The party walks through the streets. The tieflings' armors clink as they move, making more noise than Yuldra and Varis. Surprisingly, the infected nearby don't notice them. Are their perception really that low? You find your way to the abandoned house that Varis got the rations from.
Yeah there are furniture here that you can barricade the doors with. The windows will be more tricky to block off though. You'll need to find planks from somewhere. Maybe you can pull off the ones on the ground?

If you are within your carrying capacity, there is a total of 40 days worth of rations that are still edible.
(I could carry about 20 days worth...did I happen to see a place that looked like we could hole up and rest relatively safely?)
Back and ready to DM and chew bubblegum. And I'm alllll outta bubblegum.
There are a bunch of building which, though not fortified on their own, can be made secure by salvaging the decaying furniture within.
Varis will make his way back to the group, pass out some food, and tell them we can get to some shelter for a rest.

Endurance is great at making noise should we wish to attract a bunch of attention on the way to a safe house
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Passing out food: 5 Rations added to everyone's character sheet.
At least we found something he's good at.

(passive stealth of 5, using the rules of disadvantage meaning -5 to passive, definately good at making noise)

So... what action are you guys going to take?
We're waiting for Varis to lead us to a safe house I think. And then boarding it up.
Do you need Stealth rolls?

Only if you're trying to hide.
Yep...let's do that. Can Varis lead them the same route he took and give them advantage on the check?

Anything in the house we can use to Resident Evil 4 this thing and block the doors and windows?
