Swift looks around for possible anchor points the could use to secure the Topeka and thinks to herself... “yep, that'd be right. No steps conveniently exposed by the collapse.
while looking around for anchor points she tries to discern details of the collapsed area to see what risks might need to be dealt with or benefits that might have been exposed.

investigation for anchor points: 22
perception (passive): 8
Searching for anchor points, Swift notices the door - in particular it's handles. Potentially, this could serve as an anchor for the rope. Now that it has collapsed, the area surrounding the hole appears safe to approach. This trap was purpose designed, so the edges are sturdy. The walls are rough-hewn: between the rope and the uneven surface, those at the bottom should manage to climb easily, presuming you are not pressured by other factors.
(OOC: Your passive perception is 15... did you mean active perception?
OOC... I figured that active investigation for points to secure the rope would probably void active perception. If not... I’ll take active perception! That would make that roll 13. Is that enough to perceive traps or booty?
if so, do I see any traps or things worth investigating? Do I perceive the purpose of this purpose built trap...
OOC... just realised... my passive perception is higher than the roll for active perception.... so no benefit in active it seems. Or do I get passive of 15 automatically... no roll needed. And then active bonus is added... but that doesn’t seem right. Please explain...
Alas, I am also falling, how annoying. Is there any chance I am able to fling my rope around a column or such in an effort to save at least myself, and possibly any others who can grab me?
At the bottom of the pit, Naivara and Asmodean check their wounds, then stand, battered and bruised. They glance up at the sudden shriek and see Night Hawke slip from the ledge.

@ Night Hawke - let's see what you can do. Virran has lowered a rope already, which he and Swift are currently holding. Roll an Athletics (Strength) check: 10+ should do it.
Virran and Swift plant their feet and call out to the party below. One by one, the pair pull up Night Hawke, Naivara and Asmodean. Stig, it seems, is still clutching the wall. The team catches their breath before looking around for the second cleric.
Crammed into a fairly tight space (10 by 10 feet), you are flanked by the double doors to the west and the pit to the east. Having made the effort (and taken the damage for it as well), you might as well keep going... Or should you make a safer return trip over the pit?
Each party member gains 20 xp - adventuring, it seems, allows you to gain experience from all facets of exploring! Even pit falling. While battered, you do feel a wee bit wiser.
Naivara searches the pit. Are there any goodies down here? Any secret rooms off the pit? I will use my natural perception/investigation as I don’t roll well.
You search thoroughly as the others begin to scale the walls. Best you can tell, there is nothing to the pit. It was designed to catch people sneaking in, and did just that. It would also appear that this is the first time it has been successful - that or previous debris has been removed.
@Night Hawke - from your fall, you take 5 Bludgeoning damage.
Naivara waits for the others to climb, in case there is rock fall. Then she uses the dexterity she did not use before to carefully climb out of the pit.

OOC: My apologies for holding things up guys.
Dexterity: 20
Damage: 7
Stig reached out desperately for a hand hold to stop his plummeting into the unknown. Scrambling frantically he clutched at the pit edge with his fingers slipping in the layers of dust, causing him to fall. Landing awkwardly, he stood up thanking is divine guide that he was not injured more severely.
Hoping she is close enough to reach, Swift winds the rope around one hand to secure herself and stretches out to try to grab stig as his handhold slips...
dexterity 11
she hopes that virran's grasp on the rope will also prevent her slipping and falling into the trap.

Topeka should read rope to...she’s looking for something to secure the rope to...

Not sure if this will go any differently cos it’s same modifier..?
Ooh 1 extra. Glad I rested. Doomed, I think...
can I start rolling my own dice and taking photos? Don’t like these ones.
Virran embarrassed for not noticing a trap like this scrambles to assist people out of the pit
He unravels his rope and lowers it into the pit and tries the other end around one of the faux pillars and then braces it himself.
Maybe help me brace this LSA. I dont know how strong these pillars are
If needed strength roll 10

Swift to Virran - "I'll help you brace, but we could use the door handles as anchor points if necessary... "
(added bold and quotes to what was said)
Swift to Virran - "One of us may need to climb down to assist. it may be better I climb down if needed, as you are stronger than I."
