This long, ornate room is brightly lit with several oil lamps scattered around, and a line of candles down a long, packed table dominating the room. Colorful curtains hang on clean windows, providing additional sunlight. On the table are brilliantly polished silver plates, set for 6 people, with a giant feast waiting to be enjoyed. There is a giant roast pig as the centerpiece, and bowls of apples, grapes and pears. Giant pumpkins are also strewn around the table. Carafes of wine and pitchers of frosty ale are placed at every setting. It looks, and smells, delicious.

"...Unless the trap is for those who don't eat the food... We can't take anything for granted. The only thing more dangerous than believing every illusion is believing everything you see is an illusion. Or a top-half medusa bottom-half crocodile face. That would be lethal."
Uri takes a piton from his pack, cleans it on his shirt and starts poking at one of the pumpkins looking for evidence that it's not as sumptuous - or indeed as not-alive-and-hungry-for-flesh as it appears. Investigation : 13 (take 3 off that if Perception is more appropriate)
"It's not uncommon for a restless spirit to treat it's guest to a little hospitality. Relaxed souls taste better. *ahem* So I've heard."
Aluchard stands around the table and pokes one of the pumpkins with a finger. He closes his eyes, hoping to get a sense of anything otherworldy in the room and will use Divine Sense.

Uri's piton and Aluchard's finger both sink into the pumpkins. Shadows and dust swirl around you as the light seems to be sucked back into the lamps, revealing the illusion. The lamps are shattered, and the windows are boarded and filthy as well, letting in small rivers of light that reveal faded and moldy curtains. The fine table is covered in claw marks, the fruit and pumpkins are dried up and rotten, and the roast pig is a rancid, festering boar's head, staring at you with empty sockets, most of its flesh eaten away. Maggots swarm in its open mouth.

"What is with this house and festering animal heads?" Eden takes out her mace and pushes the boar head off the table in disgust before walking around the room and giving it a quick once over, looking for any entrances or hidden secrets.
It seems safe, and indeed it isn't trapped at all. It opens up into a sitting room, although there no longer is anywhere to sit. The furniture here is not only broken, it looks to have been torn apart in rage. Deep claw marks in the walls and floor verify that something inhuman made this mess, and large black stains on the floor, walls, and ceiling suggest the furniture was not the only target.

Both of you get a good look at the claw marks, and conclude that it's a pretty big creature that made those marks, and you have no idea what kind of creature made them.

Terrick first feels a slight grumble in his stomach at the sight of the pristine food but will not fall for the trick again. He side steps the table as the other start to poke around a bit and sure enough the illusion dissipates. That slight rumble immediately clenched up as the rot appeared. No longer interested, but really to escape the stench, he moves into the sitting room when Urth opens the door. Seeing the claw marks, he reaffirms the grip on his sword. "Is this from the thing that has been tearing people apart in the city? Regardless, this beast needs to be put down... hard."
Aluchard scans the room, staring at the walls and closes his eyes for a moment, almost like he thought he saw them move. He traces his finger over the blood to see if it warm or cool. "I wonder if this beast is close by."

"Look, maybe none of you have ever had to defend an exorcism to the town watch but I regret to inform you all the the observations of Mordenkainen and other prominent authors of a creature's... what's the word... 'inherent evilness'? has no legal standing in The 'Gate. We can't just bust in and murder the first clawed beast we find because he looked like a bad'un or we'll be filling out paperwork and swearing depositions till Trolltidesday. We need proof, evidence. What are we gonna do, throw the book at him 'cause he eats really old pigs and tears the shit out of his own furniture? Is that a crime? Hells, which of us hasn't broken a chair off a neighbours back or eaten raw bacon that was a week older than maybe is safe, or smashed a few plates against the wall because you just need to hear something, anything, 'cause the silence just gets so lonely. We should take samples of that blood - if it's not the creature's, which we can check after we stab it a couple of times, we can relate it to a victim and then BAM! We have it dead to rights."
He takes out a vial and scrapes some of the blood into it then replaces it in the customised sectioned Map case he carries them in. Then he observes the room (investigation : 15) and casts a Minor Illusion in front of him of a miniature replica of the room, recasting as he adds in spectral numbered cards to indicate any points of interest so he can reproduce the scene in a Watch Inquiry if needed.

He tries to pry a board off the window to flood the room with light.

The head lands with a wet splat. No secrets to be found, just another door on the wall you came in on, and on the wall adjacent to it, to the south.

Based on how long these rooms are and how big the building was, is it bigger on the inside?
And is this a dead end?
