((Graddik did say “during business hours.” and it is currently approaching midnight. You can go to the headquarters but you may not be well received.))
As Kes and Vin are preparing to leave and Mendax is cautioning them to wait, the door opens and Con walks in.
((After this we can jump ahead the three days to Graddik’s demise or we can head to the headquarters tonight or in the morning. I mean, we can do whatever we want! It’s Dungeons and Dragons!))
As Con walks into the office, Vin is visibly relieved. "I was worried about you," she berates him, reaching up to smack him on his shoulder. "I'm glad you're alright. Graddik is... taken care of. I assume things went well on your end? We saw neither hide nor hair of Lars. Anyway, the Doctor says it will be a few days until the 'medicine' kicks in. I think we should all get some rest; all of this is making me feel uneasy."
Con shrugs, scowls and looks away. You worry too much. Lars is rat-arsed in a tavern and... wait, did you say 'days'? He looks worried for a moment, and then grins. Good. Better, in fact. Hah! Let the little shit sing if he wants to.He heads off to bed without explaining.
Vin blinks rapidly as Con turns and walks away away, cocking her head to the side with her eyes wide in surprise.
"I worry too much?" She mutters to no one in particular, shaking her head. "I wonder why..."
Vin then sighs, runs a hand down her face, and wraps her arms in front of herself again. "Unless there's anything else you require, Doctor, I'll head to my chambers as well."
((We’ll skip forward to the next morning, but if there’s anything anyone would like to retroactively do please feel free to do so. That will be the status quo going forward as well, if I pass something you wanted to do or say please say or do it and I will make amends.))
The four of you pass the night plagued by strange dreams and wake with a sense there was a joke you were not in on. Despite your uneasy feelings the world is continuing as normal when you reconvene at Mendax’s rooms in the morning. Are we all heading to Graddik’s HQ or are some doing something else?
Mendax locks the door behind Con after he enters. He turns to face them all, thanking Lathander under his breath that the plan went accordingly without a hitch. "No, Vin, I think we're done for the night. But before we get going to our beds," says Mendax who then goes back into his main room and the creak of a cabinet door opening and the clinking of glasses can be heard and he comes back into his office holding four glasses and a bottle full of brown whiskey. He places a glass in front of each of them and pours a shot into each glass. He raises his glass to cheers them and says, "to success and to Lathander, may he watch over and bless us."
In the morning Mendax wakes up, makes his bed, and then does his morning prayer to Lathander. He goes into the main room, places some small logs into the stove, and starts a fire. He goes outside into the crisp fall air with a bucket in hand and goes to the Temple's water pump. After filling the bucket he goes back to the main room and pours some into his metal tea kettle and the rest into a pan. As he boils the water he washes his face from the pan water and then lets the tea sit in the kettle for ten minutes before pouring himself a cup and settling down. During this morning ritual, he ponders about the weird dreams he had and also about what happened last night. He wonders how Graddik is doing and thinks about the poison as it courses through and contaminates Graddik's bloodstream.
Con mutters something about success and Lathander, but definitely accepts and downs the drink. He looks up at the ceiling, almost in spite of himself, wondering if Lathander is really watching over them, but then decides that it doesn't matter. He's not much in the mood for talking or celebrating, so he heads to bed pretty quickly.
The following morning, he's in a better mood as they gather for breakfast. Man, I had some weird dreams last night. So, what's the plan today?
Vin will take her glass from Mendax and raise it as well. "To a successful night, and to Lathander," she repeats, taking a drink of the Whiskey. "Sleep well, my friends. I will see you all in the morning."
With that, Vin will retire to her chambers.
((I think that's the plan; to go check on Rachael, unless anyone has anything else.))
So, if everyone is in agreeance, we head to Graddik’s HQ. You arrive to a stone building with a wooden sign reading “Graddik Goor Imports and Exports” The guard at the door seems unimpressed at your approach. Graddik said to expect you lot, you can head in, he’s in his office. You walk into a large warehouse with a high ceiling and crates and barrels stacked in semi-organized groups, the workers there are mostly human, but there are a few dwarves, half-Orcs, and half-Elves among them. A walkway runs along the wall about 12 feet above the floor where guards armed with heavy crossbows patrol. The back of the warehouse holds several offices and other rooms, the second level, accessible by the stairs to the walkway, seems to be entirely devoted to Graddik’s personal offices.
The door to Graddik’s office opens and Graddik himself walks out. Well, well! If it isn’t Mendwell Sawbones and his friends! Please, come on up! Without waiting for a reply he turns and heads back into his office.
Con, uncomfortable being so outnumbered and outgunned, keeps his head down and his mouth shut. He sticks to the back of the group, casting wary eyes at the men around him, conscious of which ones were in the gang that beat him almost to death.
You take the stairs up to Graddik’s office and enter into a large well appointed room full of luxurious items. Graddik sits in a large plush chair behind an almost comically large desk. Bookshelves line the back wall accented with stuffed and mounted heads of different exotic creatures, the chief of which is the head of an Ankheg mounted behind Graddik’s chair. Lors leans against Graddik’s desk on the left side, a smug smile on his face and as you walk in Graddik gestures towards a few chairs placed in front of his desk. Have a seat, have a seat. What can I do for you? Ah! Excuse my lack of hospitality. He calls it to one of the rooms adjoining his office Girl, bring my guests some wine! He turns and smiles at you again as Racheal walks in carrying a tray with a bottle of wine and 4 glasses. She gives a small brave smile to Kes and says sorry I got you involved in this, Kes, I didn’t.. Graddik cuts her off Pour the wine and keep quiet, girl. He looks back at the 4 of you and smiles Sorry, it’s hard to find good help these days. Now, where were we?
Con enters the office, and takes a look at the collection of heads, impressed against his will. As Racheal walks in, he takes a drink without acknowledging that she is anything other than a servant girl not worth his attention. He will position himself somewhere where Kes can see him and gives him a cool look, willing the kid to keep his cool and not get them all killed. Otherwise he does his best not to attract attention, as he doubts he has anything useful to contribute to this.

((Oh, I didn't realize it was midnight. Yes, we can wait until morning to go.))
"Thanks Vin. You are right, let's not push it, let's wait until tomorrow morning. I didn't realize it was so late."
"Con, where did you go?"
As Con walks into the office, Vin is visibly relieved. "I was worried about you," she berates him, reaching up to smack him on his shoulder. "I'm glad you're alright. Graddik is... taken care of. Kestrell also raises the whiskey glass, toasts and drinks it. "I'll stay here tonight, it's too late to walk back to the academy."
In the morning, Kestrell uses Mendax's water and brews some coffee. "You know, I had strange dreams to. Do you think it means anything?"
"Let's go check on Rachael."
Kestrell prepares his backpack and gets ready to head out.

"Come on, Kestrell," Vin says. "We're not going to find her by yelling at his door."
Vin will lead the way upstairs to the office.
"Thanks Vin."
