Leaving the reception desk and senior offices the group has two options.....a long unlit narrow corridor stretching into the darkness of Administration or heading back to the branch and towards The Crucible.
"Seems a sound idea." Brocc agrees. "Better to have that in-hand if we come across the crystal beast, though I wonder at its usefulness, as it doesn't seem to have aided the dwarfs when they fought the beast." He frowns and glances to the others. "Would one of you want this mattock?" He holds up the earth-based weapon they found in the garden vault. "It could be useful against the crystal creature, but I am not sure how useful. I can use it, but my lance is already magical, so getting a magical weapon into another's hands might be more useful..."

Zeltheris shakes his head, "I prefer to stay away from danger, so I will pass."
"Maybe Zelteris is making good sense. We tangled with this thing once and suffered dearly for it, ever since we've been avoiding it. What if we could finish exploring this place without facing the demon again. That might be worth considering, especially seeing as how we've yet to find the one weapon that might aid us in defeating it."
Banzo rubs his thumb and index on his chin slowly in a mock pinching motion as he thinks about the matter.
"Unless of course we're taking it upon ourselves to rid the world of it's blasphemous presence. Keep in mind we did leave the King to deal with that evil fairy on his own. All I'm asking is do we absolutely have to deal with it before leaving?"
Zeltheris shakes his head, "That's not what I meant, I just didn't want the weapon that would place me next to the creature to use. Of course such fine heroes as yourselves will rid the world of this foul creature before its evil influence can spread and leave this place."
"I don't think leaving is our best option." Brocc says with a shrug. "I just want us to consider that, if we are getting attacked by the beast, fighting it should only be an option if we appear to have the upper hand. If it is winning, then flee as we did before. We are finding a lot of useful things here, I am confident we can best the beast eventually, but let us not be foolish as we gather items that may help in that. This weapon we seek may be the item we need, and the dwarfs simply did not have the right combination of allies when they fought the beast before." He continues down the hall. "As I said before though, putting all of our hopes on this single item might not be prudent. Other items may be of equal aid, and we simply have to find them yet."
The companions make their way down a long corridor which becomes wider and taller as they traverse it until it emerges into a huge stone hall. Enormous steel doors once closed the way to this place but they have been sundered and lay flat upon upon the stone beyond...
The hall has been entirely carved out of the stone into a gigantic workshop.
The central area holds a series of cauldrons needed to melt the various ores brought in from all over the delving. A giant Magma pillar flowing from the ceiling down through the floor into the depths of the world. It is surrounded by spiraling metal beams, seemingly unharmed by the enormous heat. Many other pillars are all over the hall, diverging naturally and often artificially from the main pillar. These pillars line along the walls of the great hall, forming an alley of magma from the great pillar to the entrance on the far side of the hall.
At the base of these pillars are the anvils, space for over a hundred dwarves to work. The centre of the long hall is free of workstations but holds space for displaying finished items and prototypes.
In the main hall most of the work seems to have been done on mundane items of both war and making, weapons, tools and armor - though calling it mundane would severely undersell the quality of the products.
Four wings spread off from the main hall labelled in dwarven runes. The two near the giant pillar are used to work fine metals, to mint them and create jewelry out of them. The wings closer to the entrance to the hall are used for all kinds of magical artificing. Priest and Smiths once worked together, to create beautiful Artifacts, blessed by Throff herself.
The area around the doors is littered with the splintered bones and armour of dozens of dwarves, more bodies...mostly unarmoured...lie scattered throughout the hall...most crushed and pulverised.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Both Brocc and Banzo come across a number of items as they move about the chamber, most are shallow echoes of broken enchantments present in sundered weapons and armour as if the force of the demons blows shattered the enchantments upon them.
But a number of items glowed brightly; a suit of plate armour, a number of maille armours and two shields along with a mace, a shortsword, dagger and a huge mithril maul.
The companions barely had time to register these finds when an enormous crystalline form thrust itself out of the vaulted roof of the chamber and roared its defiance at them.
@everyone: Damian, you have been great so far, I guess we really needed a map just to understand the situation because it can be really valuable (even if your description is nice).
@Herman, about the mithril maul: I must know if Herman would prefer that maul instead of the +1 halberd he know possesses, so questions:
- a +1 weapon is to considered magical, right? I haven't got that weapon the first time we fought the demon...
Brocc grabs the ring, if no one else did, and nods. "Let us continue onward."
Garet nods in assent and falls into step.

Zeltheris looks to the others, "Better to head to the crucible for the weapon first and explore later?"

( So, heading for the Crucible?)
(yes.)
(Yep, that is the plan.)
( Negative. That was a natural cavern. From the hints you've picked up The Crucible appears to be the practical science and engineering lab. )
(Yes on to the Crucible)
(yes for the crucible)

Brocc pauses to cast detect magic as a ritual, then he would wander through it all, looking for anything that is magical.
Zeltheris moves through the area, helping the others search for anything interesting.

- a +1 weapon is to considered magical, right? I haven't got that weapon the first time we fought the demon...
- are mithril weapons considered as magical?
- I read here (https://olddungeonmaster.com/2017/12/12/dd-5e-non-standard-weapon-armor-materials/#:~:text=Mithral weapons,it gains the Finesse property.) that a heavy mithril weapon has to be considered as versatile: does that mean that my great weapon feat will not work with that maul?
