Veryes is inwardly suspicious of the elf woman and is concerned about the odd smell in air but outwardly she puts on her most gracious smile. "Yes, my lady, the forest is beautiful. Almost as beautiful as you are. If you have any advice on what gift would be acceptable to leave we would be most appreciative!"
Persuasion: 16
If possible I'd like to see if I can identify the smell also. Not sure what you'd like rolled for that. My nature and insight are +1, perception is +3 so here's just a d20 and use whatever is appropriate. 9
The lady remains pleasant as she approaches, her footsteps light as the leaves and snow don’t even crunch under her feet as she walks gracefully. As she draws near you begin to see her skin under the sheer robes as bark like protrusions cover her body. Her hair long and tangled into a braid resembling hanging roots.
”No such creature has crossed my path recently.” She replies to Kondo.
Kondo -
She seems confident in her words and and doesn’t give any inkling that she’s misleading about seeing Kobolds. As to her intent about the gifts, she also seems to truly believe it, but you don’t quite know to what her intent and purpose is for them. Although she looks to belong to the forest, something is off about her being here.
“It’s impossible for me to know what you should give without knowing what you have. Mother knows you’re intent.... show your promise to not harm what dwells in the forest and obey her rules.” She looks at Trynwyn with a wink. “She just wants your devotion.”
Veryes - It’s hard to place the smell as it’s much more foreign or obscure than you’re used to. You’re best guess it’s just a heavy pollen scent From some sort of flowering plant.
As the elf thing closes in Veryes pulls out her flute "Perhaps a song of springtime to celebrate the new growth as it wakes from its slumber!" Veryes will start playing her flute and skipping around to create distance between her and the elf thing. (I'd like to make sure I stay out of melee range)
"It seems m'lady here has not seen any kobolds, perhaps there is another trail to follow." Turning to the elf "Terribly sorry to bother you lady of the trees. We shall be on our way and not disturb you any further"he bows, respectfully. As he stands he whacks Trywyn on the shoulder "Get up Tryn" he whispers.
The woven woman gracefully twirls and lightly claps with the tune. Smiling and appreciative of the song. She begins to walk closer towards Trynwyn. “I thank you for the dance. But I think I will be keeping this one” with a nod toward Trynwyn on the ground. As she says this roots begin to raise from the ground, wrapping and cooling around his legs.
If Trynwyn chooses to escape: DC 13 Athletics or acrobatics. On failure he is restrained.
The roots begin to wrap around Trynwyn and constrict. Forcing him to be lying on the ground. You hear his breath blowing against the roots as his nose sticks out, everything else is covered in bark and roots.
Now you see the beautiful image of the woven woman has changed. Exposed fangs protrude from her face, her fingers grow into sharp talons. The buzzing grows louder as locusts begin to swarm and spin around her. Taking her true dryad form.
His colleague being taken over by roots causes a moment of curiosity for Kondo. What happens when a magical creature dies? Does the magic live on? Does it disappear? So many questions run through his mind that he barely realized he has taken aim and unleashed a bolt at the forest creature.

Before Kondo realizes it, he’s sending a pulse of energy towards the Fey monster. Unfortunately he wasn’t focused when aiming and he misses by a couple inches.
however Veryes’s Eldritch blast screams through the air and slams into the dryad’s left shoulder. Sending shards of wood scattering in the air as she recoils.
Rimmy yells at Trynwyn, seeing that he looks to be in some sort of trance and slams his quarterstaff across the face of the dryad. The buzzing intensifies as she gets her composure to retaliate.
The Dryad’s arm wooden roots take the shape a a large mallet and she swings back at Rimmy.
Attack: 20 Damage: 2
she points her other hand towards Veryes as the swarm of Locusts fly over and start to sting and bite.
Attack: 11 Damage: 3
Her mallet strikes true as the dryad returns a blow to Rimmy’s chin. Sending him on his heels for a moment.
Veryes is able to shake free from the locusts before they do any damage, though they remain swarming around him.
The Dryad looks to get some cover from all the strikes from different locations and runs behind a tree. (Provoking an attack of opportunity from Rimmy)
"Not so fast!"Rimmy takes a great sweeping strike at the retreating Dryad.
Quarterstaff Opportunity Attack: 18 Damage: 5
"Didn't think we'd fight back, eh? We're not gonna let you get away that easily."
Thorn Whip Attack: 25 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. and pull the Dryad 10 feet closer hoping to slam the creature into the tree they're attempting to hide behind.
