After a late night at the Staggered Goat the group leaves the village of mollberry, heading towards Greenest. You are traveling back towards Baldur's Gate or maybe even Waterdeep, having heard rumors of some strange happenings around the area. From reports you have heard, some strange power has seeped through the land, warping creatures and men alike. Greenest is just another stop along your path, where you plan to rest for another night, in no real hurry to get to your true destination.
For the past several days, you have been traveling a road that winds lazily across the rolling grasslands of the Greenfields. Sundown is approaching when you top a rise and see the town of Greenest just a few short miles away. But instead of the pleasant, welcoming town you expected, you see columns of black smoke rising from burning buildings, running figures that are little more than dots at this distance, and a dark, winged shape wheeling low over the keep that rises above the center of the town. Greenest is being attacked by a dragon!
From your vantage point you cannot see much, but do see that a shallow stream seems to run along one side of the town, bushes and plantlife there looking to give some ability to use stealth in your approach.
Let me roll the portents that I had this morning real quick...31
Okay...not great, really prefer them to be either super high or super low instead of middle of the pack...but we will make it work.
The man with red hair and beard and a darkly tanned face swept back his hood, eyeing the town with coal black eyes.
"Flames leap for roof to sky, and the town did burn like to an ember.
Wings beat from sky to earth, and the tyrant found victims to dismember.
It is as the dreams that came to me last night...I thought they portended something further off, but it seems Greenest is to be the victim of the tyrant from my fiery dreamscape. Let us try to get a better view of this beast before we decide what action to take."
Taking a moment to center himself and look into the branching futures, Thueban heads down towards the bushes to get a better vantage of the town.
Art Illery will make sure his shield is well attached and draw his [Tooltip Not Found] from his quiver calling his canons, one a small tube on spider legs crawling out from under his mantle and down his arm to clamp onto his upper arm, the other looking more like a cube with similar legs crawling up to perch on the back of his neck releasing a cloud of small metallic spores which shelter the area (half cover for everyone within 10 feet of Art) and settle on everyone in the area a second skin (7 temp hp for everyone). "Do we charge in or sneak up? Or both, some of us could go each way?"
Mr.Black's rather non-descript clothing changes to a blended camouflage color that matches the terrain. "Hmmm, time to be hero's everyone, lets go save the day..." He rushes forward, his lithe form silent, quick as a dart, yet somehow almost seeming to vanish into the underbrush as he rushes forward. First turn: (Action: adjust armor of glamour, Bonus action: Stealth25, Movement 45 feet (Actual roll 27 due to Reliable Talent)). Second turn: (Action: Protection from Evil and Good. Bonus Action: Dash. Total movement 90 ft.). Third turn: Action: scan for more details Perception23 (actual roll 24 due to reliable talent), bonus action dash, move 90ft. For the next turn and beyond, dashing while hidden: 135 ft per turn.
Yassa was watching in awe the winged shape above the town: "Is this ... Is this a dragon?! Epic!" concluded she at last, spreading her own wings and taking to the air - she only wanted to get a better view, not to be taken for another dragon, and from that distance should have looked nothing more but a pink sparkle in the grey sky.
For the last ten minutes he was humming a heroic song, that - as old as it was - usually raised the spirit even in the most cynical adventurers ( Inspiring Leader - add 25 temp HP everyone).
"Come forth and aid us I call upon thee," Cobalt raises his staff before striking it to the ground casting Conjure Animals. calling upon 8 little guys (of CR 1/4 of DM"s choice), "Go and find survivors. Return to us and lead us to them. Should they be aggressive, run back, do not fight," Cobalt points his staff in the direction of the smoke before making his own ways towards all the smoke while taking his Googles of Night from his side and putting them on.

As Dain looks on from the hilltop he sighs and adjusts his battleaxe, the haft of which is shaped like an elongated skull with the single blade coming out from the skull's teeth, at his back. "Looks like we have trouble." He says as he watches his companions leap into action. His black hair is tied back in a pony, with gray streaks liberally through it, the same gray coloring his braided beard. The silvery half-plate shines in the waning daylight, the sun low on the horizon already. That light reflects off the belt he wears, runes in the giant's tongue along its length, and the entire length glittering with red fire when the sun hit sit. He pulls out a small lock-box, one that fits in the palm of his hand, casting [spell]arcane lock[spell] on it. This is something you have seen him do a thousand times, the air around him rippling as his arcane ward snaps into being around him.
"Well, it seems Mr. Black has decided to scout ahead. Would anyone like to follow him? I think I'm going to just head down the path and draw its attention." Art will start heading down the road at a steady pace, not rushing, infusing his goggles with darkvision.

(Can we see what color the dragon is?)
As you get closer to the town you can see it is a blue dragon, but it does not seem too interested in you, more interested in the keep.
Sounds like the majority of the group is just continuing towards the town, with a few scouting. Is that correct?

Seeing Mr. Black dart off into the underbrush, Thueban rejoins the rest of the group.
"I won't be able to keep up with him, and would likely spoil his attempts at stealth. Let us head into the village and see who needs help. I sense the community is not a total loss if we act quickly."

"The stars were aligned in the heaven's this morning...let me show you."
A constellation of 6 small flaming rocks flash into existence floating above Thueban's head. He paces to the east slowly as the stars orbit. Suddenly 2 of them streak off, striking the ground in the center of three of the kobolds. As this happens Thueban steps behind the building to the east.
2 meteors strike the shared point between H105 and G109, forcing a dexterity save from K5, K6, and K7. DC 19, on a failure they take 10 fire damage. On a success they take half that, 5.
Theuban moves to K137, where he is out of line of sight of the kobolds.
Have the Kobolds had an action in combat yet, or can Mr.Black assassinate them? "Assassinate: You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet, and any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit."
