Telantha walks into the inn as one of her companions is looking at a table with cards on it.
"Anything interesting happen here?" She asks as she walks over. "Just a lot of books back in that house, so I headed out. Not even any good hidey holes or anything..." She raises an eyebrow at the hands on the table. "Hey, isn't that a great hand, though I don't like the other at all..."
OOC: Just realized most of the group seems to be trying to move on to the same day. Sorry to hold that up. I just wanted to take a quick peek before the night.
No worries here. I'm still trying to get to the tavern.
Sorry posts have been thin on the ground...work has been super busy and last night I was too tired to post.
Dragutin: Kendra nods and begins to clear the table. "Of course. It is getting late after all. Office is at the top of the stairs to the right. You can't miss it, its the one with every book in the history of the written word almost. There is a wash room at the end of the hall there, and then the guest bedroom is just adjacent to that. Please make yourself at home and let me know if you need anything."
She takes the bowls and the water glasses and heads towards the kitchen.
Telantha: Sarianna nods to you. "A bit of excitement indeed. Apparently a fire happened that didn't burn anything, all it managed to do was leave that awful burnt smell and scare off all of my patrons. Oh, and your friend seems to think there is a sub-basement here...but I was a child when the Outward were built, I would know if they dug another basement down there."The hostess sighs forlornly looking at her empty dining hall. "Well, can I get you some dinner a'fore bed? Plenty of open tables tonight."
Yam: Heading to the Laughing Demon, you walk in to find a cheerful watering hole that also serves tavern food of a wide variety. The man you met earlier in the evening, Zokar Elkarid tends the bar and takes orders that he shouts back to the kitchen. A slate at the door announces what the tavern is serving for the evening. The names of the dishes seem to have a certain macabre themeing to them.
Salad: Nightshade leaves with spectre oil dressing
Main Course: Corpse Chowder
Desert: Grave Dirt Pudding with Dead Man's Blood Syrup
House Drink: Liquid Ghosts
Elkarid smiles as you walk in. "Welcome friend! Find an open space or come up to the bar. We'll get to you in a jiff."
Dragutin heads up to the office. Dinner had been pleasant, and his new ward was good company, but his mind had wandered back to the book he had taken possession of. There were many things in the world that he hated, and one such thing was an unanswered question, an unsolved mystery. He had no delusion about learning everything, but he couldn't stand being made to be aware of his ignorance. The stairs barely creak under his footfalls, and he cautiously opens the door to the study. He didn't think anyone was still in there, but he also hadn't been keeping track
Dragutin finds the study cleared, the rest of the group having left to find meals and beds.
Telantha's meal passes without incident and she and Bowser each find their individual rooms and the evening's rest that awaits them.
Applebough finds a clear space in the back of Kendra's home that will make a perfect spot to root for the evening. Digging the taps in deep he sighs contentedly and begins his rest as well.
Yam and Eks make their way to an empty table. A young woman barely past her teen years walks up. "Good evening folks. Any special instructions regarding your meals tonight? Would you like to drink the Liquid Ghosts, ale, or water?"

Dragutin breathes deeply. There was something calming about places like this, quiet studies full of the musty scent of old books. He could almost see Professor Lorimor at his desk, open books strewn about, an inkpen in his hand. He takes out the tome, On Verified Maddness, and begins scanning through the pages, hoping to find something that would point him in the right direction. As he reads, he grabs any books off the shelves that might be related and delves into research for the next hour. He wouldn't get all the answers he sought, but perhaps he could put his mind at ease before retiring for the night.
Arcana check: 15 If the book relates to fey, fiends, or undead I have advantage for a result of 11 on the other die.
"Chowder and a ghost for me please"he says in his most civil voice. "And a quiet table if you have one"not wanting to stand out anymore than a Kobold does in an inn, Eks is hoping for a table with at least one wall nearby. One less direction to worry about.
Yam scowls, looks at Eks, and jerks his head toward a table in the corner. "I don't know about you, Fairy Man, but I like to sit with my back to a wall." He looks to the young woman, "Just milk for me." As he sits down here looks back up and catches her eye, "...and put it in a dirty glass."
Looking back at Eks, he says, "We can give it a minute and see if Elkarid comes over. If we haven't seen him by the time drinks get here, we should go talk to him at the bar. I'd like to get an idea of what he knows about this whole ordeal..."

Telantha orders some food, then settles down to eat. When done she would go up and take a bath, prior to turning in.
