Same in my trunk: some food is missing, this might be those carmelions or whatever their name...well, if that's all the revenge thay could have, so be it
Brocc is unhappy at the fact someone was in their camp, and took supplies from under their noses. He is ill-at-ease after this and would be constantly scanning around the group as they move out.
The companions continue their trek north and after a few hours Hatch and Herman note a strange uniformity to one of the hills to their east...it reminds Hatch of the mine entrance from their first excursion into the Moonstones.
To the far north can be seen faint signs of campfire smoke.
Herman finds quite a few tracks as they move on, most appear to be large leather soled boots along with numerous deer, rabbits and other small mammals.......there are also some bare humanoid footprints with prominent claw marks at the toes.
Banzos familiar spots the now familiar sight of of griffons in flight but they seem to be landing on a rocky hilltop rather than attacking, the smoke is coming from a number of fires on a stony projection below the top of the hill. Banzo sees there are some people waiting for them further along the path, not in hiding.
As they draw closer a group of six young barbarians in crude leathers and wielding spears call out to them.
" Come with us. We will take you to speak with the elders."

Hatch would make a note of the hill and probable mine as a highly suspicious target. Possible infernal influence could be involved in the missing crown affair, it could be found there...

"Aye, thank you very much." All manners, all the time.
Zeltheris nods and smiles and starts playing a simple tune as he recites exaggerated versions of the groups achievements.

Zeltheris' stories and songs hold the attention of the young barbarians and soon they begin to relate, somewhat garbled, versions of them to their families and friends as the group begins passing through dwellings on their way towards what the youngsters call The Eyrie.
The strange piercing roars of the griffons echo down from above as they ascend and they note a number of darker plumed griffons almost twice the size of the ones they saw earlier perched on the ledges above.
The entire community comes out to gawk at the strange procession, for many it is the first time they have seen an automaton, a half-demon, a turtle folk and others.

Banzo follows as they're led to meet with the elders.
"Be wary of what you say and to who you say it, remember one of our theories is that it could be an inside job."
"I have my own suspicions. Remember that mine? There's a hill we passed, gave a very similar vibe."
Finally the group arrives on the plateau there they see a rough amphitheatre around a cleared space; a badly beaten man is tied to a rack there and the companions recognise him as the leader of the barbarian group that they encountered. On a high stone chair dressed with hammered gold is a massive heavily scarred man with a mane of hair and a necklace of griffon talons on his broad bronzed chest.
"I imagine that they believe that this man stole their crown. Whether they're in the right or wrong? Well, perhaps we can get to the bottom of." Hatch shrugged. He was no diplomat.
"We were traveling here to help and were told that the elders wished to see us. Please explain what all this means?"
Banzo lowers his arm that he was pointing with and tries to stand in a casual manner.
The man on the throne rose and grunted to the others seated around the amphitheatre, an old grey haired man with a wicked set of talon scars down his front addressed Banzo.
" I am sub-chief Tangari, this man failed in his mission and is being punished for doing so. As ordered by King Felgard, holder of the throne of Talonstone."
" You are those he spoke of? Who defeated him and his men in battle?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Aye, we beat him. Soundly. Because he was in the wrong, nailing every hillman he could see from up on high just because maybe possibly without proof one hillman from one tribe of 'em might've stolen the thing. As if scary genocide ever releases the truth, instead of making it scamper into a hole quaking in its boots. Of course he failed, he never attempted a proper investigation, he never tried interrogation, all just fear and murder, bah. That's way we come, try and do some actual looking searching and questioning."
This may have been the most Hatch had ever said in one go, but clearly he held a lot of fascination for investigation and proper sleuthing, even if he was no good at it. But hopefully his allies were better at this sort of mystery thing.
Edit: Might as well throw in a persuasion there since he's kind of trying to persuade them to let them look into it...prolly gonna regret this...
Herman listens closely and at the end of Hatch sentences, Herman knows that, even If his friend meant good, he can be easily misunderstood, so he steps in:
"allow me, sib chief Tangari, may the wolf guard you. I am Herman.
Your tribe man fought well, but we did fight back, even better. But even if we didn't, your men would not have found anything, because there was no crown to find with those hill men?! We rely on your scent and willing to help"
OOC: Pratically giving HELP to Hatch persuasion, if so he will be able to re roll
Zeltheris sidles over to a nearby local, "Excuse me, is it common for this man to speak for the king? Is the king not capable of speaking for himself?"

He says, spitting on the ground.
Let's just leave camp and be out.
Zeltheris plays a cheery tune while the others break camp and keeps up a quieter one for the march.

"Optics are running at optimal capacity," clanks Shalana, helping pack up the camp.

"Likely our destination." Brocc comments as he nods towards the smoke. "Shall we continue and see if we can reach it today yet?"
Herman nods and, while walking and getting close to the camp, he takes a look for tracks to foresee who can be possibly there .
Fine for me

Herman like this rude attitude and the importance given to the elders, he totally abides

Brocc moves to the back of the group, knowing others here are better at speaking and diplomatic-type things than he is.
