Lyngheid crawls down to the lowest porthole she can see and opens it.
They are all at about the same level, but you find one about 30 feet further along that is only a few feet above the water line. It's dark inside, you can't make out much.
But you do notice smoke start billowing out from the portals around the ones that you exited from.
You easily shrug off the effects of the cold sea water, and your Ring of Swimming comes into play, you can cover almost twice as much distance swimming as you can running! Where do you go?
Nyx, you manage to cling to the hull of the ship as smoke billows out the portals. The rest of the party is in the sea, most on top of a giant sea turtle.
Suddenly a shout comes from the top deck as the smoke is noticed. "FIRE!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Umbriel sees Lyngheid use her Searing Smite against the hull. If it has any effect, Umbriel will concentrate his last reserves of magical power into a Ray of Sickness spell to assist with the damage.
(using one first level spell slot to make a sorcery point, then spending a point to transmute the spell from poison to fire damage)
Attack: 24 Damage: 13 Fire damage
Then he is content to ride on Baeshra's shell back to shore.

Piece of cake! You head straight for the direction where you think the closest shore is, and the fog closes in after about 45 minutes. Not long after that you can hear the waves lapping on the shore, and then you trot up a rocky beach.
Umbriel sits down on a large rock, and takes his shoe off, pouring chilly water out of it. "I've no idea, but I'd like to get somewhere we can dry off and recover for a few hours. With any luck, that boat is sinking, but if it is, we may have soggy giants on these shores soon, and I'm not feeling like a fight just yet."

Lyngheid attempts to pull this one open.

Lyngheid puts Lightbringer against the planks at the waterline and casts Searing Smite.
" Pity...I kinda thought it would make a good hotel..."
She waved to Nyx to come join them.
Nyx leaps for the sea turtle... "Is is kinda amazing....

Assuming Baeshra-turtle is in range, you manage to land on him, and Droop and Umbriel quickly stabilize you.
Once everyone is all aboard the Turtle, what's the plan?
( If Lyngheid can make a waterline breach she's happy to head off. )
Baeshra starts swimming back towards shore.

Yes, that does indeed help spread the fire!
Make a Survival check to know which way to swim.

Nicely done! Now what?
" Well.....that was an adventure....are we north or south of our previous position?"

Someone make a Survival check to see if you can tell if you are north or south of Port Llast.
Failing that, make some Perception checks to find out what there is around you.
