Upon realizing he's broken a window behind the bar (and possibly quite a few un-registered wizarding laws in Waterdeep), Geoff jumps down from the table and makes his way to the nearest dark alcove with haste, to switch "masks" before the commotion from the troll dies down too much.
Kvothe walks up to the stirges and plunges his rapier, with medical precision, into each tiny head. Afterward, he takes a moment to clean his blade before sheathing it.
The two make their way through the sleeping striges, finishing them off one by one. The thought, Child's play crosses your mind.
Karl
Yagra stands up, pops her shoulder back into place as she responds "Bunch of bloody punks from Xantahr's crew most likely. I'm gonna go get a gods damn drink after that."
Geoff
You move to the back of the room to slink away, but it is mostly futile as the lack of people in the bar makes everyone stand out.
The tavern is all but emptied out. The few who remain, a small halfling boy, a dwarf, two humans, a half-orc and a bartender. Durnan, stashes his sword back on the wall after wiping it down. He lines up a row of drinks for those brave enough to help him with the fight. "Six shots of firewater on the house."
He looks around at the mess and says "I'll be right back." You see him walk outside the bar and hear some shouting coming from the front. Shortly after a few bar-backs come running it to start cleaning up the mess the striges and troll left. He calmly walks back to the bar and says "Now where were we." He raises a glass and motions to everyone to join.
"Here’s to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking.
If you cheat, may you cheat death.
If you steal, may you steal a woman’s heart.
If you fight, may you fight for a friend.
And if you drink, may you drink with me!"
He knocks it back and slams his cup on the counter.
Wiki picks up a shot glass, which in his adorably small hands looks like a proportionally normal glass for anyone else, and takes a little sip of the firewater. He makes a face but keeps it down. It was a small sip, after all.
After looking around a bit more, Geoff doesn't think he will be in much trouble so he heads down to the bar, wanting to take part in the merriment. He slams a shot laid out, and goes to strike up a conversation with the patrons involved in the fight. "So what was all that about?"
Karl takes the shot with everyone else, speaks up and says "I don't know what that was about really. I just came here to get a drink wi' Yagra here when they came over here." He looks over at the short lad "Aye lad, whats yer name? Ye seemed like ye knew those men were about to cause trouble."
Wiki stands up on his barstool, puffs his chest out, and says, "My name is Wiki Jones, boy detective!" He puts his hand out to the dwarf, "Nice to meetcha Mister!"
Karl shakes Wiki's hand and says "Wow boy detective, never heard of that before! I'm Karl Gorunn a blacksmith working at Bloodbath & Beyond, nice to meet ya! How did ye kno' bout those fellas?"
"It was really quite simple! They showed obvious signs of aggression and are clearly marked as gang members. Sometimes in a busy place details can get lost, so I find it's important to always be watching out for these things! That's how I found out the head chef of a noble household was having an affair with the lady of the house." Wiki paused and took another small sip of the liquor.
A closet door swings open nearby. A dwarf pops out, adjusts his tunic, pulling it down slightly at the waist so it is fitting.
He saunters over to where you are taking shots. "Bloody good job there! I've never seen such a strong group before. If you can take care of a troll maybe you can help me with a personal problem. Let’s find a table to talk, shall we?”
While closet dwarf talks, Geoff looks around for Threestrings and Bonnie, to make sure they are ok. "Coin is nice, but if this dwarf wants us to take care of something worse than trolls, it better be worth it because I have another party to go to" he thinks to himself.
The figure who approached you strokes his mustache, adjusts his floppy hat, and tightens his scarf. “Volothamp Geddarm, chronicler, wizard, and celebrity, at your service. I trust you’ve noted the violence in our fair city these past tendays. I haven’t seen so much blood since my last visit to Baldur’s Gate! But now I fear I have misplaced a friend amid this odious malevolence."
“My friend’s name is Floon Blagmaar. He’s got more beauty than brains, and I worry he took a bad way home a couple nights ago and was kidnapped — or worse. If you agree to track him down with all due haste, I can offer you ten dragons apiece now, and I can give you each ten times that when you find Floon. May I prevail upon you in my hour of need?”
Geoff
You head towards the back of the bar where you last saw Threestrings and Bonnie. Behind a room labeled STAFF, you can hear murmuring. You can make out that two people are talking in the room, but unable to clearly understand any of the words.
Geoff obnoxiously bangs on the door and says "its all clear, you can come out now!" with a slight "I caught you smooching" laugh in his voice. He waits for them to come out.
Kvothe edges towards the table that Volothamp headed to, close enough to eavesdrop, he begins tunning his lute while humming to himself absent-mindedly, his well-tuned ears listen for details that may be of interest to him.
"Thats right you heard me. Ten dragons now and ten times that if ya bring me mate back. I'm a bit short at the moment, waiting on my royalties to kick in from my Guide to Monsters. I actually am in the process of closing a book deal on a new book called, Volo's Guide to Spirits and Specters. I'll even toss in one first edition for ya if you bring Floon back safe." He takes a sip of his drink. "I'll tell ya what I know".
"I was beset by writer’s block, so I met Floon Blagmaar for drinks at the Skewered Dragon. We drank and gambled for a few hours, and then I left. Haven't seen or heard from Floon since. Floon is handsome human male in his early thirties with wavy red-blond hair. He was dressed in his going out clothes that night. Looked pretty dashing if I do say so myself. "
Geoff
As you bang on the door the murmuring goes quiet. Shortly after Threestring comes out alone and no one can be seen inside. "Caught what?"
Upon realizing he's broken a window behind the bar (and possibly quite a few un-registered wizarding laws in Waterdeep), Geoff jumps down from the table and makes his way to the nearest dark alcove with haste, to switch "masks" before the commotion from the troll dies down too much.

Karl puts walks to Yagra and offers his hand to help her up. "Ye alrigh' there? Do ye kno' those fellas who foolishly challenged you?"

"What sort of things do you smith, Mr. Gorunn?"
