Elwarith looks back at the Mistbusters, smiles and disappears over the wall.

It is more like a wrought iron fence, so they can still see you. Off to the side of you, stunted pine trees grow out of the rocky earth in the graveyard near the foundation of the abbey’s north wing. The windows of the structure are cracked panes of leaded glass. Ancient gravestones burst from a thin crust of snow in the yard. Beyond the low wall that surrounds the graveyard, the ground falls away. The village lies four hundred feet below, and the view is breathtaking. Two hunched figures in cloaks seem to be arguing near a relatively new grave. They have not noticed you.

"I'm not of this town, so I don't know much about the Belviews..." Viorela puts a hand to her chin in consideration. "I only know the abbot is a good, kind man. I cannot imagine we are in any danger... Well, beyond your typical Barovian levels, anyhow." 

The two guards agree as the glance around the area, seeming uncomfortable. The bell tolls once more and Misha says, “Well, if you all are set here, Ivan and I will be taking our leaves. We’ll be at foot of the hill if you need us.” With that, he guards leave in a hurry down the trail, leaving the MistBusters+2 to their own devices.

Viorela nods at the guards and takes a few steps through the gates, looking for signs of Elwarith. Has his reconnaissance gotten any information? She was worried about the screams and such, but at the same time, had become more or less used to the idea that some people simply go insane in their free time.

"Well those two were lively gentlemen, speaking of..." Bry holds out his arm for Viorela, "Shall we abscond the abbey, I am thinking that a ghostly face appearing from that tree in front of Elwarith might make him give away his position, friendly wager?" Bry smiles a wicked smile

Viorela cannot resist taking the gentleman's arm. She smirks, "Hoh, that would be amusing. Though I worry he might anger the abbot should he attack the tree in kind."

"Well, then we'd just have to charm the Abbot back to liking us again, possibly through song and dance?" Bry flourishes his free hand as if ballroom dancing.

Around this same time, Elwarith returns to the group to see Viorela and Bry goofing off. I will assume that he properly debriefed you on the figures that he saw, as well as the gate.

Viorela will march onwards after being debriefed. She is so determined she either drags Bry along or let's him go at any sign of resistance. Doddling while waiting for information is one thing, but Viorela was on a mission.

"Mistbusters, let's have a chat with the abbot." Viorela pushes the gate open and steps within, undeterred by the loud creaks and moans coming from the gate. She will continue to walk until she reaches what seems like the proper entrance or is stopped.

The Revenant follows the Mistbusters+2 inside 

As Viorela slams the gate open, the two figures turn around, and start awkwardly running toward her. One voice, a gruff female(?) voice, shouts, “Wait a minute, lady. You can’t just barge in here!” Another voice, seemingly male, speaks in studders and... mule brays, “Y-yeah, haw! We’re s-supposed to be guarding that, haw!” The figures catch up to you and stand in your way. Their hoods have been removed in the hurry and you see...

Both stand about 4 and half feet tall. The male looks like a beardless dwarf with patches of donkey flesh covering his face and body. He has one human ear and one wolf’s ear, and a protruding wolf’s snout and fangs. His arms and hands are human, but his legs and feet are leonine, and he has a donkey’s tail. He seems to struggle when speaking. Meanwhile, the female’s left side of her face and body is covered with lizard scales, and the right with tufts of gray wolf fur. Between these tufts is pale human skin. One of her eyes is that of a feline, and her fingers and hands resemble cat’s paws with opposable thumbs. She has a gruff voice and wears a gray cloak with black fur trim. She seems to have no trouble speaking other than sounding like she’s gargled gravel for most of her life.

The woman puts her hands out, “Now hold on. What business do you have here? You can’t just walk in unannounced to someone else’s home. That’s pretty rude miss.” The man chimes in, “Y-yeah! Rude, haw!”

Viorela scowls at these mongrels for half a second as she lays a hand on the whip at her belt, but it sounds like these characters guard the abbot. Why would the abbot keep monsters around? She tries to hide the contempt on her face (deception: 8). "My sincerest apologies, how rude of me. I am Viorela and these adventurers with me are the Mistbusters. We have urgent business with the abbot, now if you will excuse us." Viorela attempts to walk past the pair of them.
