To Koric's remarks about Kroneker, Badrizar says, "Agreed, Koric. Let's take the high road."
To Selthar, the dragonborn replies, "Blocking our return...I had not thought of that." --then, a bit facetiously-- "There's a fine collection of intellectual cogs and whirs your maker placed within you, Selthar."
Returning to all seriousness, he says, "I'm all in favor of positive outcomes, friends. An unhindered departure is a positive for us. A reclaimed cloak is a one for them."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Selthar retrieves and drinks two healing potions from Kroneker's pack. Healing: 12
"Then it seems we are in agreement. Let us attempt interaction."When he is done Selthar hands the cloak to Koric and moves Kroneker to the side of the stable. "I will remain at a distance to watch over Kroneker and assist if things turn for the worse." Whoever approaches the estate Selthar will keep them in his sight as well as try to position Kroneker so he can see him.
Koric puts his weapons away, straightens his clothes and hair, then says "Let's go, then".
He walks slowly to the nearest tower guard, holding the cloak in his left hand, and says "I believe this belongs to your master. We humbly offer apologies on behalf of our deeply troubled fellow traveler, and wish to make it clear that our offer of assistance is genuine, and remains. Perhaps we might speak with him."
No one waits at the door. You find a guard as he helps prepare to leave the manor, in the grand hall. He doesn't have his pike, though he does have a truncheon at his belt. Some servants now are picking through the gathered piles, filling bags. He spares a moment to examine the cloak, then looks to you. "It looks like Aelar's. He must be looking for it. He'll be on the third floor, east wing." He points to the left balcony. "Sir Razgerah went to ready the horses- he must have went to the constabulary too. He'll be back soon, I'm sure." With that, he hurries to the right wing.
Varus, the one who woke Sir Razgerah with you earlier, emerges in a near-run from the hall where you fought the oozes. He comes to a reeling stop when he spots you, and comes to the railing. The distress you see in his expression tells that he looked to the scene already, and had already looked around for you. He looks to the servants briefly, whom continue unaware of the scene, then back to you. "What happened?" The servants glance up at his loud voice, but continue their tasks.
Koric steps forward, "I don't think we have been properly introduced. My name is Koric; we came to return this..." he says, holding up the cloak,"...I am myself not entirely sure what happened, but wish to offer our apologieson behalf of our deeply troubled fellow traveler, and wish to make it clear that our offer of assistance is genuine, and remains. We were hoping to speak with Sir Razgerah, if he were available?"
The man remains silent for a few seconds. "Koric? Sir Razgerah will be back shortly. Let's speak outside." He comes down the stairs quickly, calling a couple guards as he strides to the door, taking his pike from behind a curtain. Once outside with you, the two guards seem uncertain of the situation, but Varus stands with the pike held at his side.
"I haven't had the chance to introduce myself.I'm Captain Varus. While I'm not a noble inheritor of the business here, I have higher authority when it comes to security matters, and am the adjutant." He looks to Selthar and the goblin. "If you wish to properly restrain him, we have some cells at the constabulary just over there. We may as well go now, Sir Razgerah should be there. Now... please explain, whathappened?"
((If you agree to go, he'll start walking almost straight out the front doors, keeping pace with you, the guards following 15' behind.))
When the others leave the estate Selthar shoulder's his goblin burden and moves to the others. "I recommend the use of current facilities for temporary restraint. We can also meet Sir Razgerah and explain to everyone what has transpired one time. Repeating the same facts is not efficient."
Koric stops when he exits the Tower and replies to Selthar, "Ordinarily i would agree, but we do have limited time. And the Captain is responsible for security and more than capable of relating the pertinent facts."
Turning to the Captain, he smiles and says "Thank you for the kind offer captain, but it won't be necessary. We intend to send him back to our world, since this world...let's just say...offers limited prospects for any who remain. We have urgent business elsewhere, and very limited time. So I will answer your question, and any others you may have, but then we must be on our way."
"When we went to the room as agreed with Sir Razgerah, there were oozes which burst through the door, and ultimately led to the death of a servant. As to how the oozes escaped, we have no direct knowledge; initially we suspected foul play, but you have been nothing but gracious."
At this point he takes a deep breath, trying to assess the Captains mood, then continues, "We hoped that by returning the cloak to you as a sign of our good faith, you would see our honorable intent. And of course, when you are ready, we will assist your household to escape, as previoudly agreed. How long do you think it will be until you are ready?"
Varus listens as looks to Badrizar and Koric's eyes repeatedly."Oozes. They were burning through the door, by the looks of it. I had only suspected you for not being there or informing anyone straight away."Gesturing to the goblin on Selthar's shoulders, he nods and comes forward to take the cloak. "Gnomes shouldn't be trusted. I'll return this to Aelar for you."
He looks to the two guards, then back to you. "It's strange that oozes appeared in there, but after seeing the night sky one moment and then a morning sun the next instant, I'm not going to dismiss anything." Stepping in closer, he lowers his tone."Razgerah wouldn't up and leave unless he saw no value left in staying. We'll be ready in the next ten minutes, I'll see to it."
With that, he turns back to the doors and hurries to oversee the evacuation of valuables, right away pushing a servant to stop sorting things and commanding the woman to do something else.
When Varus moves on, Selthar says to Koric and Badrizar"Is Captain Varus going to inform Sir Razgerah of what happened in the estate? Are we now able to leave the estate and return Kronecker? Are we expected to wait 10 minutes for Captain Varus to join us?"
Koric purses his lips, "I am unsure; I was told the wand could be used anywhere to --- open a portal? -- to return. We may all benefit from a rest, though I do not know what their reaction will be if they are unable to retun with us."
"How are you both feeling...we could take the opportunity for a rest?"

"Yes," echoes Badrizar as he nods in agreement with Koric. "The long-eared green gnome acted foolishly and without our blessing."
The man remains silent for a few seconds. "Koric? Sir Razgerah will be back shortly. Let's speak outside." OOC: So is the "Captain's" name Koric or Varus? So confused...

Koric bows slightly to Varus, "Thank you, Captain. Then we will begin our preparations..."
