, “Gullinbursti! Defensive mode, engage! Prevent injury to User ‘Ravi!’”
The boar shorts and charges the bug that Gunnar shot, Attack: 10 Damage: 7 piercing damage. Gullinbursti will also impose disadvantage on future attacks against Ravi, using his reaction.

If both hits on Ravi land:
Ravi winces and lets slip a stream of Old Dwavish like cool water quenching steel, healing the wound in his side for 7 damage with a healing word.
He then brings down his warhammer once again on the nearest bug.
Attack: 16 Damage: 6 bludgeoning
If Tovar blocks the crit:
Ravi buries his hammer in the stone and brings down Moradin's Anvil. A whistling sound fills the cavern for a moment, shortly followed by a flaming golden anvil which crashes from the ceiling and into the nearest bug!

Seeing the blow land in spite of his interposed bulk, Tovar resets his shield in front of him and, with a massive breath, deals two heavy blows with his axe! If the big bug monster is not yet dead, direct his first attack there and his second towards one of the smaller bug creatures. If the big bug has fallen, crisped by Ruby's expert magics, then he will turn both blows to one of the small creatures!

With his first strike the axe buries itself deep within the head of the monster, when he pulls the axe out again and pulls it back to strike again the creature collapses.
Behind the two front liners a blur of green scales comes rushing forward, staff raised to crack onto the head of one of the smaller pests.
Attack: 6 Damage: 9
Though the lizard misses his target the bug falls to the ground as a crossbow bolt makes its way clean through its abdomen.

Ruby doubles over as another wave of energy flows through her, this time watching as a ball of fire springs from the end of her wand towards the large creature. Same process, different result... While these spells were tiring her out physically, her mind raced with the possibilities open to her. The cold sweat on her temples makes her shudder slightly as she aims her wand at one of the smaller 'insects', stumbling backwards to move away from them.

The ice cold beam misses its target as the two remaining lesser monsters lunge at Ravi, all while Gullinbursti does its best to ward of the attack of one of them.

Gunnar shouts, “Gullinbursti, provide an opening!” Gunnar uses his Bonus Action to command the boar. He then Readies a crossbow shot for when the pig gives advantage.
Gullinbursti chases after one of the remaining bugs, Helping. Gunnar then fires with Sharpshooter, Attack: 11 Damage: 20 piercing damage + 2 fire damage
The crossbow bolt whirs through the air into the cave beyond, barely missing its target. However the final bugs are squished by a mighty warhammer and with the combined efforts of the party you easily take out the final bug before it can do any major harm.
You believe you are safe, for now.

"Are they all dead?" Ruby wide eyes dart around the room, strands of hair stuck to her forehead and cheeks by sweat, ears straining for the sound of more insects.
From their new vantage-point in the middle of the bug ridden caves the party can see a new cluster of eggs, this one unhatched. Each of the massive eggs are adhered to the floor with a similar white substance to the one that Ravi and Tovar found in the fake wall a few minutes earlier. Now that the heat of combat has subsided you feel another heat. The room is warm. Really warm and damp. Those of you who wear armour probably feel the heat the most and you just now realise how sweaty you are even though the fight barely lasted a minute.
The Cycles spores cling to the gooey innards that are spilled across the cavern floor and will probably start decomposing the organic matter in rather quickly, the damp, warm environment is perfect for fungal growth.

Gullinbursti enters a large chamber with two pillars left in the middle. The automaton takes a trip around the room and notices several interesting things. A new cluster of eggsacs in the south western corner, most of them hatched but two of them are still an unscathed whole shimmering ball of dark green. Right next to it is a hole, maybe large enough for the smaller ones to dig crawl through. There are two other of these small tunnels in the room, none of you all of them too narrow for you to pass through though. The half rotten, half eaten corpse of a human is torn open in the southern end of the room, dark blood forms puddles around it. Most of the soft inner tissue and organs are missing but the face is still recognisable as a man. In the norhtern end there is a large cluttered pile of tools, weaponry, rocks, scrap metals and splintered wood. Some bones even portrude out from the pile.
Then there is the large.. egg? Cocoon?.. A large mass of the same white coop coveres thick gooey cocoon in the north eastern corner of the chamber. Strings of the same adherent substance is pulled to the ceiling and to the walls around it. Glueing it firmly in place on the floor with no possible way for it to be moved around. The mass of sticky goop is probably large enough to fit an enitre horse and two gnomes. At least. The walls right by the cocoon and the entire eastern wall itself radiates heat. It is uncomfortable to say the least.

Following the others very closely, Ruby warily eyes the eggs as they move through the cavern. On spying the bedraggled corpse, she quickly positions herself behind Tovar to block her view of it, before blurting out a question to take her thoughts elsewhere.
"Or claim one for... medical research? It could prove useful for the treatment of the minors. And given the number of eggs, it seems these tunnels remain occupied. But, yes, friend Ruby. We should destroy at least one of the eggs."
Gunnar follows the group into the area, having seen that Gullinbursti is still alive, “Agreed. Say what you want about these creatures, but harvesting some would be a wise move. Their anatomical design, plus that acidic fluid, would serve to benefit some items that I have in the works.”

"This appears to be the case. This one will inspect these creatures."
The Cycle heads to one of the creatures, inspecting it and gathering a few of its spines and anything else of note.
Nature: 10
"These creatures are new to this one. There is nothing of its type it has seen before."
The cycle then proceeds to reach into a pouch and gather something in its hands, which it spreads over the corpses of the animals.
"The body is dead, but they live on in the Cycle and in that which their bodies feed."
(Sprinkling some spores and crap over the bodies.)
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
