After playing along with the sailors, Winni returns to his seat by the dwarves.
"So, you wish to work at the gold mine near the new settlement. We might be doing some business you and I. I intend on setting up a shop to buy/sell goods. I would be happy to help fund your mine once I have set up my own business."
"I can craft most things as needed." He informs the paladin with a shrug. "My areas of specalty are blacksmithing, leatherworking, boot-making, and herbal potions." He gives the little girl a nod of encouragement as she reaches towards Guardian. "He will not harm you." Michael informs the girl, smiling as she lays her hand on the construct's metal surface. Back to the paladin... "What do you see yourself doing in the new land?"
The White Wolf chuckles. "I think Wild Dog would suit you fine for now," he says to Matthew. "But one day you'll earn an even better name. Goliaths like to give names based on your accomplishments."
Tine just smiled as Areon told his story, her eyes clearly locked as she digested every word of his. It was clear why she was a bard - the passion in her eyes gave it all away. She just nodded when he finished "A pleasure and my name is Tine, pronounced Tina, but me mum wanted me to be a little different." she just smiled lightly poking his nose "I guess her wish came true huh." she took a sip of her drink before continuing "As for my story - my story is to collect and tell other stories, though it would be nice to make one of my own some day."
As Ashlin said it would be a pleasure to play with her, her grin just widened and she slid two of the silver the other newcomer had laid down towards her "AWESOME! I barely get to play with others and it can be so much more fun with more than one person." she looked around and hit her head lightly "Silly me I forgot to get your name. I'm Tine, Tine Dancer."she said holding out her hand.
Tarkkin remains watching the room, smiling lightly from all the warmth that the people around him are extruding, but keeping to himself. He knew it was rude, but he liked listening to people, hearing their stories. There were a lot of them. When sailors and passengers began heading to bed, Tarkkin would look around to make sure no one was looking at him. Once he was sure no one was, he'd quickly scurry up the wall of the room, and start scampering along the roof to the center of the room. From there, he simply hung by his feet and hands, listening from that spot. People rarely looked up, and this let him be much closer to people while feeling safe. It was nice, he was thankful for his weird body having some uses.
Ashlin smiled and took Tine's hand, bringing the other bard's knuckles briefly to her lips as if greeting a noblewoman. "Ashlin Kerit, 'Ash' to my friends." She replied.
Matthew grins up at the wolf clad man with a great deal of respect and some slight hero worship. He tests out the new nickname and proclaims that his dad promised to teach him all about hunting and manly man stuff when they arrived and how he’ll earn a grown up nick name in no time before giving out a mighty yawn for his tiny body.
His mother makes some last chit chat about religion and some light conversation about what to expect of the small town from what she heard from her husbands letters before excusing herself to corral up her kids for bed.
With Winnie, the dwarfs laugh politely at his proposed business partnership. The largest brother, Guldren Rockseeker, explains their brief merry-meant. “Son, we’ve got enough gold to buy most of deeds to the towns mines right from the mayor, in fact that’s just what we’ve planned to do as we’ve been exchanging correspondence for the better part of a year now. Well probably set up some form of loan business for all the start-ups you spunky adventuring types will want to pursue, so if you ever need some help, look for a sign with the RockSeeker name!”
Dainar finishes his one cup of ale and stands nodding at Michael and White Wolf, "I am to sleep gentlemen. I am sure we will see more of each other this voyage." He heads to bed.
Tine just giggles a little blushing "Oh why thank you Ash. Could you teach me some of your stories sometime that I may not know? It seems like the room is pretty empty now so we have plenty of time to just talk."
When the other half-elf begins to talk she just smiles "So what's your name and what brings you here?" it didn't seem to register with that other people at the table maybe getting tired.
Ashlin had a wonderful time chatting with Tine and swapping tunes and tales until it was time to find her bed. She slept with a small smile on her face.
"seems like everyone is settling in." Michael says after a bit of enjoying the mostly empty room. The hub-bub of the group had been fun for a while, but his solitary nature enjoyed the less populated hold as the night deepened outside. When the two musicians moved to turn in he decided he should do so as well. Nodding to anyone still in the hold, he puts a hand on his waist-high cat construct and the two pad out of the hold together.
"I may take you up on that offer. Well, I am off to bed gentlemen. Good night."
