Skarhys pulls out and unrolls a map for you to see.
((Posted on pm earlier))
Skarhys draws a circle around an island with dead trees and points to it. “Hidden somewhere on this island, me think. Findin’ it took too long. Never thought I would.” You can see one of his beady eyes start shining, as if he’s tearing up.
Your patron speaks to you telepathically.
“I’d personally enjoy a good flayed and roasted bird. However, you, my squishy mortal, may find some use in keeping him alive. You saw how he manipulated that green idiot,” the voice says, referring to the goblin with disdain.
"Are you recruiting others to join in on this?" Lia asks as she takes in the map. She frowns as she thinks back to her patron...
"Yes, but there may be more rewards in this than the bird is telling us. Maybe a few other things on this island that would be worth something. Killing him now would be not very long-sighted..."
Skarhys nods. “Can’t do it alone. Will need strong allies.” His eyes drift over to the woman at the bulletin board and the large abomination at the bar, the one that called himself Kronk. “Are you in?” He taps her arm, noticing her distractedness.
Lia, your patron does not respond. You get the feeling your patron does not care much about simple materialistic matters.
"I will aid you, but you must get others to help as well. I will not recruit for you in this." Lia says. "Our debt is paid in full by me going on this recovery trip for you. It is up to you to get those who will do so with me."
"And, if he does not find others, then I will not have to go either." She thinks to her patron.
Brodan do issues his second drink and leaves it on the bar, sliding off the stool to his feet. With little else to do he will make his way over to the bulletin board as well to see if any of the work interests him. It had been a while since he had the chance to use his magic in true combat.

Skarhys momentarily leaves you at the table to go talk to Bruthgar, the half-orc bartender. You can see the half-orc sort of nodding along, most likely because of the uniqueness of a kenku’s speech. Skarhys gives him something and returns to your table.
If you continue watching, you can see the bartender mixing a variety of alcoholic drinks. Some of them are unrecognizable and have no labels. He takes the large beer glass over to the bulletin board and gives it to a dwarf.
Brodan
While you were checking out the bounties, the bartender tapped you on your shoulder and held out a large beer glass, frothy and filled to the brim. He points to a kenku sitting with a white-haired half-elf. “Weird voice bird there want you drunk. Says come.”
Not one to turn down an ale, Brodan takes it with a nod. With a shrug he moves towards the strange birdman that had bought him the drink. "I thank ya for the drink, but I ain't foolish enough to think ue bought it out of the kindness of yer heart."

In a strange variety of voices, including Brodan’s, (strange for Brodan, at least) Skarhys says, “Sit. I saw ya checking the board. I got a job for ya if yer up fer it.”
Having served Brodan that large drink, Bruthgar returns to the bar. He approaches the ugly behemoth.
Kronk
The half-orc bartender approaches you, looking nervous. He gives you another cup of grog. “On the house. Bird over there has question for you.” He points towards the table with a kenku, white-haired half-elf, and dwarf.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good day." Lia says in greeting as another joins her at the table with the kenku. "Seems like my friend here is gathering some others..." She sits back, observing as the kenku clearly works to gather more for the recovery operation.
((The perception check was for earlier, when Skarhys left the table to talk to the bartender.))
Lia
While Skarhys was talking to Bruthgar, you saw him slip the half-orc a jeweled knife. It was probably just payment for the mega-drink that Brodan was served.
Brodan raises a brow as his voice comes from the beak of the bird, nodding as he takes a seat at the table. "Ye bought me a drink so I guess the least I can do is listen to yer job." The dwarf agrees as he sits down, sipping lightly at his drink incase he somehow has to pay for another expensive ale.
He nods to the half elf as he seems to gather that the kenku is trying to recruit.
Lia frowns at the subterfuge the kenku us up to. She had not seen this side of him previous to this and finds it both amusing and a bit worrisome. She does sit back and just observs though, wanting to make sure he isn't trying something with her as well.
Kronk looks at Bruthgar, "Gratitude being, brain-pan lovely you having." He steps to the birdman's table in a surprisingly agile manner for one of his dimensions. His thick lips curl up in what apparently is suppose to be a smile, revealing a maw full of heavy, blunt and yellowed teeth seemingly perfect for crushing bone. "Be Kronk wishing talking? He hears mummers of funley things afeet, need maybe gooder smasher, plenty mean?"

The kenku looks up to the giant talking to him and replies similarly, “Skarhys wishing talking Kronk. Funley thing much gold, need good smasher. Join?”
He looks back to Brodan. “A special diamond was stolen from me. I finally found it and need help getting it back. It’s somewhere on this island, with the dead trees.”
"Dead trees? That isn't very help if ye want people to find it for ye. Do ya have an idea of who it was that took it from ya?" Brodan asks as he looks to the ugly giant looming over him with caution.

Helena raises a brow as the bartender slams the ruffians head on table but simply shrugs as she takes her drink. "Well, it'd seem neither of us will be needed here. Thanks for the offer, though I can't say I'd have accepted." She takes her ale and walks towards the bulletin board, scanning the different jobs available as she sips her drink.
Helena replies back in Thieves Cant along the lines of:
None of your business.
Harq chuckles, suspicion confirmed that this half-elf is connected with his type of people, reaches back, cools, and takes the second shot before gesturing to the little bird that's been walking around. Assuming he approaches, Harq says to him "Looks like you're trying to form a crew eh?"
Ummm, Kronk is not a giant in the vertical sense, he is about as wide as he is tall, so about 2.25 tall x 2 meters across. He is big in the same way as a cannonball is big compared to a long stick, massive.
He looks at Brodan, slips the monstrous club from his shoulder, which thuds onto the floor causing nearby glasses and mugs to sway and clink, a few nearly falling to the floor, its huge iron studded head denting the floorboards.
"Trees dead make brain-pan smashing good stuff." He swings the club around again like it was toothpick, letting it crash into the floor again.
"Masher be tree dead, be dead good, smash, crash, goodies is shatters well."
Then he winks.
"Makes a heck of a mess, too." And he starts laughing, kind of like a wine tun filled with rocks rolling down a steep hill, only much louder.
Brodan nods as if he perfectly understood and agreed with what Kronk said, sipping at his drink. "I am a bit more fond of other means meself but if it gets that job done fer ya then I say more power to ye."
