Having no fire on me, I attempt to hit them once more with my boomerang
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
I mistakenly was halfing the boomerang damage, not realizing it was bludgeoning damage. With recalculating the damage, the first swarm was killed by Beric and the second went down from Shaul's second boomerang. All clear now, no other buggies or baddies visible now.
Keric will walk over the corpse, and knee down next to it speaking a benediction of safe passage for his soul that ends with, "We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion." He will then take a look at the body for any useful information. Investigation + [Guidance7 + 3

Looking over the body, you see the armor has multiple dents, which you guess likely occurred from bludgeoning by the bandits whom you just faced.
Keric nods to Reg, "This plate isn't in bad shape. You should take it."
Reginald of Neverwinter:
”That is...most kind of you, Keric,” says Reg, realizing this armor is far superior to what he is now wearing. “Are the rest of you okay with me claiming the armor?” he asks. He will carefully strip off the armor and see if he can quickly get it at least wearable (and if it would fit him reasonably well).
if yes to the first two, he will change into the plate armor and put his chain mail in his pack. If not, he will put the smaller pieces of plate armor in his pack and strap the larger pieces to the outside of the pack for later reconditioning. If the longsword and shield match the armor, he will claim them as well. If not, he will ask that others may want to carry them.

In just a few minutes, Reg is wearing plate armor and wielding the matching sword and shield. He seems to be bearing up well under the weight of it and the chain armor in his pack--at least for now. "Thank you all for letting me use this armor. I will do my best to defend you as we move through this lair of bandits," says Reg. "Speaking of that, where to next, Elias?" he asks as the ranger finishes investigating the room.

Reyllnn frowns as she studies Reg. "The armor is certainly serviceable, but it looks awful and smells even worse. Let me help you with that." She then casts Prestidigitation, quickly polishing all the dirt and gore off the armor. The smell of death and decay is soon replaced by the faint scent of perfume. "Much better, wouldn't you agree?"
Listening at the door, no movement is heard inside. Opening the door you see a small bedroom.
Unlike the barracks, this small room holds comfortable furnishings and appears to be well cared for.
A comfortable-looking bed in the northwest corner has a wooden locker at its foot.
A small wooden table stands against the east wall, with a padded leather chair beside it. On the table, a brass three-branch candlestick with three burning candles provides the room with bright light. The candles, though not fresh, are far from spent.
Under the table is a small wooden box and an unlit bullseye lantern with a movable shutter over the lens.
On a shelf above the table sit three books. In the northeast corner is a closed wooden wardrobe.

Reginald of Neverwinter:
Reg nods his thanks, saying, "Thank you, Reylinn, the armor is much cleaner now, and smells...and smells..." He falters a bit as instead of the tang of oil and steel he smells....flowers of some kind? Finishing somewhat lamely, he says "...nice."
If it has been 15 minutes, he will try to get over his fear...

While the others are investigating the room to the north, Reg is carefully inspecting the 'danger' door and trying to see what he can in the darkness beyond (60" darkvision).

Captain Blackhand: Retrieving his thrown Dagger from the heap of guts and gore, Beric says,"No need fer yer fancy magics." He wipes the blade with the man's tunic before returning it to the sheath on his belt.
Entering the bedroom behind the others, the Pirate does a quick sweep for traps. He'll disable any traps or pick any locks he finds.
Elias will check the books and say: Cap you may want to check the footlocker."

A little cleaning could easily make the plate mail, longsword, and shield serviceable.

The armor should fit reasonably well and the sword and shield match it as well.
