"Well I know these aren't puppies." Bree says with a smirk. "Did you hit your head when you were swimming? The puppies are probably still on the ship."
With everyone attacking various rats, only Oscar misses and what's left are 2 rats. One badly injured and one unharmed. As they come out of being stunned ...initiative...
Faleon sends another Fire Bolt at a rat, then winces slightly, wondering if he should've done that while his target was so close to Oscar. After a moment, he shrugs and thinks nothing more of it.
Gallo and Faleon finish off the last two rats. You're out of combat.
The ship that came over the falls is still burning at the bottom of the falls but being slowly pushed down river towards the other boat as the water builds behind it. The swell of the initial wave has past and the water level is slowly dropping as flaming debris continue down river.
"Let's get back and help those puppies." Bree tells the others, heading back towards the ship. "Wonder if the second boat has puppies too..." She says to herself as she heads in that direction.
"Damn! Blasted rat took a chunk outta me!" The halfling would exclaim after his companions finish the creature off. "I had em under control ya know.." He would say through gritted teeth as he presses his hand against his bloody wound. As Bree heads back towards the ship, Oscar growls and tries to keep up. "I'm commin..."
"I think we should check out that second ship first, it's on fire!" Realising that it didn't come out as sensibly as he intended, Faleon clarifies, "There might be valuables on there that are at risk of being destroyed if we don't save them quickly."
"...or people, and they might need our help." he adds, to cover the fact that he was a little over-zealous to find treasure.
Faleon heads after Bree, in the direction of the second ship.

You start headed back towards the ships and see that the burning ship lurches 15 feet down river towards the other ship.
(You'll have to tell me what ship you're going to, or if you're splitting up. Here's how I'm going to do this. Hopefully to add a little tension and make your choices important. Every time you take an action as a group, or team if you split up, I'm going to roll a d20. That's how many feet the burning ship moves towards the other ship. I know were not in initiative so when I say action I mean stuff like. 'We use the mast as a bridge to get onto the ship'. 'We search such and such' Stuff like that. It started 80' away. When it closes that distance it will start to set the other ship on fire as well. If there's anyone on the other ship at that point I'll roll to see how quickly the fire spreads. )
"What?" bree asks in surprise. "Um, how you going to get on the burning ship without getting crispy yourself?" She asks. "Puppies there will just have to fend for themselves until we save the ones on the non-burning one first." She continues towards the first, non-burning, ship.
Oscar would race after Bree, sticking close and helping her in her search for dogs. He would keep his eyes peeled for any indication of what had happened onboard or any weapons or armor or valubles that might have been left behind.
Faleon pauses. "Hmm. I see your point." With a wistful look at the burning ship, and the glorious flammable contents he imagines are inside, he follows the others to the first ship. "I think we can climb aboard on that fallen mast."

With everyone in agreement you all go up the fallen mast to the deck of the first ship. Although the mast is charred it's plenty large enough for you to make it up without issue. Fortunately you are all light as many places of the deck look almost burnt through and unstable to walk on. The deck is tilted a few degrees but still walk-able. There are the remnants of a captains quarters in the rear of the ship. It's been badly burnt and the roof is collapsed in. It's possible someone could crawl under the roof to explore. The other thing you notice it that the main hatch leading below decks has a large padlock on it.
Seeing Bree tending to the padlock to get below deck, Faleon in the meantime will attempt to crawl into the captain's quarters to have a quick look around.
(If Bree gets the padlock open and the group descends below deck together, Faleon will be keen not to be left out, but for the moment figures the quicker they explore all the different options, the quicker they can get to the second boat!)
Gallo stays above deck, "The other ship is getting closer, I'll keep an eye on it. If I shout, you run.. or you get both burned and drowned at the same time. If you need to fight anything then draw it up here."
