The dragonborn releases a pent-up sigh. "Sorry. I am Halda," she rasps. "Forgive my nerves. I have already been attacked by bandits on the way in to town, and so far the people here have proven...uncultured at best. One would think it would be understood that dragonborn are not dragons, and that the chromatic color of a dragonborn's scales do not coincide with the evil of dragons. I just came here to visit family, but all I see are stares."
OLA:
There is a flicker of recognition in Surruk's eyes as she considers the name. "The name sounds like one that I've heard in my excursions to Greenhall. I have very few contacts within, however. There are only a small handful of us that are even allowed to traverse the Quivering Forest, let alone Greenhall within. And no, the elves of Greenhall have a unique relationship with the fey of the forest. My interest is in making sure that none in Phlan unintentionally break the pact, and that none of the fey give them reason to," she answers.

"...surrounded in padding, but in glass, and have to be cautious," you hear the man saying as you sidle up to the table. However, your visit is not well-received, and the dwarf woman begins kicking toward the table leg, trying to shoo you away.
Some part of Ola still remembered that she is here to buy Uragum some time for his magic, but the conversation turned out to be quite engaging. "Greenhall, yes. I am supposed to visit it one of these days to meet Faecyne Ortellian. It's a relieve to know elves there are not in danger. Does this weapon means you are the guardian of Quivering Forest?" She nodded at the purple bow.

Zelra nods understandingly, though she can't help but be still be suspicious of the dragonborn's nervousness. "Ha! Yeah, Phlan's not a place to come for 'cultured ' people. Phlan is a place with a lot of adventurers and people looking for jobs though. Why don't you hire someone to protect you while you're in town?"
"That's not really the right word for it. I don't guard the forest so much as simply patrol it. The forest and the fey within it are more than capable of defending themselves; in fact, they have defended Phlan on more than one occasion, which is why the folk around here respect the pact as much as they do and stay out of the forest. The fey are powerful allies, but even more powerful enemies - but, there are new visitors to Phlan every day, and not all are aware of the pact, so my duty is to ensure that no one unwittingly disrupts the peace," Surruk replies.
Glancing to her bow, she explains, "My bow may look special, and it is, but it does not signify anything. Its color comes from the wood of the Morcant Burl. It's very rare, and grows only within the Quivering Forest."

From a safe distance, it's difficult to hear what little conversation the two are having, but one thing is clear: The human is trying as hard as he can to remain unnoticed, using loud moments in the tavern to speak, and speaking quietly while doing so.

"You can trust a mercenary as far as you can throw them. I'm used to being on my own, and I'll be fine so long as I remain cautious,"Halda answers. "If you don't mind, I would like to finish my meal now."
For Zelra:
Halda seems legitimately terrified of her surroundings, and is very defensive, but she also seems to be putting on a bit of an act with her innocent demeanor. If someone was attacked twice by bandits while traveling alone, they must be capable in a fight.

URAGUM:
Ten minutes pass, and the bar still seems intact. You complete the ritual casting of your spell, and don't detect any magic within your immediate vicinity by the kitchen.
After the bartender hands out the drinks he's ordered, Arnald raises his glass in toast "May you live for as long as you want, and never want for as long as you live!" before downing his drink.
He then looks at the halflings, "Thanks for letting me join you. Please continue with your stories. I want to join in your fun, not ruin it." Turning to the bartender, "Another round for myself, please."
OCC: Apologies for my posting frequency being so low recently.
With having completed his ritual. Uragum makes his way back to the dinning area. Calming he he takes a slightly round about way back to his chair. Taking note of any and all magical signatures he sees and their strength.
Seeing Uragum return to the table, Zelra nods towards Halda. "Oh, yeah yeah. Sure. No probs. Have fun eating your food and sorry for freaking you out." She makes her way towards the table and sits next to Uragum. "The dragonborn over there is kinda sus. She seems to be hiding something but I don't know what. She's super nervous and claims its because she's been attacked twice but I don't trust it."
On his way back to an out-of-eyesight place to return to normal, Sylyra crawls by the pair and tries to see if the man is carrying something suspicious.
"So many thing I am supposed to know by heart and yet never herd of," Ola noticed Uragum's return and raped up the conversation. "Thank you for that conversation, I would leave you to your dinner. If you ever feel like talking - you can find me here of in the Temple. Would gladly show you around the town, though I have a feeling even that you know better than I do. Was truly nice to meet you, Surruk."
She returned to the group. "The bow is just a rare wood from the Quivering Forest. And it does not look like Surruk (the elf) is the one."
The halflings oblige, turning back to themselves and continuing their odd speech. Their language and inflection seems very similar to Common, but the words themselves make no sense, yet they clearly understand each other.

