I am running a Ravnica campaign. I have an idea on how to allow them to join guilds in-character during Session 0, but want to test it.
I ask players bring characters with no backgrounds - mechanical or lorewise. This campaign is what creates background. Just have a class and a philosophy in mind.
You need no knowledge of Ravnica - in fact, I encourage you joining if you don’t know the system. I need an unbiased look. If you do have experience with the setting, try to look at it in this perspective.
If you want to join, PM me a character sheets and some basic character motivators (honor, money, order, etc.)
I check Beyond excessively and will respond ASAP.
I‘m doing this by a post-at-will system: since I’m just testing a short adventure we won’t need a schedule or anything
While I allow any race, some are more recommended than others:
Highly encouraged - Human, Elf (nature-loving and intellectual), Centaur (warrior-protectors of nature), goblin (crazy but highly motivated), Loxodon (peaceful elephant people defending order), Minotaur (wild warriors), vedalken (law-loving small blue people)
Can be accommodated for - Lizardfolk (cold and calculating lizard people), dwarf (stout and proud laborers), gnome (small and curious), Tiefling (those descended from devils, not necessarily evil), aasimar (descended from angels, not necessarily good), warforged (constructs with souls made for a task), changeling (faceless and society-less people who can change their appearance), half-orc (descended from orcs, shares their wild instincts), tabaxi (cat people who like to steal), orcs, genasi (descended from elementals), shifter (kind of like werebeasts but more controlled
Not recommended- Dragonborn (descended from dragons in a strict social caste), firbolg (small giants and defenders of nature), Goliath (giants from mountains who believe in natural selection), kenku (raven people who can’t talk and like to steal), triton (strict and egotistic fish people), bugbear (monstrous mercenaries), hobgoblin (warlords), kobolds (cowardly dragon-looking monsters), yuan-ti (cunning snake-people venerating ancient gods), gith (enslaved by psychic rulers, they broke free), aarakocra (bird people)
Good news: we have 6. Bad news: there’s not a lot of difference in how the characters act, which I would like best. I’ll take applications up till tomorrow 11:59PM, when I am closing and picking the best applications will start.
Don’t worry if you’ve been waiting a while - I’ll try to account for when you applied for who I pick.

We have 4 players. We would like 6 if possible.
Good news: we have 6.
Bad news: there’s not a lot of difference in how the characters act, which I would like best. I’ll take applications up till tomorrow 11:59PM, when I am closing and picking the best applications will start.

Also, to be clear, please don’t look up info previous to starting this. I need fresh eyes.
Gimme a sec to compile submissions.
Ok, I have PMed the people who are in. If anyone wants to get on the sub list they can still send me an app. I’m closing the thread for now.