Winni walks off to his sleeping quarters excited for the potential contacts he has made. Once in private he takes out his caligrapher's supplies he begins writing a letter to the dwarves thanking them for their conversation and expressing his hope to work together in the future.
Tarkkin went into a corner of the ship, to sleep. Taking a blanket, he curled up into a ball of cloth as he sat with his back to the wall, looking like a ball of cloth by the end of it. as he fell to sleep, he dreamt of making friends with everyone on the ship.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Okay, montage time! So this is about a two week voyage give or take, and you guys are stranded in a tiny boat with nothing to distract you. We will be doing something I like to use for my real life sessions called 'Rolling Down-Time'.
The way it works is pretty simple. You guys will be granted, let's say 4 free time opportunities for this voyage. To spend 1 slot of your free time, you will describe an action or activity your character pursues and roll 1D100. For any relevant bonuses (Let's say you are trying to invent a new gadget with your Arcana skill or something) you take your regular proficiency in something and multiply it by 2 and add that number to what your rolled.
So there is a multitude of activities available for you to do. 1. Some of the basics include gaining proficiency in a skill you do not currently have proficiency in. 2. Trying to gain a double proficiency or expertise in something. 3. Trying to earn some coin through ship-work/cleaning/entertaining/thievery. 4. Crafting something or trying to improve equipment you own. 5. Socializing with certain NPC's which may give you benefits later down in the line. You can ask me through private chat if you would like to pursue any options outside of these listed. For option 1- You will need a combined total of 200 to succeed. For option 2- You will need a combined total of 400. Options 3, 4, and 5 will be case by case basis to be determined by me. You can choose to spend all 4 time slots doing the same activity; do different ones each time. It's your time for you to choose what to do with!
If you like to add some fluffy text to your posts, consider 1-25 rolls to be bad progress in something, you messed up in something and basically wasted your time for little payoff. 26-50's is meddling progress, you defiantly aren't wasting your time but you feel like you could be doing better. 51-75's are good progress, you feel like you did the thing good and made progress, and 76-100+'s are like you made a huge breakthrough in whatever you did.
Please for the sake of Boy Scout's Honor describe the activity your attempting and the roll result in the same post, look at what you rolled, and edit your thread after the fact to describe how decently you did. Don't like roll 4 numbers at the same time, and divide up your activities like flirting for your best rolls, and whatever else for the bad rolls. Life's about taking risk's and all that!
I will be doing a little simulation for Gregor to show you kind of the format I would like:
Gregor is a sailor by profession and that take's up a very large chunk of all his day's on sea. Although he is hired through contract and already has his pay for this specific job, he want's to try to put in a good effort so that he is considered for future jobs. Since he spends almost all his day time doing this, he has little time for other activities. Athletics Check (For Heavy Lifting of Crates and Ship Equipment and the such) : 40
Second Athletics Check (Again since this is most of what his day's consist of): 54
(Post Roll Edit) At first Gregor was going through the motions; he was rather unremarkable as a sailor, for one of half-orcish descent it would be considered somewhat disappointing for his fellow crew mates that he wasn't hurling crates and other heavy equipment around like a super hero they were half expecting. After about a week however, he seemed to catch his sailing feet; and suddenly he was the perfect role model for hired muscle for a ship. He was hauling around boxes as big as he was with one arm, handling ship equipment with expert hands; and doing it all with a smile on his face.
When Gregor is not working, he likes to party. He's a highly social person by nature, and likes to play the crowd on most nights. His first performance roll will be to make general friendships with every NPC on board; which will affect his reputation a little bit for everyone. His second performance check will be specific efforts to befriend his female orc companion. Because this is a specific roll; his reputation with her will be greatly affected by the outcome of this roll.
General Performance Roll: 21 Specific Female Orc Performance Roll: 53
(Post Roll Edits) Although he was the heart of the party, he couldn't capture the heart of his attention. Apparently Mrs. Female Orc wasn't looking for a frat boy at sea; as although his fellow sailors and some of the guests of the ship loved his chad like attitude when relaxing at night, she seemed to want nothing to do with him.
After playing along with the sailors, Winni returns to his seat by the dwarves.

Ashlin smiled at Tine's idea of forming a band. "I don't know that two is enough people but I'd gladly play with you." She replied.
Tine just smiled as Areon told his story, her eyes clearly locked as she digested every word of his. It was clear why she was a bard - the passion in her eyes gave it all away.
