Couple things: I listened to the first episode of The Adventure Zone, it's great stuff. I think I'm going to do the first episode of Sneak Attack next and focus more attention to whichever I find more enjoyable (though will probably keep up slowly with the other, as well.
Also, Chaiblazter, do you have proficiency in cartographer's tools? And do you have a set? :) I'd love a map of Kosmedes if you have access/ability, but understand if it's not doable. Or possibly even Ersa specifically, I'm sure that would be some sort of skill check within the campaign.
Hey guys, sorry I didn't post much yesterday, I have been working on Midterms. I have to get my tires rotated today so I should have time to hop on for a few.
Bmb, I have been working on making a map, but its hard lol. Aside from making it in Photoshop (which I could do but dont have time to do) I have been struggling to find an easy way to do it. When I figure it out I will happily post it. Also, id you guys have any ideas I would love to hear them, because I am drawing a blank (literally and figuratively)
No worries we all go at the pace we are able some days or weeks just going to be more problematic than others sometimes... your posts are always worth the wait...
As for the situation the group finds themselves in the way i see it its just and elaborate war game and as the orc chief said we are just pawns. Since they left everyone to our own devices in this camp with food and supplies they are just watching to ensure no one runs off. The other camp in the distance is just the orcs getting their younglings prepared. Once ready just their young will attack I think, as part of their war training or ritual to become warriors. Like the arena fight was just to separate those who could fight from those who cannot (on both sides) afterward they didn't let us the winners leave but held us for the next round of all this, the war game. In my mind if we stay to fight even if we won who is to say there is not a next round and things will just keep on going and on, or our usefulness will just end and they (orc adults) will just slaughter us all. Thus in my mind as dangerous as it seems the best bet is to make a run for it rather than just stay and fight it out that what the orcs want. And like a vegas casino odds are the everything is in favor of the orcs and the house wins...
Let me start by saying sorry for not posting much this weekend! Like I said weekends are very busy for me, but you guys did such an awesome job roleplaying without me, you can all take a point of inspiration! Keeping PbP games alive is dependent on you guys being invested in the story and keeping it going. Speaking of, Oddlot: I love the amount of fore thought you have put into the story. I can't say whether you are right or wrong, but just the fact that you have put so much thought into it really makes me feel validated.
I will post tomorrow morning and get everything caught up. Things are going to get interesting.
Awww thanks chaiblazter, much appreciated but its your DMing giving me enough details to at least establish working theories and try out various things in working out an escape plan... everyone loves a good mystery but even more everyone loves to plan a heist or that big escape lol. I enjoy the theater of the mind and rp... in this the other players have been great so big thanks to them! I just have the advantage of being retired so I have more time on my hands than most.
Guido and I had the same idea to go for the orc on the ladder. Your post hadn't come in when I started typing (and then trying to figure out the saving throw). I'm going to leave it, because, well, we weren't speaking to each other. So, I'd say we both just acted out of reaction.
I find that to be such a cool image. Guido making the orc feel like hornets are swarming him, while Varis makes it feel like they are devouring him. Classic!
No complaints here works for me lol. Guido does not have the firepower the others with magic has so I have to be creative with what I've got, at best I was just hoping to delay him until someone got to him as like Varis seeing him as more of a threat. Even if unplanned it worked out well.
Hey guys, just a heads up: I am going on a camping trip, so my posts might be pretty spastic, if at all depending on the cell service. I'll try my best though! Perhaps if the posts are sparse you could work on back story or something? whatever you guys want!
Hey guys, I will try to get a post out to resolve this turn tomorrow. I just had to pop in and say that you have been dominant in this encounter. You have taken care of like 11 orcs without taking a single point of damage. Except for Pafaren, which Guido healed in full with one roll. You guys are crushing it. I'm having a blast with you all, and think you are going to like how this all plays out!
Hey guys, I am officially back on the regular grind, haha. My posts should be more regular and consistent now. You guys are still doing great with this encounter! Also, in the interest of making a public record of it, Varis' "badassery" is well known. haha!
So far so good, Guido will wait for the others to catch up and post. Looking forward to seeing the site launch in a bit so I can spend, spend, spend lol.
It seems like our activity has started to slow, which is natural, certainly my vacation played a part in that. I just want to check in and see how everyone is doing. I know this time of year can get pretty busy for many people, and if it's getting busier for you, I understand. If there ever comes a point where real life is making it hard to get in to post, and you're not sure that you'll be able to keep up, just let me know. There is no shame at all in taking a hiatus, brief, extended, or permanent. In fact I had to bow out of a game due to some issues that I was having. I don't want anyone to feel like they are stuck here. Also if there ever comes a point at which the game isn't quite as fun anymore, let me know what is going on and I can try to fix it. As a DM my job is to push a narrative, but more importantly, create a game that you (the players) really enjoy.
In more, game-related news. Sorry for what seems like a plot jerk around... Due to a conversation that Bad and I had about his unique character situation, I devised a series of dice mechanics to help me decide how to proceed. They strongly encouraged me to proceed as I did. There is going to be many more adventures to come!
Good to hear... I am all in at any speed and bace the others can maintain... I am running my own campaign and playing in a couple others to keep me busy but always find time to post here... just love playing Guido lol... so no plans to go anywhere or bow out... Let the dice fall where they may... as long as Guido gets his motivation, he is gtg...
Hey sorry. I work in a college bookstore/print shop and am in the thick of busyness currently and it's been a weirdly eventful week. Hah. I'm hoping to be able to take same time during lunch to focus back in--answer this question possibly better, respond to the Varis check in, and IC respond.
I understand that full well. I'm in graduate school and my schedule is insane. I work in the Archives of our library and am going to be teaching a class on the Vikings and Western Europe starting Tuesday the 29th on every Tuesday and Thursday. I'll be posting at night after next week goes by hahaha.

Np Bad... just I am a great fan of vikings... history, culture and mythology... the Vikings series that I have been watching is one of the better shows I have seen on them though its more drama than history its still very engaging... hopefully you will get some more time freed up to savor Grim's building story.

No worries as far as I am concerned rl always trumps game play so breaks here in there in play is just one of those things... enjoy.
