Hello everyone! I'm looking for a group of 4-6 people to play Acquisitions Incorporated! I think that this book is really fun, and now that I have a bit of pbp experience under my belt I feel ready to run a campaign. We'll be playing on discord, and using Avrae.
Characters will be starting at level 1, and you can roll, use standard array or point buy. Any race and class from the any of the source books is allowed. UA and Homebrew should be swung by me for review before using it. Don't forget that the Acquisitions Incorporated book has a new race and backgrounds to pick from when building your character, so don't be afraid to pick one of those. Character sheets for the discord server will either be on dndbeyond or dicecloud, and I'm willing to help walk anyone through the use of dicecloud if they want to use something they do not have on dndbeyond.
Oh! Forgot to mention that I'll close this thread tomorrow at noon. Happy submitting
Name: Roger Peter Race: Changeling Class: Sorcerer (Wild Magic) 1 Background: Charlatan Teaser Backstory: [...] In his 13th year, the changeling commonly known as Roger Peter, who had until this time been a common street urchin and pan handler, ran afoul of the wicked sorceress Sihefstidter. In a rage, the witch attempted to transmogrify Roger Peter into a newt, but the spell went awry due to the incognito changeling's 'alternative' biology. He escaped with his life, but life was already complicated enough for a teenage boy without a face of his own. Now he had to worry about accidently exploding any workplace he could get into? If only there were a large corporation with no care for the safety or well-being of a handful of desperate interns. [...]
Michael is a protector and guide of wild places. he spends much of his time out in the forests and wilder lands of the area, returning to towns from time to time to keep up on current news. He uses his own iventions and gadgets to help with his work int he wild. Often he is hired to guide individuals to various places, old temples, ancient ruins, and forgotten dells.
Having need of some extra coin though, Michael found the advertisement for a new venture and decided to check it out. It was a bit out of his comfort zone, but he had been wanting to expand his own work with crafting items, and thought this might be a foot in the right door to get that accomplished.
Backstory: Inssol has been traveling for as long as he can remember. Well, he's been traveling by himself for a few months. He comes from a lineage of nomads who will travel the world, selling scrolls and potions alike to wanderers and townsfolk alike. Due to their size, figuratively and literally, they strayed from big cities for fear of being robbed. Inssol, though he understood, did not share this fear. Living in a world were just about everything and everyone towers over you has filled his eyes with a sense of wonder. So much so, that Inssol didn't even wait until he was of age to ask his parents to be an adventurer. They were skeptical at first, but with his growing skills as a swordsman, they saw it was plausible for him to live on his own. With the promise to send letters every month, Inssol set to find quests.
Ability scores: 81012987 Name: Farragut Race: Human- variant Class: Cleric - knowledge Background: Charlatan Backstory: Farragut has a knack, and obsession. He enjoys secrets, both finding them and keeping them. It’s what turned his god’s gaze to him. His god whose name is secret. Farragut worships by ferreting out more secrets. However, it turns out that living that way requires a less infamous role in the day to day. In keeping with this, he now applies to the Acquisitions Inc wanted ad.
Name: Silas Voltaire Race: Forest Gnome Class: Bard Background: Entertainer (True Neutral, out for himself) Backstory: The day Silas first walked out of his forest onto paved city streets, the evenings seem to be slightly darker. His dulcet voice and alluring instruments served as a reminder to never be out too late when he's in town. A master of deception and magic, he seeks only to please his audience until they've been lured into a deal they never wanted to make.
Someone once asked him, "What is the worth of a soul?"
After a moment of pause, he responded, "I couldn't say, but there's a great deal on happiness I can offer you, no money down." before pulling a strange vial of liquid from under his coat and handing it too him.
"The man took the vial with glee, no question about why it was free. Before the week was out, he was back on my route, and now his master is me." -Verse 22 of Silas Voltaire's "Prescription Addiction"
Name:Galwaran Race: Verdan Class: Sorcerer (Wild Mage) Background: Rival Intern Backstory: Garlwaran was "picked up" at a young age by a rival company (TBC with DM) that used him as part of their "voluntary workforce". However, in his first few years, Galwaran was seen to be a little frail and clumsy at the main labour tasks. He did, however, pick up penmanship early on, and ended up becoming a calligrapher for the company. However, during this time, some new rules and company shifts meant that there was no longer a position for Galwaran and his accidental antics (especially after nearly killing everyone in the room with an accidental fireball, including himself!) so he was kicked out. However, he had managed to write up a new job application, and has handed it into the nearest branch that might need someone who can write well. Hopefully they don't ask too much about the wild magic...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ability scores: 1514117810
Name: Romin Race: Firbolg Class: Barbarian Background: Outlander Backstory: Romin always had more of a temper than the average Firbolg, which was to say any. It got him in to trouble with the others constantly. Eventually it grew to much for some and they threw him out of the tribelands to wander his way through life. So Romin wandered, around the edges of the settlements, rarely interacting with the people in the towns, who called him "The Roaming One." Over the years they shortened this to Roaming, and eventually Romin. Now, as his old body begins to slow he has moved into the city, looking for something a little steadier than simply roaming around the countryside.
