Herman listens closely and at the end of Hatch sentences, Herman knows that, even If his friend meant good, he can be easily misunderstood, so he steps in:
"allow me, sib chief Tangari, may the wolf guard you. I am Herman.
Your tribe man fought well, but we did fight back, even better. But even if we didn't, your men would not have found anything, because there was no crown to find with those hill men?! We rely on your scent and willing to help"
OOC: Pratically giving HELP to Hatch persuasion, if so he will be able to re roll

(holy crap if the reroll's allowed I finally did good!)
"Aye, we beat him. Soundly. Because he was in the wrong, nailing every hillman he could see from up on high just because maybe possibly without proof one hillman from one tribe of 'em might've stolen the thing. As if scary genocide ever releases the truth, instead of making it scamper into a hole quaking in its boots. Of course he failed, he never attempted a proper investigation, he never tried interrogation, all just fear and murder, bah. That's way we come, try and do some actual looking searching and questioning."
This may have been the most Hatch had ever said in one go, but clearly he held a lot of fascination for investigation and proper sleuthing, even if he was no good at it. But hopefully his allies were better at this sort of mystery thing.
Edit: Might as well throw in a persuasion there since he's kind of trying to persuade them to let them look into it...prolly gonna regret this...

Reroll: 21
Hatchs words catch the attention of the man sitting on the throne who lowers his gaze from the horizon, nodding as Herman steps up beside Hatch and taking note of his tribal affiliation.
He raised a scarred hand and Tangari quickly seated himself and grew silent.
The man on the throne rose to his feet, " Half-Man! You are correct!"
Tangari and a dozen other chiefs looked shocked and shifted uncomfortably in their seats.
" The crown is missing!"
All of the assembled chieftains rose to their feet, some with looks of shock, others with resigned expressions and others with anger.
" And some....among my...advisors...recommended that this remain unsaid and sent out men to scourge the hills until it emerged."
" To rely on outsiders to solve my problem is a sign of weakness......", he scanned the crowd of chieftains. "....and that will be tested over the next few days. I see many among you who would challenge me. And I will meet those challenges!!"
" But to rule without the crown......that is a heavy burden. My shoulders can bear it a while longer, I see no others here who can!"
" Half-Man! Take your strange people and look into this! Peek and Peer and Discover! But do not take too long.....eventually my arm will grow heavy from cutting down these weaklings!"
" No more flights will go out until these Strange Ones have reported their findings!"
Zeltheris sidles over to a nearby local, "Excuse me, is it common for this man to speak for the king? Is the king not capable of speaking for himself?"
The man simply grimaced and moved quickly awy from Zeltheris.
"Wearing a crown is not the only thing that makes a great king! Showing mercy and other noble traits are always highlighted in the tales of great kings! Stop torturing this man and set him free! Have him serve as our guide while we are in your lands searching for the missing crown!"
Banzo tries to sway the elders and sub-chief Tangari to at least consider freeing the man and making him our guide.
Persuasion check: 17
The Kings gaze swung across towards Banzo from Hatch, " Do as the Scaled One says. I release him into your service for as long as I live."
"Thank you." Hatch gives a bow and turns to his companions. "Alright, we need to set up a plan. Who do we question and where do we look. We're on the sundial so let's be quick about it."
"Hostile intentions are detected," clanks Shalna with a little clunk coming from within. Small gears whirl and little panels shift until the whirling stops, Shalana ceases to short circuit for now.

"I would suggest we have each of those who are here speak as to their own knowledge of the crown and of what has become of it." He glances to his companions. "Can any of you detect lies, or force people to speak only truth?"
"Shalana has been programmed to detect non-constructs deceiving. Unfortunately, the teachings prohibit the use of effective methods of extracting the truth but Shalana understands different techniques that are not in direct violation of directive 50110366," the menacing robot actually sounded sad about the prohibited methods.

Herman knows nothing of such directives but he feels a little ackward when for a brief moment his wolf pelt nods up and down, as if to agree with what for the barbarian is just a strange machine
He never thought about punching faces as if EXTRACTING THE TRUTH, in his opinion it gives it a cold poetic touch, he likes it.
Nonetheless, he keeps his mouth shut, both because he is not the most clever at planning but also because he saw something on a stake passing by and now he is also smelling it.
That reminds him it is the high time they should chew something, he keeps silent, it is very rude to break a tribe discussion, he simply wish it to be over soon.
"I'm afraid I've no spells to compel the truth or detect falsehood. However I have noticed that if you provide a carrot rather than only a stick you get more than otherwise. Perhaps offer an award for information of actual use?" Hatch tried his best.
Zeltheris shakes his head, responding in a more plain and factual sounding voice than his usual performance oratory, "I think the one who stole it isn't interested in money and any who helped him likely either invested in the thief's success or afraid of them. A reward isn't likely to accepted in good faith, and I've never felt torture to yield good results. But asking the right questions might help, but a physical search is our best bet."

"About that, I did have a thought. The thief or thieves probably won't take the risk of carrying the crown hidden on their persons, so most likely has it stowed somewhere nearby, assuming it was stolen by someone here and not that group of Hillmen. We should search the premises fairly thoroughly, but I suspect that the king already would have done that. Which means it is most likely in the area, but not here specifically. And I did notice a cave that piqued my interest..."
Hatch has almost never spoken this many words sparing times when a woman was involved.
Shalana spins around, "Companions agree to Shalana's methods of extracting evidence?"
"We can't violently force people to give the truth. But if you can sift through what is a lie or isn't while we use non-violent means to question them, that'd be great."

"If it is normally secured away, who was guarding it at the time it went missing?" Banzo hopes to discover it's last known location and try to track it from there. "And who was the last one to actually see or hold it?"
The King looked down at the reptile-folk from his throne, " It is normally held within the vault under guard. My nephew and one other were those on duty when it went missing. They were the last to see it. I was the last to hold it, some weeks ago."
" If you wish to speak with them you will need a priest, they were fed to the Too-Ki for their failure."
He turned away and began striding across the stepped seating area, daring any of the chieftains to strike at him with fierce glares....

(holy crap if the reroll's allowed I finally did good!)
Shalana detects that every single person here is bristling with suppressed hostile intentions.
" Missing Crown? Ah....you have heard false rumours I am afraid.", he glanced momentarily over his shoulder towards the other chieftains.
" The crown is quite secure in the sacred vault."
" This man was sent out to secure owed tribute from the Hillfolk."
Hatchs words catch the attention of the man sitting on the throne who lowers his gaze from the horizon, nodding as Herman steps up beside Hatch and taking note of his tribal affiliation.

" What did you want to see first?"
