The merchants shrug in response to Dawani’s questions. “We know no more than anyone else.” One of them replies. “The delegation was heading from Mirabar to Summit Hall, but they were waylaid on the road.”
After repeated questioning, Sparks manages to extricate the following story from the half-orc’s drunken muttering. Apparently the half-orc, who refers to herself as Zomith, was involved in a brawl with several guards who were accompanying the delegation. She couldn’t say for certain, but she estimates that this was about fifteen days ago. This tale is punctuated with violent denials of any involvement in the disappearance, regardless of whether anyone dares to insinuate it.
The barkeep hurriedly procures your drinks, assisted by the rotund, red-haired cellar keeper, Justran. Torvin’s two gold pieces cover the cost of all the drinks.
“Just a minute, my friend.” In the bartender's voice.
He then relates the below in the half-orc’s drunken muttering. Apparently the half-orc, who refers to herself as Zomith, was involved in a brawl with several guards who were accompanying the delegation. She couldn’t say for certain, but she estimates that this was about fifteen days ago. This tale is punctuated with violent denials of any involvement in the disappearance.
(OOC: does the rambling include where this happened?)
"So, what do you guys know about this missing delegation? Anything?" In Tangle's voice.
Tangle sighs heavily, looking pointedly at Sparks, then shakes his head and looks back to the group, "If anyone else knows any other details about the delegation, speak up. I was not given many details about who they are, or how many. Sparks, did the half-orc tell you where she brawled with them fifteen days ago? They could have come south along the south road to Yartar. From there they could have either taken a raft down the river and gotten off near Beliard, or continued west out of their way to Triboard to take the main trade road south to Westbridge then Beliard. They could have also gotten on the southern trail straight to Beliard and not gone through Yartar, but I think that trail is a bit of a rough go. If the half-orc can tell us where she had the fight, that'll help."
Tangle traces his finger along the map as he sketches out the possible routes. Pointing to the very top right indicating Mirabar is a ways off to the north east and not even on the map.
"Summit hall is right here, south of Beliard, about half ways to Womford." Tangle sits back, seemingly exhausted by so much talking, and scans the faces of the group waiting for someone to speak up.

(Zomith does not recall where she encountered the delegation, but considering it was fifteen days ago she most likely met them on The Stone Trail from Westbridge to Beliard.)
Tangle sits, chair backwards, big backpack on his back, looking around at the party. "Well then, unless Balmar has other input, between slamming back those two ales...oh...you have some foam on your upper lip there....there you go....alright, then we head to Beliard along the Larch Path through the Sumber hills. We're already fifteen days behind, so we have some catching up to do if we want any hope of picking up a trail. I'm not much of a people person. Maybe look around town. The valley is a small place and someone around here probably knows something about the delegation. It's also a great place to resupply. The Inn across the street is the best place to get a good nights rest for you city folk. Some of the shops may still be open. I'm going to resupply, then head out of town, I have a place to stay. On the north east side of town the Larch Path goes from there. Careful what you tell people. There have been some unsavory folk in the region lately. Let's agree to meet up on the path first thing tomorrow morning. If you need me in the meantime, just hang around outside the tavern and I'll find you."
Seemingly done after the very brief exchange, Tangle stands up, rolling up the map and tucking it into his belt pouch. Then, barely waiting for everyone to agree, he stands up, swinging his chair around into its proper position, and heads for the stairs, his backpack swinging side to side as he walks off.
DM info:
Tangle heads down Larch Path to the first good wooded area and sets a camp way back in the woods. She leaves Auntie in town, crouched and hiding amongst the roofs or overhangs somewhere in town where she can see the main street and the outside of the tavern. (Stealth : 23) Auntie keeps an eye on things, looking for any suspicious activity, and watching the group when they leave the tavern. If any go wandering around, she'll try to keep an eye on as many as possible but pick the halfling to watch over others. (Perception : 22) Tangle will entertain herself by watching through Auntie's eyes and talking to her mentally about the party members from her camp.
Dawani gathers a decent crowd outside of The Swinging Sword inn. As she plays she overhears a half-elf in a priest’s vestments and a motherly woman discussing the fate of the Mirabar delegation. The half-elf comments that he encountered the delegation in Beliard, and has not seen them since.
Torvin gathers that it has been an unseasonably warm and stormy spring from scattered conversation, and farmers have lost much of their crop to flooding.
Coldin heads for the Allfaiths Shrine, a large stone temple on the west side of town. It is not dedicated to any particular deity, but rather is used by followers of all faiths as a place of peace and safety. The wooden doors carved with the symbols of the gods are flung open wide, revealing a simple chapel with a stone altar. A man in clerical robes is praying at the altar when Coldin arrives. (Coldin, you can roll a Religion check to identify the priest’s deity)
Sparks will move out of the tavern as well. He watches his companions for a bit, then tries to see if he can find anything more out about the delegation on his own. as he moves around he keeps his eyes out for anything of value he can pocket.
Once Auntie watches the last of the group head in for the night (amused as the halfling takes her prize into the building), Auntie spends another 30 minutes watching the quiet town for trouble, before heading back to Tangle for the evening. The two sleep high in the trees in a hammock, hidden amongst the greenery, with Auntie keeping a keen eye out for much of the night and catching four hours of sleep for the last half of the night. Tangle and her are up by dawn. Tangle tosses bits of chewy smoked meat in the air as Auntie flaps about nimbly catching them. Eventually Auntie heads back to town, keeping hidden among the roof tops and gets eyes on the Inn to wait for the party to emerge. Tangle packs up their treetop camp, shrouding herself in her illusion before climbing down to the forest floor and making her way to the side of the road to wait for the group.

Balmar will grab two tankards of ale and follow Coldin up the stairs and sits by the door drinking waiting on the other to make their way to the room.
