The city of Kora sits in the upper part of Faerun near to the Sword Coast Mountains. The city is in a roman type style and is well populated. As the morning sun hits the city gates two adventurers approach the city one from due south and the other coming in from the east. The city guard stop them at the entrance. Go ahead and describe both of your characters.
I’ll be playing the role of Flea, a forest gnome rogue trained in the arts of assassination and thievery. Growing up as an orphan on the streets of a big city taught him that the only person he can truly trust is himself. His small size and aptitude at stealing food and other items completely unnoticed caught the attention of a group of local hitmen, who took him and and taught him the offensive arts. The group was betrayed by one of their own, and cleared out by the town guard. The sole survivor, Flea fled in search of a new city in which to practice his trade, and just maybe get rich doing so. He does whatever it takes to survive, and one of his flaws is that he will turn tail and run if the odds are against him. Usually avoids people at all opportunity, but would rather make a friend than an enemy. Intelligent and proficient with light weapons, but very much lacking in the way of strength and charisma.

And I’ll be playing the Role of Stor Hornraven, a Chaotic Neutral manipulative, lying, stealing human rogue. Stor grew up in an area where there are lots of pirates and mercenaries. So he learned to fend for himself and he learned his skills from all the bad examples around. Stor however, is not your typical pirate. Whenever he got into trouble, he was not the fighting type but rather he talked his way out of things, making him quite successful at convincing and manipulating people. Life wasn’t going too bad for Stor until he settled on the mainland of Faerun and he discovered delicious booze. From nature, Stor is very talkative and direct and this has always been his strength yet pitfall. He just doesn’t know when to shut up. Alcohol gave him the little nudge in the wrong way; soon he was ending up in more and more situations where just his jibber jabber wouldn’t get him out. He learned some tricks of sneaking and observing as he got more and more into trouble but one day he got himself in trouble with people from the Flaming Fist - a mercenary company. With people from the flaming fist after him, he feared his life and - not being a particular brave person - he fled and ended up at the town of Kora. As long as your on Stor’s side, he cares for you, but the rest can go to hell.
Before the gnome was able to answer, Stor invited himself into the conversation and said “Good Sir Guard, what can you tell us about Kora? We have been travelling for long and were hoping to stay in Kora for a couple of days. We were told this is one of the most beautiful places around.”
"yes you are right Kora is one of the most stunning cities this side of the sword coast. If your looking for somewhere to stay then the millhouse would be your best bet I would hurry though as its going to get busy we do have the travelling circus coming into town latter today and it tends to bring in big crowds to Kora"
“Ok let’s chuff on in then and head towards the millhouse. Anywhere with beer is a good place to get a good idea of the lay of the land. It’s Flea, by the way. You are?”

So as you both enter the city even though its quite early there are a fair few people going about their daily business. It doesn't take long to find the millhouse.
As you get to the bar you see a human female tending the bar, she is sleak with blonde hair and you also spot a male tiefling busy running around meeting and grating people. The human says "hi there welcome to the millhouse. Two waters not a problem" and she puts two waters on the bar "that will be 2 copper each, are you gents looking at staying with us. Rooms are going quickly"
She pulls out a book from behind the bar "hmm let's see" she scrolls down the pages in the book "yes we have room 6 avaliable if you don't mind sharing. If you want separate rooms I can move a few around. If your looking for gossip I am all about gossip around here. Did you know the owner tiamet over there" she points to the male tiefling "often waters down the beer"
She mumbles on over a few other mediocre gossip items then lastly she says "oh and the leader of the theives guild has gone missing but I am sure you don't want to hear about that"
“Sharing is fine, thanks. Tiamet sounds like a shady character... I think we will get along just fine (I say with a wink). “Who could we talk to to find out more about the missing thieves guild leader? If people are going missing, I’m sure we can help. All completely legit, of course.”

One of the well equipped city guards says to the gnome "so what's your business in Kora"

Once inside, I head straight for the bar and say to the bartender; “ Two bee... uh, waters for these two fine gentleman.”

I hand her 4 copper and respond “Thanks! Yes, we’d be glad to take a room. Anything you can tell us about Kora that we should know?”
(Can I use persuasion on her to get her to reveal some juicy gossips to us?)
She pulls out a book from behind the bar "hmm let's see" she scrolls down the pages in the book "yes we have room 6 avaliable if you don't mind sharing.
