"That or it is actually dangerous and it can kill you. The best way to avoid that is to catch our friend that just ran away and interrogate him. Who is with me," Orgen asks putting his hand on the secret door.
Marlo makes his way cautiously to the shelves where the secret door lies. Not wanting to fall into the secret door and end up separated from the group, he keeps a little bit of distance, while he looks it over, trying to discern anything.
Investigation: 16
Marlo is easily able to determine that the door can be opened using a lever hidden under the shelf. He does not find any traps on the door.
"Orgen, Dezlo is not too sure. Could still be more nasties or interlopers behind these other doors, yes? Having dangers on both sides would be very bad - maybe we should clear these first and then we can chase our little friend. Let's at least make sure no one can follow. Better safe than sorry!"The barred door isn't so much of a concern, but the other worries the paladin. What's to stop someone or something from scuttling out and backstabbing them while they ventured onwards?
The second door Dezlo is looking at (the non-barred one) is unlocked...
Unlike the barracks, this small room holds comfortable furnishings and appears to be well cared for.
A comfortable-looking bed in the northwest corner has a wooden locker at its foot.
A small wooden table stands against the east wall, with a padded leather chair beside it. On the table, a brass three-branch candlestick with three burning candles provides the room with bright light. The candles, though not fresh, are far from spent.
Under the table is a small wooden box and an unlit bullseye lantern with a movable shutter over the lens.
On a shelf above the table sit three books. In the northeast corner is a closed wooden wardrobe.
“Maybe before we move on let’s see if there’s anything worth having in these here chests...” Grahl slides his pack off his shoulder and fishes out a set of lock picks and goes to work trying to open one of the foot lockers in the sleeping quarters.
Lupin is able to open the 2 lockers he tries, finding them filled with personal effects. They also each have a money pouch with 7 GP and 15 SP in it. So that is two money pouches...

Orgen sighs and relents putting his back against a wall while he waits for the others to be done with there search. When it was revealed that there were books in the other room, he picks them up to read the spine or the front for titles.
While the others searched the rooms for treasure, Alek kept a watchful eye on his surroundings. The last thing they needed was someone or something getting the jump on them.

The books consist of... •A volume of erotic poetry, fully illustrated •A naval almanac listing tide times for the area of coast around Saltmarsh (a total of one hundred miles of coastline is covered) •A treatise concerning the demigod Iuz and its minions

Stashing the almanac in his pack, Orgen tosses the poetry book at Grahl saying, "You may like this." Holding the treatise book in hand he opens it up to read the first few pages.

In skimming the first few pages you find out that Iuz is a mighty cambion and demigod who rules much of the distant north. Iuz’s realm does not produce enough food to feed all its citizens, so it relies on imports for the rest, and Saltmarsh is one of its major suppliers.
"Hmm, interesting," Orgen says stashing it away as well. "Well, we checked the other rooms. we probably should go after the person who ran away," he says going towards the hidden entrance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grahl briefly flips through the book of erotic poetry before stuffing it down in his pack to examine in more detail later. “Ah, thanks mate! I would also have a look-see at that naval almanac as well...I used to be a sailor...of sorts. I may look dumb, but The ***** queen herself blessed me with knowledge of the sea! But perhaps not now...I’m feeling we are a little to exposed to stop for research.”

It is a fairly indepth charting of the currents around the Salt Marsh area in particular.
Moving away from the secret door, Marlo moves into the office, and spots the bullseye lantern. "I say. Might come in handy. Will certainly put my mind a little more at ease to have this..." Taking it, he would go back out to the others. "Well my companions, is there anything more in this area for us to take care of?"

As Lupin and Grahl open the rest of the footlockers, they find more gold and silver, as well as personal supplies such as soap, clothes, etc.
All 10 foot lockers had a purse with 7 gp and 15 sp, so that equals up to 70 gp and 150 sp...
Does anyone take the bullseye lantern from the office?
If we are moving onward, then everyone can level up their characters to level 2.
