The woman looks to you, tipping her hat up as you come over. "So, you're finally coming over? Good." She speaks with an accent that is light and southern. She brings her feet off the table and puts her hand on the table and rests her head in it. "Just so it happens to be, it's you boys. And as it happens, I do." She waves over the others in the group. "Nice to meet you Zachary. I'm Rena." She offers a hand.It ain't, but I'll take what I can get without payin'!" She takes out the straw, sets it aside you and then gulps down the drink in about 3 seconds. "Sure do, Nict to meet ya in person Urreek! Or do you prefer Mockingbird? I'll call ya what you want, don't matter to me. And sure thing." She gestures to the opposite side of the seat. "The bucket o' bolts can sit with me when he comes over. Once you're all comfy, lemme know. I'll start telling you all you want to know, then I'll take for a tad, then you can ask more questions." She leans back and kicks her feet up. "Shoot, I'm ready to answer any question yall have."
[ Just to clarify, Urreek offered to Rena the tankard without the straw - he is the one using the straw, because of his beak… ]
Now that he can get a closer look, Urreek sneaks a quick peek at her weapons and gear. Then he grins. "Most people don't even try to pronounce my name, but I hear it rolls off your tongue... Delightful. I couldn't ask for better." After bowing his head slightly, Urreek walks around the table and casually takes a seat next to Io - on the opposite side from Rena. He lies back, taking sips from his straw, glancing at the woman with moderate curiosity as he waits for her to start answering Builder and Io's enquiries.
She points a finger gun at you. "Hia, Builder! C'mon, sit down." She pats the seat next to her. "That's a good question, as well. One that I can answer. You see, I've had a little birdie telling me your... Exploits. And, as it happens, I've been doin' the same thing as you. You've all been researchin', to some degrees, the ancient people known as the 'Wayfolk'. I've been doin' the same. I've come to give you a... sales pitch of sorts. But before that, Ask me any question you'd like. I've got answers." During her long period of talk she uses many hand gestures, at the end she lays her arms flat on the table, looking at you with curious but knowing eyes.
At the mention of the Wayfolk, something gleams in the back of Urreek's jet eyes, and he leans forward slightly.
"So we all have been... Gathering information?" He glances at the others, with a hint of suspicion. "How convenient that we would all meet here tonight." He ponders his words for a couple of seconds, before speaking up again. "I've been finding small traces of these old people, here and there, in the hills and crevices all around the city. Trinkets of trifling importance... But there is talk of much more, artifacts of miraculous power. Idle rumors and fairytales, I think; but if you had found some evidence, now that would be... Something."
She puts up a finger. "One, I bet I could down more than you, Two *holds up another finger*, I'm kind of a mood tenser, I'm really only around here after, well, shooting someone. or before. people get anxious about the latter."
[Since you're a vet, I'll just say you know] You know from seeing so many powerful people that she'd easily rank around a brigadier general, and that's starting off in the army, she might rank even higher after that.
Destrian runs off to grab another drink.
Looking her over, it’s clear to Io that this woman has a martial background, or at least knows her way around a weapon. For better or worse, this fact puts the dwarf more at ease. “Bah!” he scoffs incredulously at the woman’s brash claim. “An that’s a bet I sure to be takin’ a bit later! As long as..uh...” Io looks a bit nervously at the tables, flashbacks of splinters flying. “...as soon as we’re done our official business that is.”
Io turns pensive for a moment, a rare occurrence. “Wayfolk? Somethin’ ‘bout that throws a tickle up me spine. I be havin’ some strange dreams lately...”. Io decides against saying anything more until he knows more about these so-called Wayfolk.
"I do have a question, you seem to know a lot about us, how do you know us and what have you learned about our discoveries so far? Most folk that know about the way folk, juko at the chance to hear a new tale. You seem to have all the answers already" Zachary eyes the striking woman with a hint of suspicion, one eyebrows raised.

