A blur of action occurs the moment the doors open.
Heedless to any dangers, Night Hawke dashes the 15 or so feet to the sarcophagus on the opposite side of the room where she proceeds to begin sliding off the stone lid.At the same time, Naivara moves as well. While a little more hesitantly, she follows Night Hawke; but unlike the druid, the High Elf studies the coffin closely for signs of... something. A bare moment after the two female explorers cross the portal into the room, Stig barks a warning and utters his spell.
@ Night Hawke - You slide the lid open far enough to peer and reach in. Deeming it safe enough, you rustle around the old bones until your hand comes across something small, cold and metallic. Fitting nicely into your palm, you bring out a signet ring. Platinum in make, it bears the crest of a 'T' over a spreading oak.
@ Naivara - You are slightly surprised to discover some ancient elvish script carved into the stone lid. This is particularly curious, as the Tresendar Family were of the human race. Much of the script is lost to your understanding, but one word catches you, as it is repeated with more frequency than the others - the word 'Illefarn'. You say the word aloud and look around the room to see if the word means anything to those around you. A similar script is carved into each of the sarcophagi; while the phrases may vary, the term 'Illefarn' remains constant between them.
@ Stig -
The spell emanates from your location, spreading across the entire room and a little beyond where the stone walls allow. A faint aura catches your attention as it surrounds the three skeletons. Studying each one further, you are certain that this magic pertains to the School of Enchantment rather than the School of Necromancy. If they await some token to 'quicken', such as person, command or action, it is clearly not the desecration of the first sarcophagi or the theft of the deceased's treasure. Nor, it would appear, is it the Elvish word Illefarn that Naivara just called out.
@ Swift - You notice, similar to Naivara, a script written on the lid of the coffins. Not versed in the language of the Elves, you recognise its form, but not its meaning or words.
@ Night Hawke - Try as you might, you do not recall much about this place. You vaguely remember the last Lord Tresendar being a great knight. His family before him might also have been such, and so these sarcophagi might have been imbued with the language of the elves as a sign of respect.
As Nighthawke can speak, and therefore I assume read elvish, she examines the scripts on each coffin to see if she can understand them. She doesn’t yet want to read anything aloud in case it wakes up anything nefarious. ooc: do I need to roll?

OOC: Go ahead and roll and investigation check. Since you come from the ranks of the common folk, it will be challenging to understand an ancient language you've had little to do with in your life experiences (adapted from your character sheet... had to check first :).
Naivara moves toward the sarcophagus on the opposite wall. She runs her hands over the tree symbol and the elvish script found on the lid. “Illefarn...” she repeats again, trying hard to relate the language of her home to that of the ancients. Surely there is a connection.
Swift sees Night Hawk rummage around in the ,coffin and withdraw some artefact.
She doesn't sense treasure stashd in this sarcophagus. She doesn't see signs of great treasure anywhere in the room. Swift felt that there would be some mighty treasure or a fearful adversary after the trap event. However, she senses the room is probably just a burial chamber for some notable people from the manor.
Perhaps they were not from the manor. The elvish script implies some connection to elves, so maybe these notables are eleven dead. Or... maybe they did some great deed to help the elves.
Not knowing the language engraved in the top of the sarcophagi Swift cannot tell what the link might b.
Feeling a bit disappointed, Swift moves on the next coffin. She heaves the lid to slide it back to reveal the contents of this coffin
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the energy emanating from the skeletons, Stig says to the group, "Be wary of our malnutritioned friends lounging about the place. They appear to be enchanted and may be awaiting a trigger of some kind to join our little party. Something tells me they wouldn't be much fun at parties".
He readies his hammer and approaches the skeleton directly to the west of the door they came in through. He looks to see if the bones are armed and tries to remove the weapon if they are.

@Naivara and Night Hawke - Together, you are able to piece together the general message from the script, although much is still lost to your understanding given the links to the ancient way of speaking.
Hi liesth i banes -o i orcs. An i protection in cuil theui gave, mín offer protection in their slumber; guardians na tir- nia their uireb post. Illefarn. Ped- mellon a ye shall n- unmolested. Illefarn. N- ú- ye foe a estel na i goodness -o i faer. Illefarn.

A small flicker of movement, or so you all think, comes from each of the skeletons. The movement, if it actually occurred, ceases immediately. You watch the skeletons for several moments, but nothing happens. If you hadn't all vouched for the movement, you would have thought it a trick of the mind.
@Naivara - You are sorely disappointed when nothing eventuates, despite your best intentions. The depiction of the tree and the script of the elves appear to have no bearing upon each other. The insignia on both the wall and signet ring in Night Hawke's possession suggest a special connection to the Tresendar Clan, but nothing more. There is nothing that links the two directly, but rather two separate symbols to represent the efforts of a great house no longer serving the land of Faerun.
@ Stig - Thinking on your history lesson of the area - dwarves being a main factor in the Wave Echo Cave history, you remember hints of the great Tresendar Family. They were mentioned in passing - being only human, after all - because of their stoic defence against the orc raiders. One particular battle, prior to the destruction of Wave Echo Cave, springs to mind when the Tresendar family came to rescue of a group travelling elves. Outnumbered, the addition of the Tresendar contingent was enough to sway the battle. Forever in their debt, the elves swore to honour the family in death, as the humans had done for the elves in life. While this was speculation only, there was talk of an enchanted inscription used to protect the family's remains, but this was never confirmed.
He readies his hammer and approaches the skeleton directly to the west of the door they came in through. He looks to see if the bones are armed and tries to remove the weapon if they are.
Stig makes it to the first skeleton and quick removes a shortsword and bow, tossing the weapons across the room and out into the corridor. Looking at the others, he sees they also carry similar armaments.
As he turns to move and disarm the next skeleton, Lady Swift moves to open the second sarcophagus. As Naivara, she is standing towards the northern end of the room when Stig - actively monitoring the skeletons with caution - calls out a warning. At once, each skeleton turns and faces Swift. The two closest, still holding their shortswords, draw their weapons. No sound radiates from the skeletons, except the faint rattle of bones, barely perceivable.

“I do not believe we need to choose this battle. I believe that this room, although enchanted, does not have anything to do with the current battle. Do we want to be robbers of the Tresendar graves? Do we want to destroy the magics they have placed around their resting places? My gut says that we could put things back and walk away from this one should we choose. Our quarrels do not lie here.”
Naivara moves to the door on the North Eastern side of the room. She listens carefully for sounds beyond this door. She has a strong feeling they are close to something. Perhaps the hostages she is expecting to meet. She hopes to hear their breath.
OOC: I expect surprise will affect that roll, though stig did warn us...
As mentioned in an earlier post, I had my bow out, so assuming I can act:.... Swift move to quickly follow Naivara, trying to dodge the skelingtons, should they be near enough to need dodging. Perhaps she (Naivara) is right. Perhaps this is not our battle.
Swift wishes she could push the lid back on the sarcophagus. It may forestall any action from the skelingtons. However, she doesn’t want to get any closer to the short swords they are carrying in case they decide to wield them. Instead she tries to move towards Naivara’s position near the door on the north eastern side.
