”Once we are done searching here, let’s make sure we have investigated the rest of the basement and the house proper, that we might give a full accounting of the smuggler’s activities to Captain Fireborn and put the frightened townsperson’s mind at ease,” suggests Reg.

Having participated in a “sting” operation or two during his time in the guard, Reg suggests, “Captain Blackhand, perhaps you can set the candles to wave off the smugglers tonight, then we can come back once we have coordinated with the authorities the following night and lure them into a trap—with authorization and backup—should Captain Fireborn wish to peruse the matter further...”

Captain Blackhand: Absently kicking at a rock with a disappointed look on this face, Beric says, "Ye all always be ruinin' me fun! Very well, let's be on with it." Beric continues to follow the others as they make their way back upstairs.

OoC - I liked the candle idea, are we not doing that?
It is a good idea. The questions I have are : what time of day is it? - it was night time when we got here wasn't it? How long until daylight? Where is the 'signal' given from? Down here at sea level or from the house? If we give it from the wrong place they will be tipped off.
OOC: Reg is leaving that up to Beric...it is a chance to get a ship with perhaps some veneer of authorization and some backup if needed...if Fireborn agrees.

OOC: Have we explored the hidden basement/celler completely as well ( as far as we can tell, barring more hidden doors)? If so, we should go back up to the main level of the house.

Reg will go with Elias back to the main level, encouraging the others to join them. "Let's search the rest of the main level of the house to make sure we didn't miss anything," counsels Reg as he heads back.

Keric, suddenly aware of the time, yawns deeply, "Friends, I am tired, though I suppose we should check out the rest of the house." He follows the group back the caverns and into the unexplored portion of the house.
Yes it is very late. The meeting in the tavern was late evening and the house is several miles away from the town.
To travel back to the first level of the home you can go up the steps you came down in the large room where the beds were placed or there were steps in the cellar where the plate mail clad individual had been bludgeoned to death. Which direction do you wish to go.
Going back up the steps, you return to the room on the west side of the house with the old patio outside and the hallway that leads back to the entrance

Keric creases his brow, "I don't think we'll be stealing any ships tonight, Captain. A look upstairs and a report to town guard is in order though."
