 Looting the goblin shrine.  ( Basically checking for curses).

Umbriel leaps up and tries to calm Droop down. Once the situation is defused, he goes over to Gundren. "This is certainly going to make life interesting. Master Rockseeker, I'm glad we've met - did you happen to hear anything that may provide a clue to the identity of this Black Spider that's interested in your cave? And speaking of which, may I inspect your map? I'm curious, and there's a dragon in an abandoned village north of here I'd like to try and deal with before too long. Getting an idea of travel times will assist in maximizing our efficiency."

 Lyngheid grinned, " Good to know."

She headed off to raid the altar and destroy it.

 Gundren nods and shows Umbriel the map.  "Nah, I donna know who the Black Spider is.  Other than he wants me mine, that is!  We discovered that Wave Echo Cave is the Lost Mine, aye.  I left me brothers at camp in front of the cave here, see?"  Gundren stabs the location of the mine on the map, "To get more supplies.  Then I was ambush-whacked!  I'm afraid we may have been followed and led the Black Spider to our mine."

After looking at the map, you decide it is about 1.5 days to Phandalin, and Wave Echo Cave is about a half day from Phandalin.

"Let's get going, at least to Phandalin, can ya get me there?"

Ireniana nods at Gundran. "I think we can get you there." 

" We should get my cousin to safety before we think about taking on the dragon I think."

Baeshra sighs, "Sounds like you have more missing cousins now."

 " They should have come into Phandalin for supplies by the time we get back. If they haven't....you may well be right."

As Umbriel lists off his options Nyx add "And a Banshee nearby as well..."

As the group start to get ready to leave, the Satyr heads to the front of the group.

"So you do not mind if I tag along a little longer do you? After all we have bleeds together and feed together, all we need now is to find a good inn and drink the night away and we are friends. Maybe play some cards with the locals and play them a tune or ten. And I don't really have anywhere to be apart from not heading south."

"That sounds good to me - we return to Phandalin first and resupply. We may need to seek lodging at a farm or someplace similar with Whistler's new friend, though."

"Droop is Goblin but friend. Hurt people who hurt friends and Owlbear. Whistler never hurt friend!" Whistler happily mimics as he tosses the shield, watching the Owlbear tear off after it and bring it back. "Friends go south! Owlbear and friends see new things than this nasty place. Maybe Whistler make friend armour so friend never gets hurt!" He tosses the shield again.

"WHISTLER THINKS FRIENDS SHOULD MOVE! BURN DOWN CASTLE! KAW!" he shouts back into the other room.

Whistler, make an Animal Handling check for trying to teach the Owlbear that Droop is a friend.

The party sets off for Phandalin, possibly lighting the castle on fire on their way out.

You set off due south, and it takes about half of the day to get through the woods and back into the rolling grass covered hills.  Around dinner time you spot the Triboar Trail just ahead.  Do you want to camp for the night, or push on and arrive in Phandalin in the middle of the night?  Gundren is pulling for heading straight to Phandalin.

Also, everyone make a Survival check at Disadvantage for foraging for this day.

Whistler make one for the Owlbear.  Normally it would be at Advantage for being in the forest, but your Normal pace makes Foraging at Disadvantage, canceling each other out so it is a straight roll.

Droop Foraging: 12

When Whistler and the owlbear burst into the room, Rosie jumps up from examining her new fun wand, then slowly approaches the owlbear, grinning and clearly very excited, but trying to remain calm for the sake of the creature. "Hello, sweetie! Aren't you a pretty one! We're going to be good friends, aren't we?" 

Rosie Survival check: 22

Admiring the crackling blaze that ensures Cragmaw Castle will no longer be a nest of villainy, Umbriel begins looking for food.

Umbriel's Survival: 17

 Unfortunately, those nuts were not, in fact, edible, and what he thought was honey turned out to be tree sap. He will consume a Bead of Nourishment.

LOL at Umbriel's foraging trend!

3 and 12, +6 for my modifier.

She may have been a creature of the forest but between her musical ways and her charms, she normally had to just ask for food and she would be given it.

Also, what does everyone decide about making camp?  You are a half day from Phandalin, just made it to the Triboar Trail.

Push through and get in in the wee hours of the morning, or camp here?
