Passing through the sundered doors the group enters a large square room some 50m across with a flat ceiling engraved with stylised tools in a cascading pattern. Three doors sit on each wall, all are metal of a dull grey colour and above each one is a plaque.
If you read dwarvish:
East Wall- Ragnars Folly, Gevaudans Cleft, The Fall.
North Wall- Amethyst Cradle, Larguns Lode ( Sundered), Brahgelds Vision.
West Wall- Silver Fountain, The Earth Womb. Kravens Keep.
The central door directly opposite has been torn off its hinges and lies on the stone floor...
"So where to from here." Brocc asks as he looks to the various doors. "Do we want to track down what broke in here, and destroyed everything, or do we wish to check out other doors first?" He clearly sounds less than excited about tracking down whatever broke the doors down.
Garet quickly reads the plaques, above each of the doors and relays the information to the party, didn't one of the books mention Ragnars folly he just hoped he had retained any useful information from his over the shoulder reading if they went that way.
"I agree with Banzo , I much would rather deal with whatever is creating this havoc than be surprised by it." with that Garet heads towards Larguns Lode door on the north wall.
The companions pass through the destroyed door passing more smeared remains of what they now assume to be the dwarven occupants of the hall.
Beyond the broken portal a long stone ramp led down into the earth as they began to descend they began to note small occlusions of pyrite and quartz crystals bouncing light around the arched roof in a most beautiful manner.
After an hour or so of walking the tunnel came to a sudden stop at a huge shelf, looking out over a vast natural cavern run through with huge amounts of quartz crystal and within and through the quartz were thousands of veins of gold. The cavern was truly vast and the lights illuminated only 50m or so as they reflected off of the crystal.
Somewhere hundreds of feet below in the darkness was the cavern floor....a large number of small tight stairways led off from the shelf down into darkness....
"Anyone think to read the book on this tunnel?" Brocc asks as the group stands atop the ledge overlooking the vast cavern below. "Might have had some good information on what we are up against after all..." If no one read it he would return to the previous chamber to read through that book, if the group is ok with that. If they wish to simply move forward, then he will not bother to return to look for that book.
I am part of the cult of Jerry, fear Jerry, love Jerry, be Jerry, we are Jerry. I'm really sorry that I haven't been able to Dm recently. I owe everyone a lot of apologies . I'm really sorry. I would like to start a new campaign. Message me for questions.
Garet mused over what Brocc says and exclaims "No I think the book I saw was on Ragnors Folly. I don't disagree a little more information would be useful. However none of us should be alone with a beast on the loose and we shouldn't be apart for too long. How about I accompany you back we liberate the useful book and bring it back here to read."
Garet unless there are any objections accompanies Brocc back to the library, moving as swiftly as possible.

Garet and Brocc head back using their knowledge of the dwarven language they soon locate two books that seem to contain details of Larguns Lode.
A Delving Diary by Largun Larkspur:
' After days of naught but fools gold and rubbish we happened upon a deep cleft in the hills depths. Some weeks later I returned with a parcel of stout miners out of Stonebridge and we worked to secure a safe descent through. The cavern is vast and contains enough gold for purpose and quartz of exceptional quality that the other guilds may find use for it. Over the last six months we have worked a through tunnel to Understein for ease of access. We have also explored much of the cavern and found in its depths a huge outcropping of crystal almost of a size with Understein itself. Next month I will take a team into the depths to seal up any voids that may lead to the far deeps or beyond.'
' Krashnig has discovered strange glyphs in the deep about the base of the outcropping. Junter has ventured that they look elvish but that is fools talk, never heard of faeries with a taste for digging. Old Lashmi has 'requested' that we suspend mining around the outcrop due to ' bad omens' but theres a wealth of gold in there to my eye and the gods have nevr done anything for me anyway. Me and the Stonebridge lads are going to have a crack at it next week when the old biddy is off on her rounds.'
Larguns Lode Geological Survey by Junter Silverskull
' Whilst the upper portion of the cavern is composed mostly of milky, rose and chalcedony quartz with significant quantities of molybdenite, wolframite and native bismuth the lower cavern is almost uniformly composed of smoky quartz along with significant deposits of gold and minor amounts of iron and copper pyrite.'
' The following tables detail surveyed mineral compositions from 897 surveyed sights throughout the cavern...."
' A final note regarding the novel crystal node located at Position X89, Z47, Y02: I suspect that the markings found upon the base are elvish in nature and perhaps the work of those exiled from the surface in the ancient days. I have sent a rubbing of the engravings off to my colleagues in the Fangthane but do not expect to hear back for some months. One of them has me slightly confused it is a symbol of Kerellim, who others call Throff but it is warped and inverted....the symbols surrounding it appear to be somewhat reminiscent of the Demon Princes Kalin and Myurr. I have suggested that it would be best left alone.'
"I guess we wait a moment until they return with the book, that way if they don't return and we hear a scream we're not that far away. I agree we should continue on together and face any monsters as the 'Heroes of Chalice.' We've gotten this far together as a group."
Banzo offers some thoughts as they follow in the wake of destruction left by the monster.
There are no terrible screams or indeed noises of any kind while they wait.....
Returning, Brocc fills the others in on what he has learned. "Sounds like this crystal they found is likely where the danger came from." He says in summary. "One of the dwarfs was going to take a crack at digging more there, and that was the last notes from that dwarf, or, from what I can tell anyway, from anyone else. Likely that was what let loose whatever caused all of this destruction. If we are truly going to seek it out, then I'd say this crystal mass with the strange runes on it is our best option."
OOC Garet hand lamp
( Roger.Roger.)
Garet follows everyone to the door taking his place at the rear of the party drawing his rapier whilst holding the hand lamp in his off hand.

Herman follows Garet, mumbling as you usual
Zeltheris sighs, "I suppose we'd better get it over with. Let's go find us a monster."

Zeltheris looks around the tunnel, "I bet we could sell the location of this gold mine for a sizable sum back at the city."
"you see, Zeltheris, that's talking!!!"
