The shimmering patterns and hypnotic glow of the faerzress fills the minds of all who behold it with disturbing images - grotesque monsters with two heads, glowing blades piercing flesh and bone, skin yellow and blotched from poison, and so on. Kaylyn alone has the insight to recognise the images for what they are: flashes of the future!
Kaylyn: until the start of her next long rest, she has the benefits of the Lucky feat. You have 3 luck points. Whenever you make an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can spend one luck point to roll an additional d20. You can choose to spend one of your luck points after you roll the die, but before the outcome is determined. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. You can also spend one luck point when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20, and then choose whether the attack uses the attacker’s roll or yours.
The cavern extends for several hundred feet, and the most accustomed eyes are able to detect a side branch further down on the left, another a little further on the right, and a large pool of water beyond those. The indecipherable muttering echoes through the cavern.

Kaylyn feels relaxed like things are suddenly in her favor. Its a strange feeling, one that she hasn't ever felt before. Stay close Pensive. We have lost sight of the derro for the moment, but I think I prefer you close for now.
Pensive obediently stays on her shoulder as he keeps his sharp eyes looking around. He radiates a certain level of confidence though Kaylyn is unsure why.
She bends down to look carefully at the ground to see if she can discern if more than the derro had passed this way recently.
Fresh tracks (wet footprints from stepping in one of the smaller puddles) indicate the recent passage of Droki. Other signs of passing are also visible, indicating probably derro or duergar, but appear to be infrequent and older.
Moving down the tunnel toward the pool of water, it can be seen that the tunnel extends further beyond the stagnant pool. The tracks lead toward the left-side branch, but the muttering seems to be coming from the right-side branch.

"Echo. Or the tunnel goes round?" Without further questionings, Sekkar dived into the left side tunnel.

Yes, derro count as 'degenerate dwarves', so I'll pay the advantage.
Slipping into the cave as silently as death, Sekkar would have been completely unseen - if there was anyone there to see him. The cave is empty save for the far end where a patch of fungus surrounds a narrow tunnel barely two feet wide. There are fungi here that Sekkar (or even Stool) has never seen before: A four-inch-tall mushroom with a thin stem and a wide purple cap, and a one-inch-tall mushroom with a stubby blue cap with white dots. Some of each have been picked, but Sekkar finds remnants of the latter having been recently eaten.
Sekkar also notes that Droki's tracks lead to the patch of mushrooms, then actually become as small as a baby's footprints, before leading into the narrow tunnel. Some faint muttering can be heard echoing from the tunnel, but Sekkar can make out the words: "Droki is late! They will be so angry! Stupid, stupid, stupid! Delays, blocks, procrastination, obstructions, distractions, pfah! No time, no rhyme, not mine! No! Time!” The voice is different to the muttering heard coming from the passage opposite.

(LOL Now, which mushroom? Where are smoking caterpillars when you need one?)
Sekkar felt the same - that time is short and he had to continue, yet, he could not just leave everyone uninformed. He made a few steps back until someone could answer his thoughts (Stool was quit useful fellow!) "Derro was/is here - jumped into another tunnel but first he shrunk himself. Have a feeling shrinking is bound to the mashrooms here, going to check it out. Follow his steps or wait for me to return".
Feeling as if he is done all he could, he checked the mushrooms. He took purple mushroom in the left hand, and the blue one in the right. Carefully bit a small piece of the blue and swallowed.
Ok Pensive. See if you can crawl down there and see what is going on.
Kaylyn tells the pseudodragon.
Hoping off her shoulder Pensive looks up at Kaylyn who gives him a nod of assurance.
I'll be watching and if you are in any danger I'll make sure you are safe.
She let's him know.
Kaylyn's eyes then lose focus as she sees through his and senses what he senses and the tiny dragon crawls down the tunnel. She is ready to have Pensive vanish if needed.
Pensive, for his part, suddenly has lost the confidence he exuded earlier and is now a bit frightened. But he wants to help and so he carefully and slowly makes his way down the tunnel to see if he can get a view of what is happening.
Sekkar nibbles some of the blue mushroom. His tongue starts to tingle, then suddenly his whole body and everything he is wearing shrinks down to half their original size. It is still a squeeze, but the miniature lizardman is able to fit into the narrow tunnel and follow the shrunken derro tracks. Pensive on the other hand easily fits into the tunnel and flits along cautiously just behind Sekkar.
The tunnel extends for almost 200 feet, at one point crossing a small river. Although the water is flowing, Sekkar can tell that it is not suitable for drinking and probably comes from the Darklake. The small tunnel opens up back into the main tunnel beside another patch of the same unusual mushrooms, and beyond the pool of stagnant water seen earlier. More of the main passage, as well as several more side-tunnels, can be seen further ahead.

The deeper they go the more apprehensive Pensive gets feeling uncomfortable this far from Kaylyn. He begins to flash images to Sekkar of the others following or joining them. He also starts to share his feelings with him of being so far from the others if they got into trouble.
Between Dawnbringer's occasional remarks about gloomy surroundings, telepathic talks with the others true spore clods and now pictures sent by Pensive, Sekkar begun to worry if he still remembers how to talk. He projected in the best pictures his mind could create assurance, that he is not going to risk (too much) but what is the point of scout that is not scouting? And they were going to follow that derro anyway, so, both of them (sorry, three of them - Dawnbringer with his particularly sharp senses was in it too) do it - follow derro to his ...
