As you are picking out the horse (Halia has 4 to choose from), Droop is following you around. "Droop very excited! Droop thinks these are too big though. They will go bad before we eat them all?"
Umbriel will give Droop a bemused look. "No, little one. These are not for eating. We will be foraging along the way."
While Lyngheid and Rosie are off praying, Umbriel crunches some of the numbers on carts and animals. "If I'm not mistaken, Baeshra, that mule of yours should be able to pull around 2000 pounds of gear. Most of the carts I saw down at the Miner's Exchange looked like they weighed around 200 pounds or so. I have 60 pounds of feed, that's enough for one horse to eat every day for six days, or we can let the animals graze along the way and keep it in case of an emergency. I've got most of my gear in my backpack and in Pale's saddlebags, but I'd be fine with making the feed party feed so we can carry it on the cart. What do you think? Ireniana? Whistler?"

Droop looks a little disappointed, then perks up. "More soup? Droop likes chicken soup. And squirrels. Droop is helpful?"
The clerics finish their prayers, feeling a sense of calm and peace, but not any more lucky than usual.
By the time the horse shopping and outfitting is done, the party meets back at Stonehill Inn for a late dinner. Baeshra even joins them, as he and Whistler continue to get their names figured out.
Alright, to bed for the night and then set out in the morning?
Umbriel stops, and thinks. Looking at Whistler, he is suddenly reminded that the cart he was thinking of was the Lionshare Coster wagon. "I did, however, see carts available for about 15 gold at the Miner's Exchange. Perhaps if we use some of our pooled resources... What do you think?"

Baeshra will nod, "Sounds good to me. So, Umbriel will have his horse, I will probably ride the cart, I'm not really suited to riding traditional mounts," giving the ground a smack with his tail, "I'm happy to load supplies and any other spare gear into the cart to ease people's burdens, but will anyone else be purchasing a mount to ride?"
(He will go ahead and purchase a cart then and a couple other basic supplies. He has a 2 person tent that he can share, don't know if others are worried about that, but throwing it out there. Also, depending on just how much realism we want to bring into this, we're traveling across grasslands, so he'll make a point of gathering a good amount of firewood to take with us if needed to get a fire going at night, if that's a thing we're doing.)
Another rainy morning comes on the 10th of Flamerule. The party wakes up early, well rested and Baeshra excitedly shows off his new healing potion that he brewed himself.
A quick breakfast is followed by final loadups on the cart, rations and waterskins, and even a barrel of wate, feed for the horse and the mule, spare weapons, and rope, mess kits, whetstones, it's all there.
The party leaves Phandalin, cloaks over their heads to keep off the rain. The first few hours of the journey pass uneventfully as they follow the road from Phandalin to the Triboar Trail.
At the intersection of the Triboar Trail the party continues heading North, now forging their own trail through the grasslands and over small hills. Those walking behind the cart see that it is leaving fairly deep ruts in the soft, muddy ground, and Baeshra notices that the mule is having to work harder to pull the cart.
As you break for lunch, finding cover under a solitary oak tree, you discuss: keep going with the cart and risk getting it stuck? Back to the road?
Everyone throw a perception check in on their next post, and decide whether to keep going as is.

"I think continuing on is our best bet, but I will get out and walk ro reduce the weight, and if we need to, Umbriel's horse can help us pull free. We should also probably watch for dry ground to travel along."

Umbriel Perception: 3
"I agree. In fact, Droop and I will also walk, and we can load some of the supplies over Pale's saddle to further reduce the weight on the cart. I think continuing on is the best course at this moment."
The group packs up from lunch, rain still drizzling down, and continues their journey. The cart almost gets stuck at one point, but the lightening of the load has helped, and the overall pace is not hampered too much.
Just as the sun is getting low and you are all starting to debate continuing on or find a spot to camp for the evening, you all hear:
"Stop! Give horse and little horse. You go. We eat."
You turn around and see two huge, hulking creatures with spiky greatclubs and javelins in their off hands. These are big beasts, some sort of giant-kin, and some of you recognize them as Ogres. They are standing about 30 feet behind you, one on each side of the ruts left by the cart.
Umbriel will stop and tie Pale's reins off on the cart, then stand in the back of the cart to gain some height. Taking care to avoid hitting his friends, he'll summon his Sword Burst and say in as loud a voice as he can muster: "YOU STOP. WE NO GIVE HORSE AND LITTLE HORSE. YOU GO, OR WE EAT!!" Summoning his pact weapon for effect, he'll point directly at the ogre to his right hand side and say that last part as menacingly as possible, licking his lips for effect.

Whistler, confused at the sudden name change nods slowly.
"Whistler!" He mimics at Baeshra.
He shrugs at Umbriels question, animal handling was never his thing.

(So are we buying a cart or wagon and is anyone else getting a mount?)
Ireniana nods as she eats her food and glances at the cart and horses. "This will help us a lot."
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

"Carts will help us." parrots Whistler, finishing off his drink.

Alright, Umbriel, Droop and their gear are riding Pale, the horse. Baeshra has a cart for his donkey and some team supplies.
Is the party spending one last night at the Inn and then leaving in the morning?
What speed do you want to travel at (slow, normal, fast)?
Umbriel votes for one more night in the inn, and a normal pace northwards.
Whistler looks over to Lyngheid for some kind of permission.
