Swin, you see the guards brace themselves as you begin to cast your magic, and manage to shield themselves from the worst of it (they both rolled 17 on the save). If they are impressed by your words and your magic, the relatively little damage they took, plus the fact that you vanished, seems to have diluted the effect, and they don't appear ready to give up.
Swin, you don't get much of a chance to look inside the room, but you see there is no-one else in the room immediately beyond the door, unless they are hiding.
Kef remains hidden, too far from the fight to intervene and not sure what to do.
Balassar moves to strike the guard in front of him again.
OOC: (Thanks Alton for auto crits) Damage from attack 1: 10 (5x2 from crit) Damage from attack 2: 16 (8x2 from crit) Damage from Giant's Strength: 6 (3x2 from crit)
Darren circles his opponent, drawing his blade as he does, so that the guard his between himself and Alton. Sensing an opening he launches his attack. Swinging his fathers old sword in both hands with all his might. He curses under his breath as his blow is easily deflected by the guards mace. “Telegraphed that swing.” He thinks to himself. (7 and 10 to hit if advantage is granted from flanking. I assume both rolls would miss)
Darren, you do get advantage if Alton moves - which I assume he does, but it makes no difference. That doesn't hit.
Balassar, your first strike is enough to kill Guard 2. I think you have enough movement to reach Guard 3 with your second strike - do you want to do that?
Alton shimmies around the guard to flank with Darren. Feeling the concentration slip from the dead guard he turns his attention to the three new opponents. "You should probably listen to us. We are here for just two things, their friend and your boss; that's it. Give us those two and we'll leave, or we will get what we want by force." He will then call on his magic again continuing his lyrical taunt casting hold person, "Woah, we're almost there, woah-oh, you two wait right there. Take a break, we'll make it I swear, woah-oh, hold on for a spell."
Movement: Moves to flank with Darren, and open a spot up for Balassar. Action: Casting hold person at 3rd level to try and get guards 4&5, DC 15 wisdom save or be paralyzed. Bonus Action: Giving Darren some bardic inspiration. For 10 minutes, Darren can add 1d8 to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw.

Guard 4 is held, and makes a saving throw at the end of his turn but fails, so is still held.
Guard 5 runs to attack Alton; one mace strike across the back (17 against AC), hits for 7 points of bludgeoning damage on Alton. Please give me a concentration check on your spell. Second mace attack misses (13 against AC).
Guard 1 attacks Darren with his mace: 18 against AC for the first attack, for 6 bludgeoning damage 11 against AC for the second attack, missing
Darren’s taunt must have really riled the guard up as he barely notices the mace just before it hits him in the face. Managing to put a shield up just in time. (Reaction used this round)
Swin sighs dramatically as she becomes visible again and looks at the fracas behind her. She points at the guard that attacked Darren and shoots a fire bolt. Attack: 22 Damage: 19
She steps 5 feet into the large room and looks to see if the place seems like it might be connected to a place that would hold people. She shouts Rhane’s name and then if she sees and hears nothing promising, she will exit and hug the NW outside wall of the building and use the remaining 30 ft of movement to look around the corner and get out of melee reach of the held guard. “Told you it was your last chance.”
Rhane, as before, you hear and notice nothing unusual.
Swin, you step into the room - it looks like it might once have been a pleasant room for welcoming guests to a home - there's a dusty bar, and a large table with chairs around it. It's clearly not been cleaned or tidied in recent years, and there's dust, dirt and rubbish all around, but it does seem the table at least has been in use; there are mugs and a bottle on the top. It's definitely not a prison complex, but you do see a door - closed - leading further into the building.
Kef runs up, not sure what to do and not near enough to do anything this turn, but seemingly keen to get into the fray.
Darren carefully steps over the guard that continually fanned him with a mace towards the next combatant. Giving him a once over glance for anything eye catching (perception 18) His sword held at the ready,
”Do you really want to keep fighting us. Three of your crew’s dead and the guy behind you is scared stiff.”
(if guard five attacks. Darren will attempt to strike him. 12 to hit for 3 slashing damage. Though Darren is trying to talk him down. Charisma 16)

Rhane hears nothing.
Guard 2 fails his saving throw and remains held.

The guard is paralyzed, so you roll an attack with advantage but do still need to hit. If you do hit, they are indeed criticals.
(During round three Darren uses his reaction for arcane deflection. Increasing his AC to 16. He mocks the guards inability to hit him)
”What did those poor bugs do to ya?”
Darren circles his opponent, drawing his blade as he does, so that the guard his between himself and Alton. Sensing an opening he launches his attack. My bad misunderstood the 5 ft thing:
1st attack 12 to hit
2nd attack natural 20 making it 27

Guard 3 is down too, skull thoroughly smashed.

Balassar roars and runs, reaching the held guard. Any bonus action?
Alton is up.
No bonus action for Balassar, unfortunately attacking isn’t a bonus action. 😢