URAGUM:
Your circuitous route around the room reveals a number of magical auras.
As you pass by Ola, speaking with the wild looking elf, you note a faint aura leaking from her rucksack.
One of the older human women dining together is wearing a necklace that radiates magic, though not any specific aura.
Something in the old human man's pack radiates magic, which rests at his feet while he speaks with the dwarf woman across the table.
The half-elf man dining alone is jotting notes with a magical pen of some sort, though again the aura does not reveal any specific school of magic.
One of the halflings near Arnald wears a belt pouch that radiates faint magic.
The only table that seems to have no magical items about it is that of the dragonborn speaking with Zelra.

OLA:
"Thank you for the conversation, Ola do Mari," Surruk says. "Phlan is not so large a place. Perhaps on my next leave I will pay visit to the temple."
Not seeing a way to re-engage his bar mates, Arnald calls Sly over and starts to pet the bird. Pulling some snacks from his pocket he tosses a piece up in the air and Sly launches himself into the air and catches it. Within a few moments Arnald had Sly doing aerial tricks as he continued to toss snacks into the air.
"Maybe this will distract some folks and thus help our friends.", Arnald thought to Sly.
If distraction is needed, Ola night try another water trick - if whatever drink at the table of the old man can be affected (even wine is mostly water), she will knock the glass off in a direction, forcing the man to look away from his backpack.
While at the table, Ola and Zelra join him again. He gently says, "Bag" while motioning towards the man's pack. Then "pack" motioning towards the Elf's pack, "necklace" and points towards the human woman, "quill" towards the the half-elf and "pouch" and finally points towards the halfling.

ARNALD:

You notice the halflings watching intently as Sly performs the tricks, and hear a couple of slight cheers from other patrons, followed soon by a whistle from the kitchen, where Madame Freona herself has popped her head out. "Keep your bird on your shoulder, Arnald, or you're cleaning the bar tonight," she says sternly, but friendlly.
This gets a chuckle from one of the halflings, who speaks to you in Common. "That's a clever bird. Do you perform here?"

OOC: To summarize the current situation in case anyone is having trouble mapping it:
Arnald is speaking with the halfling trio. Ola spoke with the elf woman. Zelra spoke with the dragonborn woman. Sylyra spoke with the human man and dwarf woman, but is currently nowhere to be seen. Two older women dine at one table, and a half-elf man dines at another - neither have been spoken to.
Zelra frowns. "Wait. Not the dragonborn? Damn... I though I was onto something."She scans the room, looking at each of the people Uragum pointed out and tapping her fingers on the table.
OOC: (We wouldn't know what Sylyra is up to, would we?)
OOC: I do not think so, though Ola acted as she did (DM wisely scrapped it :) )
"I don't know... If one would want to ... what is the word... smuggle? something very magical, would not that someone tried to make it so, that no one can detect magic?" Explanation was not very coherent but Ola hoped others understood. "Is it possible to hide magical aura? If it is so, then that dragonborn is still suspicious, more than others. And the colour speaks for itself." Prejudice or not but white dragons are among the evil.
