Brand takes the book about the itich that he purchased down to the courtyard where Mikkel finds him with a pot of cha and an earthenware mug. Having poured the tea, Mikkel asks whether you would like some breakfast.

"Thank you again, Mikkel. I must admit that I am a little surprised I slept in. What time is it?"

While Mikkel gets the breakfast, Brand will peruse the book, looking for anything that catches his interest.

Brand spends about an hour eating breakfast and reading the book.

As Brand discovered previously, the book has no table of contents and seems to be a treatise on the itich based around the writer's experiences as a member of the Northern Watch—a unit of the Engelian military responsible for keeping an eye on the tribes of itich on the northern border between Engle and Gont—during his time paying off the King's Patronage for his time at the School of Occult Studies. From the Introduction, Brand learns that the book was written about ten years ago by a Sorian man named Alfonzo de Galon. The quality of the writing is not great, but the book goes into some detail about the Northern Watch and Last Chance, where de Galon's patrol was based out of. There are also details about the itich that de Galon seems to have developed a respect for.

When he has finished, in the absence of other matters, Brand will finish dressing then, head into the city. If it's near Luch, then Minton, if he has more time, then to an outfitter who might be suited to providing a coat such as previously discussed. If he has even more time, then at amorer as well.]]

Brand goes upstairs to dress for going out on the town to find a tailor to make him a coat [[Can you provide me a link to where we discussed this please]]. Mikkel accompanies him and while helping Brand to get ready asks if his services will be required today. Brand gets the feeling that Mikkel no longer thinks that he, Brand, needs protection.

- Tailor, or army(?) outfitter, for Trench Coat (link to general discussion): basic idea is a coat with internal and external pockets, a knife sheath or two (like Rawl's), and oiled? soft leather? so that it can be waterproof using oil/wax (and worn over his armour).

- Armorer for a 'standard issue' studded leather set, and for a less obtrusive/obvious set (ie. two sets).

- Weaponsmith for a new dagger

- Purveyor of Stink of Life to replace used one

I assume he won't get all this done today!

[[No longer feared or confused, but I am now 60' from the fight. Don't know what the monsters are; they look like human babies with snake bodies from the waist down; basically Vincenzo was first through the door and failed his Sanity check (a very Call of Cthulhu module) and I'm not laughing.]]

[[Not a good night for saving throws. Although Vincenzo doesn't know it yet, he picked up a disease (failed Constitution roll) fighting a diseased shambling mound.

On the plus side, his being feared and running away stopped him from getting involved in the fight between party members caused by the mass confusion attack the creature used.]]
