1. work out your supplies - Don't currently have any . I was living off the land until I arrived at Phandalin.
2. Are more supplies needed? Need to buy food to supplement what we can find in the environment, some cooking utensils might be useful - anyone else have them already? no point duplicationing) a new water bottle would be good. Also need more arrows
3. What is your total encumbrance - you, plus gear. Close enough is good enough, just let me know. Total encumbrance before purchasing supplies, including weapons and armour is apparently a mere 7lbs. Do you need more detail of encumbrances?

I sleep lightly". To all "And then we shall all meet to break our fast. Clever I'm not, but clever enough to suggest some stealth will benefit us in stalking our Red quarry. Virran would like to sneak and investigate the location he was told is the redbrands base of operations in the early morning. Trying to see any possible entrances any traps and what kind of defensive presence they have
You awaken refreshed and committed - today is the day to better the world for those around you, particularly Phandalin. You go about your normal morning routine before heading towards the common room. As you reach the door, you notice a note lying on the timber flooring. A quick investigation tells you that the brief message (scribbled in common) is from Naivara. It reads:
Dear Lady SwiftArrow,
I believe we should deal with the... robin problem... They have been wreaking havoc and must be stopped before more harm befalls the town.
Sadly, I must also investigate any lead I can find on Gundren Rockseeker - I feel we have failed him and that does not sit well with me. Brandywine has offer to escort me to Alderleaf Farm in the morning. We shall leave before dawn light touches hills and be back by breakfast to plan our next move. I truly hope you'll wait for us - perhaps we'll come with useful tidings. Find out what else Sildar can tell us, if you happen across him.
- N
Judging by the light peaking through the windows, they should be back shortly. Maybe Sildar will still be in the common room for breakfast before he heads to the Townmaster's Hall.
[OOC: I will create a group message thread where you can record various bits of information for future reference - also open to other ideas. As you come across things you want to remember (people, places, information), you can jot it down. There'll be lots, me thinks :)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Virran
You leave the Inn before dawn, also noting the departure of Brandywine and Naivara. While they disappear awkwardly down a green way opposite the inn, you immediately take left and move cautiously around the edge of the inn. Three small houses, and a couple of outhouses, stand between you and the Sleeping Giant, although your darkvision only allows you to see the final house. You creep around the buildings, trying to remain unnoticed. Thankfully, the pre-dawn lights prevents you from standing out although you wonder whether you'd have seemed less conspicuous simply walking down the road... probably not, given this road eventually leads to Tresendar Manor.
You arrive at the Sleeping Giant, a rundown tap house obvious in its dirt, danger and drink. The surly mutterings of a female dwarf alert you to her presence shortly before she tosses spoiled cleaning water out of the window above you. You peak inside as the dwarf trudges away. You can see no signs of traps or planned precautions. You get the strong feeling the Redbrands rely on their reputation to avoid unwanted visitors. The Sleeping Giant, unlike the Stonehill Inn, is single storey which limits the accommodation. If the Redbrands are here at this hour, they must be passed out behind the bar. Tables and chairs sprawl haphazardly around the room, with another door leading out back to the watering hole's 'facilities'. Otherwise, it is open as you'd expect of a tavern.
You investigate a little further down the road to the east, noting the footprints that come and go, but you are unable to ascertain who and how many they belong to. As you examine the road, a figure bursts out of the darkness to your south (running from behind a neighbouring house on the opposite side). The figure, wearing a dirty red cape, crashes into you.
You are prone.
12 acrobatics check for the figure.
He tumbles to the ground a few feet from you, an armload of food also falling to the ground.
Asmodean’s head jerks up at the mention of this name. “I would not want to be presumptuous, but I believe that a trip to the South Eastern edge of town is just the tonic to clear your heads.” He waves one hand dismissively at the mention of redbrands “if you are at all worried about those ruffian Redbrands, I would be happy to accompany you. They would not dare to impede a personage with such pedigree as yours truly. Just give me a moment to find the Inn keeper and get my cover charges.” Asmodean notices the incredulous looks from around the table and smirks at the whispers around the table “but he didn’t even play” and “he just stood there until someone kicked him off stage”. Over his shoulder Asmodean winks “I am the reason this place was so full tonight. I will meet you at the back entrance” and off he wonders to find his purse of gold.
Feeling well rested and suitably enlightened after his early morning religious ruminations and prayers, Stig exited his room just in time to see LSA disappear into the common room. Following, he joined her in search of breakfast.
"Good morning M'Lady" he said. "Interesting tidings last night. Looks like there are several conundrums needing attention. Seeing how Naivara and Blurb have set off for the Alderleaf farm, I was thinking perhaps we might investigate the surrounds of the manor. I agree with your summation of the poorly concealed tracks, however despite of the suggestion they are residing there, I doubt they were made by Redbrands. I get the impression they wouldn't be attempting to conceal their traffic at all. Sildar's request that we find his friend only adds more weight to this line of investigation. What do you think?
Always maybe just a bit slow off the mark, unless it's killing things, BrWBrB says, confused, "I was just asking Asmodean if he thought we should get some red coats. You know. For a disguise?"
[OOC: Great to see what a "team" we are ... DM to decide if Naivara and BrWBrB [pronounced Blurb by those with a lisp] arrive back while Fletchfromoz is still playing (sorry PRAYING, praying) with his gods ... or not]
[OOC: To the best of my knowledge, you are not at the inn nor able to clone yourself, Brandywine. I am unsure of how you are magically speaking to Stig... who also saw you and Naivara leave for Alderleaf Farm... hmmmm...
After several hours of exploration, chores and delirium, our party of six finally met briefly (oh so briefly) for the first time. At the Stonehill Inn. Here, Sildar Hallwinter explained the situation, offered some guidance, made a personal request of you before telling you to see him later. Another brief (is that what you do? Brief?) discussion saw the party begin to agree on something.,, finally... the Redbrands must be dealt with.
After a night's rest, here's where things stand:
Naivara and Brandywine left in the darkness before dawn, heading to Alderleaf Farm. Naivara hopes Qelline Alderleaf can offer guidance on how to find Gundren Rockseeker.
Virran watched them depart, then slipped out himself, headed toward the Sleeping Giant on a reconnaissance mission.
Stig watched SwiftArrow head to the common room and moved to join her. From their timeline, they are currently in the future...
Asmodean has been standing guard at the back door.
Always maybe just a bit slow off the mark, unless it's killing things, BrWBrB says, confused, "I was just asking Asmodean if he thought we should get some red coats. You know. For a disguise?"
OOC: Give it a bit of 'time' and we'll get this timeline thing sorted out. Maybe if we each make sure we refresh before we post in case we're skipping things without knowing. I just tried it and you can type your post then hit refresh and it will not lose what you've just typed. Just a thought.
You were surprised by the collision and were lying prone. Before we can try to use the other checks, roll an acrobatics check with disadvantage. At this stage, standing from a prone condition is the only move you can make.
Ok, the force of the collision sends you forward, cartwheeling several feet, but ultimately staying upright. The figure in red, vegetables now covering the ground, turns to face you, drawing his short sword. He continues backing away from you, moving east along the track. Choosing between the food or protection, he deems you the more pressing of the two.
15 Intimidation contest.
You size each other up. It is hard to tell who would come out on top, but for some reason Virran appears slightly more threatening. The figure uses the confusion to back away slowly, then turns and sprints. His action is a tactical retreat - he is now 40 feet and moving east, towards Tresendar Manor.
