The floor of this cave is strewn with the remnants of old campfires. Four side caves serve as sleeping areas, with five small wooden cots crammed into each one. Meep introduces the eight gnomes in the cave by writing their names in the campfire ashes. There are four females -- Caramip, Jabby, Nyx, and Quippy -- and four males -- Anverth, Delebean, Pallabar, and Zook.
OOC - Who's going back with Lathalas? Are we splitting the party?
When we reach G12, we'll either have Mithrokk or Farnakees do the talking. We want to keep the gnomes calm.
We inform Fibblestib and Dabbledob through Meep to let their comrades know that we are on a mission from the Kings and their cooperation is much appreciated.
We ask for permission if we may search their sleeping quarters and general room.
We also ask them if they have noticed anything unusual since the disappearances started happening. Any unusual or out of the ordinary sounds or occurrences.

The gnomes allow you to search their sleeping quarters, but you find nothing of interest.
Your search of the workshop doesn't turn up anything out of the ordinary -- the projects on the table are unfinished, while the writing on the spellbook on the ledge cannot be deciphered by a non-magical mundane like Lathalas. A wizard such as Rastaris is able to peruse the tome's table of contents, however. The book is entitled the Magick of Gnomengarde, and contains the wizard spells Burning Hands, Detect Magic, Identify, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Shield, and Sleep. It appears to be a common spellbook shared by all the gnomes.
"I think the pedestal could use some Mending," a sheepish Lathalas whispers to the gnomes. He quickly follows this up with, "Is the workshop always occupied? I would assume that inventors such as yourselves are always in here, working on the Next Big Thing."
OOC: Any chests, armoires, and/or cabinet-types in the workshop?
OOC: Assuming that Meep is in here, nothing smells out of place, right?
The party crosses the bridge again to the guardroom. The gnomish repair crew are hanging around the area, in case you destroy the bridge again. They exchange coin whenever Farnakees or Mithrokk crosses, suggesting there might be a betting pool on whether the dwarf or the goliath will be the next one to break the bridge.
There are no cabinets or containers in the workshop. Fibblestib says sometimes there are lots of gnomes in the workshop, sometimes just one or two. Meep doesn't smell anything out of the ordinary.
The guardpost cave is empty. The tunnel to the west leads to a cache of weapons on a ledge 10 feet above the cave floor. There are open boxes containing daggers, short swords, light crossbows, and bolts here.
The wine storage room contains 12 forty-gallon barrels set into wide alcoves. Each barrel is secured by a wooden brace. The barrels in the south alcove have been tapped with wooden spigots.

OOC: Where next intrepid adventurers?
OOC: Have we searched G11? Is that the workshop?
Yes.
We could do G9 - G8 - G7 (Crossbow Room) - G6 - G3 - G4 -G5?
OOC: In which post # did we search the workshop/G11? I must have missed that.
OOC: Let's search all of the rooms in the western section first. What about G15?
OOC -G15 is part of the throne room; the door to that room is barred.
OOC - You haven't searched the workshop yet.
Lathalas searches the workshop, greeting any gnomes he finds there.
Rastaris follows Lathalas' lead. He will search the workshop as well.
If they don't find anything , he suggests moving to G9.
OOC: Are the corridors between the rooms clear of anything? Not sure if we need to be searching the corridors, too.

The muggle elf stabs the pedestal with his spear.
The pedestal bleeds ... nothing.
The gnomes are wondering why you damaged their pedestal.
OOC - The corridors are clear of debris; if there's anything in the corridor, I'll mention it.

We search the guardpost, expecting to find nothing but two dropped crossbows.
OOC: How did we enter Gnomengarde? How does the outside world get to G9?
OOC: Nothing of interest in G10? Can we search it on the way across the bridge?
There was a narrow path up here (G9)
If we do not find anything in the Guard Post, we proceed to G8 (Wine Storage).
OOC: I think they would have picked up their crossbows a long time ago.
OOC: Turning in early tonight. Noel will be play Farnakees ;-)...