"Like I said, a little bird told me, what they told me was..." Points to you "You talked to a fishman 'bout a city filled with great riches." Points to Urreek "You heard some tales about robots." Points to Builder. "You, a floating ship." Points to Io. "Healin' pebble." She rests her hand behind her head. "I know what I know because I've been to some ruins myself, and well, It'd be hard not to believe it once ya see it."
"Ye got me interest, lass," Io says evenly. "An what is it that ye want to say to us? What say let's get down tha bone, eh? I'm one fer hearin' it."
Io looks around at the gathered group and continues to watch Rena.
"Alright boys, I got somethin' for you to do. I found a ruins that shoulda enclosed a map. should being the key word there. When I went I scowered every inch of that damned place and turned up little to nothing. I need yall to go look for it and bring that map back to me, 'cause I can translate and can probably lead to bigger Wayfolk ruins." she smirks "Who's in? any of the loot you find there is yours, if and when yall go to more, I'll simply ask to see the objects ya got and let me have my choice of one item from each loot pile. I got plenty o' gold already."
"So it's a job you've got for us? What's stopping you doing this yourself. You seem resourceful? And what is it you want us for exactly?"
"What's stopping me from going back is that I got more important things to do. Because I see potential in yall as well." she takes her feet down and places her fist in the middle of the table "Who's in?"
Io sighs deeply. "Aye, an I be goin' as well but I also be havin' some questions lassie." The dwarf leans in close. "I like to know who exactly I be dealin' with. An what's more important to ye than these folk? What's yer interest in these people? What do ye hope to find?"
With the last question, Io's mind flickers back to that fateful night in his mother's workshop, the body, the glowing stone, and drifting off to forgetfulness. "Even though I only met these men," Io glances at the rest of the group, "I'll not be throwin' their lives to the wind without knowin' what's what!"
"Now, your story is very interesting, and... Tempting. But I asked you for evidence, and I've seen none so far." Urreek smiles placid as he sips the last of his ale. "From what you've said until now, this sounds like a potentially dangerous job, with very little payoff." He leans forward, joining his hands on the table, staring straight into Rena's eyes. "You speak of ruins, and of loot, but then you say you turned up little to nothing. It would be nice if you could at least show us some of the relics you found."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Aye, you say you've been to many of these ruins, but all we've seen and heard are more tales and rumours, why should we believe you over any other, some of us have been chasing these rumours for years, and haven't turned up any solid proof. Looking at her again after these new revelations, unsure whether to trust her, as this all seems to good to be true, trying to discern what her true intensions are.

"Alright, I know your suspicious, I'll wipe that all away right now." She opens up her pack and pulls out what looks to be a flattened brick with interesting designs "THIS is a Wayfolk relic." She pulls out a small crystal in what appears to be a sundial watch "This too. Believe me yet? And about your questions on danger and why I'm not goin' back myself is because I have another more dangerous ruin to go to." [Her intentions seem just to be what she has said, she's a very forward person]
Zachary's eye's go wide, he stares at the Brick the runes, and his legs almost fail him, He has been searching years for some sign that the tale he had been told were true, all the snippets of information, the late nights, the deals brokered, the emotions crash into him in one hit before he shakes his head and blurts out, "M'lady it would be my pleasure to go on this mission, tell us where to start and we will find the treasure you seek! And hopefully some answers to our own questions about these Wayfolk, what about the rest of you? are you up for an adventure?"
Io's brow raises at the sight of the brick. "May I see that lass? Ye know us dwarves a suckers for rocks!"
(If Rena allows Io to inspect the brick, I'd like to see if he can gain any information from the stone itself through the racial trait of stonecunning)
Either way, Io nods to Builder and Zachary and says, "Well, methinks I seen enough. I be comin' with ya's! We be sure'en to get some ale and food a'fore we leave though. An I ain't forgot 'bout yer challenge, lassie, believe me we'll be settlin' that soon enough!"
Urreek stares at the two objects with interest, as he recognizes some of the runes inscribed on them. "Do these relics have any... peculiar powers?" He inquires for safe measure, not smiling anymore. But he, too, nods in approval at the others' words. "I'll follow you, if you wish me on this adventure. I have some renown as a ruin explorer; you might find me useful." Suddenly, he recovers his usual grin. "If you can keep up, that is", he laughs, shaking his wings slightly.

"Where are we headed then?" Builder asks. "Do you have a map, and, is this library you won't speak of yet at this location?"
"As for a map, that's what yall are looking for. The place itself is about 6 miles north a here. Start there. And for the library, I'll tell you once this is done."
Io's brow raises at the sight of the brick. "May I see that lass? Ye know us dwarves a suckers for rocks!"

"Don't know 'bout the tablet but this does." she holds up the watch "It can stop time for a split second, makes it pretty useful in combat." She smiles to all of you. "Sounds good! I'll be waiting here or at the Frost Crater Inn. See me when it's done."
"Let us be leaving this establishment and walking to the north then." Builder says as he gets to his feet. "I am fully equipped for traveling this day, do any of you others need to go and purchase provisions." All said in a monotone voice.