I forgot to mention this to people, but if youre rolling please make sure rerolling 1s is off. If you dont like the stats you rolled you can do point buy or standard array
Race: Half-Orc (Making one parent a halfling for fun but it'll only effect physical features)
Class: Paladin (Oath of the Crown)
Background: Plantiff
Backstory (A snippet that'll probably expand): Sanar was born a farm boy. His parents, the unlikely coupling of a half-orc and a halfling, own a farm just outside Waterdeep where they grow a variety of what that is used to make beer and ale for the various taverns in town. Being a farm boy Sanar isn't particularly smart or wise or dexterous but he is quite strong and easy to get along with as people just love him. One day while making a standard delivery to one of the many taverns his family provides ale for a building next to him exploded. Acquisitions Incorporated was just suppose to get money from an "associated" that owed them a great deal. When things got heated let's just say some spells got flung around and next thing that happened a building is collapsing and landing on Sanar. Luckily the half-orc made it out okay, but his two tusks were knocked out and let's just say some people weren't happy. In order to absolve some of what happened and prevent some law suits Acquisition Incorporated offered Sanar a job. He happily took it, always wanting to do more than just farm work, and it was there that they taught Sanar how to swing an axe and use a shield. Swearing some sort of oath to Acq Inc Sanar is now happy to hopefully be part of a team that is expanding the franchise.
Name: Ungrack the Mighty Race: Goliath Class: Barbarian Background: Soldier Backstory: Ungrack is a professional soldier and unfortunately the only survivor of a failed invasion attempt by a militarized Goliath tribe. Their physically imposing stature and great individual warrior skills made the tribe effective in the short-term, but ultimately Ungrack's tribe fell victim to their overall lack of strategic insight and tactical planning. Ungrack only survived by chance when he chased a small breakaway group of enemies away from the center of the battle just as the center got pinched by the enemies. Now he lives a mostly nomadic life as a mercenary.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Pilwick "The Canary" Magestamp Race: Deep Gnome Class: Wizard (Going divination) Background: Gambler Backstory:GIVE DADDY SOME GOLD! You usually find Pilwick by a table. Either peering over his book with an intense, frantic look in his eyes.. or even more frantically looking over the cards on the table. Don't get fooled by his chaotic demeanour, though. Beneath the surface lies a burning and calculating mind. Pilwick went to the surface after entertaining a couple adventurers with a game of dice by a svifnerblin stronghold years ago. He was hooked. The last fourteen or fifteen years have been spent gaining a lot, and i mean A LOT of enemies by counting cards at the local inns and taverns, scamming people and gambling at casinos.
Why is he called "The Canary"? Well, it is mostly himself. But he usually wears yellow tinted small rectangular glasses, writes with a large yellow feather and always, ALWAYS has his bird themed deck of cards at hand. Ability scores: 12141213915
Funds are running low, due to a recent loosing streak and Pilwick seeks other methods of earning a living. Maybe Acq Inc can help him on this quest for gold?
Torke has always had a knack of being a naive trickster of a sort, even at a younge age. During his youth, he had little respect for those with authority in his Yuan-ti tribe and was often scolded for doing so. Nonetheless, his personality had seemed to have two sides, with one being his chaotic childish nature, and the other a somehow observative and quiet young Yuan-ti.
Eventually, he was tasked by the tribe as a hunter and passed the trials beforehand; he grew to enjoy the thrill of survival and nature by each hunt. On the opposite end, whenever he was not to hunt, he would be found honing his swordsmanship via duelling his tribe's defenders. He used his cunning and deceptive personality to trick others of his intent when attacking, and used it to his favor.
He was known well within the tribe and began to properly acquaint himself with the tribesmen, but during one hunt, he had been led astray and found himself in a thicket he had not been in before. As he continued to wander, he eventually heard a voice penetrate into his mind to lure him closer to its origin. Eventually, he came across a longsword crafted in black-metal and ornate design. With his curiousity, he touched the longsword and immediately fell asleep from the shock of a large voice that had invaded his mind. The next day, he woke up at the crack of dawn and found his tribal home, only to see his folk had been slaughtered and mutilated. The bodies of his people were scattered and torn with inhumanely. He wept and mourned his loss, and his demeanour and changed to a serious tone. After awhile, a voice spoke to him in his mind that told him to scatter to the inlands and find a better home rather than staying in his ransacked tribe. After paying honor by burying and skinning all of his folk as part of their funeral rites, he set off to find wealth and newfound goals to keep his tribe's ancestry and bloodline intact.
